good tex-mex food @ fair prices.. chuy's is great if you like tex-mex food. the portions are large, fresh & flavorful. it's a fun environment, always crowded, but service is never slow. i always get their mexi-cobb salad which is huge and so delicious. i choose their jalapeno creamy dressing and love it. they have several different salsas, which i believe you have to pay for most of them (???) not sure, but the one you are served when seated is just ok, sort of bland and no spice to it at all. i have had the taquitos & also the tortilla soup and they were good. the waiter said they marinate their chicken for several hours (possibly 24) and the chicken was really moist and good. prices are very fair, restaurant was clean and service has always been friendly and fun.

first impression. we waited long enough for all the hype to wear off, but i can't figure out why there was any to begin with. i had the combination #4 chili relleno & enchilada. yes, they got it wrong. they also got my wife's order wrong and we heard another person nearby saying theirs was wrong too. shouldn't have been that hard... straight from the menu. the food was very so..so. strike one.

not worth the heartburn!. why would anyone eat here when you can dump a can of rosarita refried beans from walmart in a bowl, pop it in the microwave and toss it on a tortilla with some melted velveeta-rotel queso? seriously people, this is dallas! there are so many great hole-in-the-wall mexican places all over town... heck, velvet taco is right across the freeway, taqueria lupita just down henderson and tacos y mas is not too far either! bottom line: this place is not worth the time or heartburn and if it is going to stick around it needs a facelift.

nasty !!!. it has been a while since we have been to chuy's and after yesterday we will not be going to this location ever again. first we had to wait for a table because nobody was cleaning the empty tables that was all over. then when we finally got seated we waited again for the very rude server to inform us that they were out of chips (how does a mexican restaurant run out of chips) he then turned around and left without another word. upon returning, finally he didn't ask us what we wanted to drink he just stood there we told him what we wanted to drink and eat, he turned around and left again without a word. he finally brought chips and salsa the chips tasted like bagged chips. the flour tortillias were hard and cold and tasted like they were a week old. i finally got up to ask for small plates for the chips and tortillias apparently it was the manager that i asked. he was very, very rude and acted like he he had no ideal what a small plate was ! he brought the plates later and practically threw them on the table and stalked off. when the food was finally brought out it was unedible ! we ordered the #6 cheese enchilada, taco, chalupa and rice and beans and two orders of nachos. the nachos tasted as bad as they looked the refried beans were scorched and looked like they were scraped from the sides and bottom of the pan. the #6 dinner was cold and tasted awful. the server never came back around after he threw the food on the table, we had to flag him down to get the ticket and then he has the nerve to ask if we needed anything else to drink !!! he threw the ticket on the table and left. the only thing we needed was a rolaid and something edible for supper !! a bean burrito from taco bell would be a five star meal compared to this !! we will never go back to this chuy's ever again !!!!

pleasantly surprised!. i had never eaten at chuy's before, but i was meeting a group of people there to celebrate a friend's birthday. i'll have to admit that i was a little hesitant about the choice of the restaurant from the reviews i read on here. i planned to just order cheese dip, but once i got there, i noticed the parking lot was packed and there was a line of people waiting to be seated. (i thought "hmmm, this place must be good") as we were walking to our table, i saw some of the employees at the (fresh) tortilla making booth and that the other customer's food looked appetizing and the place smelled pretty good, too. when i looked at the menu, there weren't any pictures. i can read, but i like to see pictures of the food..... however, the description of each menu item was well written. as i was waiting for my food, i tried the chips with the cold, white ranch/jalapeno dip.... it was great! as another reviewer stated, their chips are delicious! for my meal, i ordered panchos with fajita chicken. the "chips" were x-large tortillas that had been cut into two or three pieces and fried(?). they were topped with cheese and all of the other toppings that were listed in the description on the menu. they customized them at my request as well (no refried beans and no onions). i will have to agree with other reviewers as well on the flavor. they were not spicy, but that can be a good thing! there are lots of people that can't handle the spice. plus, this restaurant has several different sauces at different heat levels that you could add to your order if you wanted to. i was fine with my food just as it was, although i have to admit, i loved that jalapeno-ranch dip so much, that i drizzled on top of my nachos! that stuff was addicting! i didn't order an alcoholic drink, but my friends did and they didn't complain about them. the prices were good, too. the service was great, and i will definitely return to this restaurant the next time i'm in little rock and in the mood for tex-mex! :)

horrible service- took them close to 90 minutes to get us our food and it was luke warm. the manager came to our table to explain why it was taking so long--you would think they would deliver at least an ok meal..we didn't touch it. then we get the bill for the full price. will never go back here again. unfortunate.

surprisingly different from the others. i have been going to chuy's for years now, both in austin and in plano. this was my second experience trying the one on mckinney and surprisingly it matched my first experience...this chuy's is just different from the one in plano and austin. i am not sure why, but the food at the mckinney chuy's is just not quite as good as the original chuy's or the one in plano (or any other one that i have been to for that matter). my recommendation is finding one of the other chuy's restaurants and going there instead.

excellent tex-mex and nice, free appetizers during happy hour in the bar;
the atmosphere is quite lively....similar to what you encounter at carlos and charlie's or senior frogs in acapulco or cancun; it is family friendly; the food quality and variety is excellent; prices are reasonable and the waitstaff is excellent! try each of the salsa's ( they are unique, not too hot and quite tasty). the "chic-a-boom" enchiladas are phenomenal! enjoy!

fake mexican. the chicken fajitas were mostly chicken and very little peppers and onions. while decent in flavor i actually like a lot of peppers and onions with my fajitas.

a good mexican place is literally a few hundred feet south. ted's escondido has better service and complimentary atomic salsa and relish.

ted's also has grilled jalapeños and chuy's fake mexican restaurant does not.

i won't be back. pathetic excuse for a mexican place when they miss even the basics.

chuy's is one of the best tex-mex restaurants i have been to ever!!! every bite was fantastic, their food was really great. if you haven't been here you should go, it's to die for. oh the service was great too, our waiter robert was great and he catered to our every need without us asking.

i usually go to chuy's once every other week. i always ask for my chicken fajitas very well done i had to send them back tonight and when i finally received them back there was a charred toothpick and a french fry in them as well. i told the manger and he said that to get the vegetables charred he has his cooks put them in the deep fryer. huh? he took my meal off my ticket but i'm still a little pissed about the cooked toothpick in my food. i won't go back.

can i say eh... tex mex for midwesterners. this was the most bland tex mex ever! they don't even offer table spices like a polite mexican restaurant does so you have no choice but to gum your way through the tasteless offering. the only thing spicy is the complimentary and fresh salsa ?pico? with fresh chips served before the meal. my margarita would have been laughed at by any self respecting restaurant. (was there any tequila in it??) my advice is to go for sodas and salsa/chips then head to a real restaurant for tex mex or mexican.
