kate's kitchen

i went to kate's kitchen and i was greeted with a smile when i walked in the door. the restaurant was packed, but we were seated within 5 mins on a saturday morning. i am a repeat customer, but it was my companion's first time. i had a really nice chicken salad and he had a club sandwich that he said he would return for soon. our server was really friendly and never kept us waiting. i asked to take my homemade muffin home and she said she would include the cream cheese icing for me to drizzle on it when i got home. i loved the friendly staff and great food. definitely, will return.

good food!. the food, service, & atmosphere @ kate's kitchen is wonderful. going for breakfast or lunch, everyone will find something that they enjoy. the staff actually makes eye contact with diners for more than a couple of seconds! (i've had some bad experiences...) they're friendly & willing to work with small changes in an order. it's a treat to eat at this charming restaurant.

the best in kc for breakfast. every time we go to kate's kitchen the experience is wonderful. the food is always top notch and fresh. it is the one place our family of 5 can unanimously decide to go with no arguments.

this place is awesome. don't walk... run... to their breakfast. it was incredible. service was spot on and the food was beyond great. 4 of us and everyone raved. the friend that ordered the crab cakes benedict had a religious experience. can't say enough good anout this place. we will visit everytime we hit kc.

if you like first watch.... ...then you'll love this place.
every bit as good, if not better.
and it costs less!

great breakfast. we found kate's kitchen on urban spoon and we were not disappointed .. great food and atmosphere and friendly helpful staff ... if i'm ever in kansas city again i will be making a stop here .. would defo recommend!

wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch. this is a gem right in my neighborhood in gladstone! wonderful food and excellent service! try the granola banana pancakes! i love their healthy choice menu as well-very tasty! they are very similar to first watch both in taste and price.

definitely going to return!. i came upon kate's kitchen online looking for restaurants near by my apt as i'm new in the area. the menu and prices were good, so i thought i'd check it out. the place was packed (which in my experience is an excellent sign). service was good, portion size was good, the food was fresh and good quality. it did not seem like processed food. and the price was excellent. with the quick and friendly service and good quality food, i would definitely recommend stopping by sometime.

amazing. the food, the service and the overall experience summed up in one word. i would recommend this place to everyone. the service here is wonderful, all the servers treat you like family. the food is fantastic, everything on the menu tastes perfect.

we love it. surprised when people complain about small portions. have eaten here several times and portions have never been a problem,even for bigger male eaters in family. last wk ordered the banana carmel french toast, it wasn't as hot as i prefer and had to send it back twice for a warm up, but no biggie to get that done.believe problem was due to cold bananas and carmel sauce. but was quickly fixed. we always ask to have "crisp" potatos and they are great.
sons love the "chicked fried chicken" its a large chicken breast fried with perfectly season and crispy crust. comes with bisquit, gravy, eggs, and potatos, large plate of food.

never disappointed, we always go early to beat the crowd, enjoy the staff.

best food and service locally. i have been to kate's kitchen so many times i have lost of the exact number. i have to say they have the best food, great environment and excellent service!!

this little gem is tucked away in an assuming strip mall, it's bright blue sign (and the occasional line out the door) the only indication that the best home-cooking since, well, your mom's is hidden within.

this morning i enjoyed their chicken fried chicken, and it was far better than it had any right to be. my wife enjoyed their special of the day, a scrambler mixed with diced ham, bacon, eggs, and avocado slices. she ended up trading half her delicious meal for about a third of the chicken.

the atmosphere is simple but charming and the service is exceptionally quick and friendly. when asked for a recommendation from the menu, i felt like bailey (or waitress) had a genuine love for the food there, a refreshing change.

my goal is to never order the same thing twice there till i've sampled everything that looked appetizing, and i'll be suggesting it as a spot for lunch with my friends from here on.

wonderful. not sure where to begin... was visiting the area and was told that the food was really good so stopped by one morning for coffee and to pick up a menu. the owner was personable and went above and beyond to make my experience at kate's amazing. i went back for lunch and sat down. the waiter was the same as the owner- amazing customer service and super quick. i was in and out in 20 minutes and had to bring half of my lunch home with me bc the portions were so large. the next morning i made a to go order and ordered from the fitness corner menu and the crepes were to die for. bonus was that the calories were low. the owner again met me at the door and was super helpful and personable. i did not think places like this existed anymore. thanks to kate's kitchen for several great experiences.

drove a little over 30 minutes to try kate's and was a bit disapointed. the food was not bad but it also did not meet expectations either. my poached eggs where over done and the potatoes under cooked. the gravy and biscuits were the best thing i had they were not really worth the drive.

kate's is the best. kates has a wide variety of food my fave is crab cake eggs benidict
they have other ones too! and a salmon salad is to die for , there blue cheese dressing is perfect with big chuncks of blue cheese! my husband loves the everything omlet. i have never had any thing bad from there and ive tried the whole menu. its so frech!! and there rye bread is wonderfull! if u have to wait its never more then 15or 20 min but its more then worth it!!!
