thepastriesare fair, but the biggest failure is the lack of proper plates and cutlery. they serve to-stay food on paper plates and only have plastic forks, knives and spoons. very bad form.

it's a little bakery/cafe in mission right next to wurst.

pro: variety of menu
con:pastries

i was hoping i can find another bakery that serves good quality croissant, their croissant was just ok. it wasn't something i like such as light and airy layer inside, buttery and almost crunchy outside. their croissant wasn't buttery enough for me and a little bit dense side. it is just my preference and i'm pretty picky so i'd like to hear from other people about it!

also, i tried eclair as well. it was also ok. nothing spectacular, but decent.

i had their crepe too. it's also just ok. i paid extra for whip cream but it was one of those spray can cream. i can't believe they serve that quality cream even though they do make pastries(or maybe they don't make cream from scratch??). i know they use can because they forgot to put whip cream on mine and i brought my plate to them to get cream after. this kind of cream is only acceptable at stampede, not a cute little cafe like here, disappointing.

however, there are menus that i haven't try, they have soup, stew, other bread, etc. i do think the range of menu is really good their, if you like their baking it's a good place to come hang out. except, there are very omitted space to sit, the distance between table to aisle is very narrow. if you don't mind people always passing by, the cafe itself is cute!

overall, i'd chose side walk citizens for croissant, i'd chose shuzette bistro for crepe. i don't mind to come back for menu i haven't tried, but i wouldn't repeat things i already had.

while i do enjoy coming here. if it's any time after lunch, the bread they use for baguette sandwiches is basically just rock hard and so hard to eat. the crepes are good but i always found thepastrieslacking flavour and sometimes don't taste too fresh.

i'd say for the price, thepastriesare decent. my smoke salmon baguette was actually quite tasty despite it being dry. this place fills up really fast on weekends so be sure to come earlier.

cute cafe on 4th street near the safeway. there's a paid parking lot next to it and also street parking.

i like that there is a pretty spacious patio area and also inside. i only tried the coffee and tart which were both good. lots of people eating breakfast there, i'll have to try next time. my only wish is that thepastrieswere organized better in the display so i know what i am looking at and ordering.

i like this place. their filopastrieswith mushrooms and goat cheese are to die for. their crepes come in various flavours and ingredients to satisfy a sweet tooth or soothe a savoury craving. i'm not impressed by the flimsy paper plates they serve you on. theirpastriesare good, with unique looking round cakes available to buy, a good alternative to the usual suspect bakery products.

my favorite place for sunday mornings. when i lived in calgary, i use to go here most sunday mornings. thepastriesand coffee are delicious. the crepes are usually good too, however they can sometimes be disappointing. i think it all depends of who's working that are making them. the last time i was in town visiting, i made sure to make a visit for a good coffee and a delicious crepe, however this time the experience wasn't all that friendly. i found the girl that was taking my order didn't have the time of day to take my order. it was simple: coffee, crepe and eclair. i was disappointed with the service and how i was being treated. i don't expect much, but a smile now and then is nice.

tres magnifique!. i live in mission, and frequent the neighboring coffee shops quite regularly. my favorite part of the day is when i get an americano and pastry from la boulangerie. their espresso is always perfect, and thepastriesare the best i've ever had. the counter staff are friendly, and efficient. newspapers and magazines, and a patio. love it!

only ok, terribly overpriced. the crepes were nice but hardly filling enough even as a light meal. bought somepastriesand bread to go,pastriesweren't amazing as i would expect at $5 apiece, too sweet and a bit dry. staff seemed rather disorganized and confused.

buttery flake pastries. the flakepastrieshere are a buttery indulgence. they are so crispy, flaky, airy and buttery that you will want to eat more then just one. they come in both sweet & savory combinations so there is always something new to try.

yes the layout is ridiculous; yes while waiting in line you have to wiggle around to see the contents within the container; yes the prices are over the top, but one needs to take into account the fact that it is a french concept bakery in a yuppie hood ; and yes thepastriesare devine and worth the wait & cost... but let guess you can secretly afford to indulge once in awhile.
