hi today we went to the inn for a birthday lunch, beautiful setting had been there many times prior to covid.
i am aware the pandemic has made life difficult for venues.
i also dont normally complain. however today was disastrous, not enough staff, the meals were disappointing, one hard chicken inside soggy coating, awful steak sandwich cold soft not cooked bacon, another chicken schnitzel awful, boards very ordinary for the price we had 4, chips and wedges were the best foods on table of 12. run out of wine glasses, really. bar staff inadequate, slow.this 12 won't be back, but please address these points to not lose more customers, lived here all my life, the inn had been an icon for our north east area,

breathtaking breakfast!. the location of this pub is what sets it apart. dining room is very tranquil and the views of the hills are astounding. i dined here for breakfast recently and could not go past the granola, which was served in a beautiful toffee basket. it is a shame breakfast is only available on weekends. i returned mid week to enjoy a lunch and i was a little disappointed with the menu, which did not have a lot of variety, especially if you would rather a healthier/light option. the lunch and dinner menu is laden with deep fried dishes, burgers and pizzas. please add something basic to the menu for fussy eaters, such as a nice chicken salad or similar.

the most amazing atmosphere and customer service! the food is ok... it's not great but it's not bad. i've been there a few times and most recently ordered a steak medium-rare. it came out very unevenly cooked and very tough to eat. my friends ordered snorkels and we were disappointed they haven't yet got the memo that no one enjoys the snitzel on top of the fries! it makes them soggy! plus our side salad were literally a bowl of rocket a few specks of parmesan and about 2 shavings of pear... for the price it just does not cut it!

have been here a few times and had very different experiences. went there for dinner last night & ordered a chicken snitty with mushroom gravy, a staple for any pub worth it's salt but was very disappointed! the snitty it's self was tiny, no bigger then my hand. it was very dry and was like cutting through leather. for 23$ i was quite disappointed. my partner had a meat lovers pizza which he did not enjoy either, it was covered in a very tasteless pork meat that ruined the entire pizza.

visited for sunday lunch with some friends and was happily surprised! the setting was beautiful, the dinning room on the second floor has wall to wall glass doors allowing you to enjoy the great views in a winters day from the warmth of inside ( the warmth thanks to a large wood fire in the dinning room!) the hotel also has a large deck/ balcony that will be lovely in the warmer weather but a bit chilly in the cold as there are no outdoor heaters. the food was above average pub fare with all the usuals appearing on the menu along with wood oven pizzas ( available in sml, medium & lge. large being more then enough to share between 2!) i enjoyed a delicious and very large burger for $15. i couldn't fault the food but found the staff were a little on the slack side, we requested some aioli that we never did end up getting.
all in all a great renovated pub just a few minutes drive from the north eastern suburbs but still nestled away in a quiet scenic spot of the adelaide hills, will defiantly be back!!

if you're hungry...don't wait!. we heard that the inglewood inn had renos done so we went to check it out. only to wait a labouring 45 minutes for a burger!

we thought they forgot about us so we questioned them and my burger came out 10 minutes later!

burger was tasty but jaw-breaking.
for $17 we will def not be waiting 45 minutes again.

just keep driving to the next country town and order there. it will be quicker!!

had mothers day lunch here. there was a set menu..... was $50 a head for a small tasting platter of cheese and bread and a couple of pieces of ham and a main meal with no sides. i felt this was way over priced and that at least a glass of bubbly or a small dessert should have been included for that price. food was average and staff were slow to take orders. wasn't overly impressed for the amount of money we paid.

first time here, the last few times we had tried going they were packed out, so it’s always good to ring ahead and book a table. the pub is set on the side of a hill over looking paddocks and a creek. great view and nicely presented dinking room. we had slow-cooked pork belly and a steak. the meals were perfectly cooked. we had house beer and it was a standout brew! very enjoyable afternoon, the staff were great and very attentive. the pricing was reasonable considering the satisfaction levels we experienced! will definitely be returning!

wow what a great find. a historic old pub sympathetically restored. beautiful restaurant area and balcony overlooking the hills and a stream. service efficient. food excellent - try the amazing chicken wings and pretty good tomato arancini. good selection of local beers on tap and by the bottle. recommended. we’ll be back.

living locally, i've been coming here for years. good, tasty quality pub style food. service has never been amazing but tonight was something else.

i forgot to add initially: we booked 45 mins earlier and were told it was fine to get us a table. on arrival, the hostess could not find our booking on the computer, was getting frustrated and was about to turn us away despite the abundance of spare tables in the restaurant.

the menu has changed dramatically. no more pizzas, only meals ranging from $20-35. the menu reads very upper market but meals missed the mark. herb crumbed schnitzel had no herbs at all in the crumb that could be tasted. the signature burger came in a stale and untoasted turkish roll. $22 for a patty, some tomato and lettuce. the most ordinary, overpriced burger ever. not a single vegetarian main on the menu so i had to order a few sides. tasty enough, but the zucchini flowers were greasy and needed a sauce of some kind.

service was shocking. asked for a bottle of water upon being seated and had to remind the waitress twice before we received it. drinks were taken and forgotten and no apologies made. one at my table ordered a lager only to be told 'all the beers are lagers'- maybe educate your staff?
throughout our meal, waitresses were actually running through the restaurant. i cannot imagine anything less professional. we were actually asked to physically lift and move our table so waitresses could walk past when to our left was plenty of space to walk through. i just could not understand it.
the wait staff looked unkempt and were highly unprofessional. the increase in price and changes in menu are unsuited to the service and style the venue still has. we will not be returning.

the inglewood is one of my favourite places to eat. a lovely setting and pleasant atmosphere. headed up there tonight for a light meal and decided to give the pizza a go. had previously thought to order a single pizza to share (they are 11") but read on the menu that they recommend one pizza per person. we went with the recommendation and found it was a gross exaggeration. the pizzas are a true 11" size and definitely enough for two and to be honest you can get better pizzas elsewhere. we turned down the option to take the remnants away and left $25 worth of food on the table. not a fan of such a misleading, obvious revenue raising comment on the menu.

an attractive stone pub in a scenic location with lovely views over a valley.
strangely, even though it wasn't hot outside, the a/c & fans were on as well as the balcony doors being open. luckily i had put a cardi over my summer dress but i still felt somewhat chilled.
i had the sticky pork belly (with asian salad & sticky sauce) which initially was delicious but due to the intensity of the fatty/salty/sweet flavours, it got a bit overwhelming & i couldn't finish it.
my sister had the chicken schnitzel and she loved the pear slaw that accompanied it. my partner had the atlantic salmon with risotto and green salad of roquette & snow peas and pronounced it tasty.

sunday lunch in an idyllic setting up in the adelaide hills.
settled on a couple of lovely wines and the "adelaide hills board" which comprised local meats, cheese, pate etc and oysters for starters. magnificent fresh food. attentive service.
just as well we had not ordered anything beyond these as we were done.
great value for money and the only down side was that one of us had to drive!

we recently headed here for lunch on a weekend after a hills drive. we weren't particularly hungry so we had the sharing plate and a serve of the grilled haloumi between the two of us. the food was nice, i would have liked some crackers to go with the lovely piece of brie that was served on the shared platter. the haloumi was tasty, you can't really go wrong with grilled cheese! they did have frose which went down very well on the warm sunny day. good choice of local wines and ciders available. the wait staff did forget cutlery for us as well as another table who received their meals only for the waiter to walk off. staff were polite and the location is lovely. go for a nice casual lunch when you have some time for a drive.
