can't wait to go back, again and again. my husband, 2year old and i ate breakfast atkate'skitchen this morning after dropping my daughter off at prek. this was our second time here, the first being for lunch. (which was the best lunch i've had in years!!! and i'm pregnant and hard to please.)
i ordered the chicken fried chicken with eggs, hubby got the burrito and my son ordered the pancake w/sausage. amazing!!! this was the best breakfast ever. and after i finished my delightful chicken & eggs, i helped polish off my sons pancake he hadn't eaten.

this makes two great meals, with excellent customer service to boot.

wonderful experience. such a charming and cheerful atmosphere, awesome service, and an creative menu with affordable prices.
really i was quite surprised as this was no typical breakfast and lunch diner. the food was incredible and very original, not your same old bacon and eggs menu.
the place was clean, and the employees seem happy to serve you.
if you haven't eaten atkate'skitchen you should take a little time to treat yourself, i have no doubt once you have you feel as strongly as i do.

a little kindness served up with delicious food!. today, my husband and i went tokate'skitchen for lunch. after ordering, we received a text from a friend that has a 5 year old son who is fighting for his life. my husband and i were moved to tears. at that moment... and very quickly i might add, our waitress came to our table with our food. embarrassed, my husband explained the situation and why he was crying (bless his heart). she listened and empathized with our friend and the story of their struggle. she then went back to work while we ate. even though we were sober and it was extremely hard to eat... we ate our lunch. of course, it was exactly as expected... wonderful! the food was fresh, perfectly seasoned and the ideal temperature. delicious as always. but along with the extremely fast and friendly service, delicious food, warm atmosphere and all around charm... we received the kind of experience that can only come from people of genuine character. the waitress shared our story with the manager and they comped our meal in hopes it would brighten our day! amazing people. your food is awesome, your big hearts are awesomer! the money we saved on our lunch has been donated in your name to the eryith's family relief fund on gofundme.com. a big thank you to our waitress, amy!

great local business. i foundkate'skitchen while looking through urbanspoon for a local coffee shop, i had never heard of it before, and was excited to try it. the food and coffee were really good, friendly atmosphere, and a great way to support a local business, which i like to do when possible. i would definitely go again and recommend it to my friends and family.

i went tokate'skitchen and i was greeted with a smile when i walked in the door. the restaurant was packed, but we were seated within 5 mins on a saturday morning. i am a repeat customer, but it was my companion's first time. i had a really nice chicken salad and he had a club sandwich that he said he would return for soon. our server was really friendly and never kept us waiting. i asked to take my homemade muffin home and she said she would include the cream cheese icing for me to drizzle on it when i got home. i loved the friendly staff and great food. definitely, will return.

good food!. the food, service, & atmosphere @kate'skitchen is wonderful. going for breakfast or lunch, everyone will find something that they enjoy. the staff actually makes eye contact with diners for more than a couple of seconds! (i've had some bad experiences...) they're friendly & willing to work with small changes in an order. it's a treat to eat at this charming restaurant.

the best in kc for breakfast. every time we go tokate'skitchen the experience is wonderful. the food is always top notch and fresh. it is the one place our family of 5 can unanimously decide to go with no arguments.

definitely going to return!. i came uponkate'skitchen online looking for restaurants near by my apt as i'm new in the area. the menu and prices were good, so i thought i'd check it out. the place was packed (which in my experience is an excellent sign). service was good, portion size was good, the food was fresh and good quality. it did not seem like processed food. and the price was excellent. with the quick and friendly service and good quality food, i would definitely recommend stopping by sometime.

best food and service locally. i have been tokate'skitchen so many times i have lost of the exact number. i have to say they have the best food, great environment and excellent service!!

wonderful. not sure where to begin... was visiting the area and was told that the food was really good so stopped by one morning for coffee and to pick up a menu. the owner was personable and went above and beyond to make my experience atkate'samazing. i went back for lunch and sat down. the waiter was the same as the owner- amazing customer service and super quick. i was in and out in 20 minutes and had to bring half of my lunch home with me bc the portions were so large. the next morning i made a to go order and ordered from the fitness corner menu and the crepes were to die for. bonus was that the calories were low. the owner again met me at the door and was super helpful and personable. i did not think places like this existed anymore. thanks tokate'skitchen for several great experiences.

drove a little over 30 minutes to trykate'sand was a bit disapointed. the food was not bad but it also did not meet expectations either. my poached eggs where over done and the potatoes under cooked. the gravy and biscuits were the best thing i had they were not really worth the drive.

great food/great servide. we visitedkate'skitchen after a recommendation from a family member. the biscuits are soft and so flaky--the best i've had around here (sorry corner cafe & first watch). the service is also excellent--they were so attentive, but not overly so. i will definitely be back and will recommend this place to all my family and friends. i want to try one of the the french toast options next time.

simply awesome. i used to go to first watch for breakfast for years...one day about three weeks ago i urged my husband to stop atkate'skitchen. my girlfriends from work love this place. we had this omelet our server suggested, the sunrise i think it's called. my husband was looking for something filling. our server suggested the chicken fried chicken. my daughter had the kids pancake and ham. our son (1yr) was very fussy. another server was passing by and looked over our table and played with the kids a moment. a few seconds later the two servers showed up at our table with fresh fruit and crackers for the kids at the same time! talk about service...our servers name was pat , he was such a very nice man. and the big muscular guy was named jim or joe...anyway, today we went back in and this place was packed! we once again had pat as our server, he did not disappoint once again. the thing that was so surprising was the food was just as good as the first time even in all that chaos. the other man, jim/joe was running the cash register and he saw us in the crowd and came over and thanked us for coming back...he even remembered our daughters name and that she had told him she was going on a field trip, i was stunned...he told us the owner was back in the kitchen cooking, and how hard that man works to keep such a beautiful place likekate'srunning! another girl named soppua whan also stopped and said hi to the kids, and to top it all off the other owner joey, took our plates away in nothing flat...we spent less than $25 for our meals that will bring us back for a lifetime....you would not believe the smiles you get from the obviously professional staff...everyone should give this place a try...simply, awesome!!!!

awesome!!. if you and your family are looking for not a only a great place to eat that serves delicious food, but a place where you are made to feel extremely welcome,kate'skitchen is the place to be! the owners make you feel as if you are dining with them in their own home and work tirelessly to make sure you have a wow experience! this is by far one of the best places to eat in kc!!!
