pleasantly surprised!. i had never eaten at chuy's before, but i was meeting a group of people there to celebrate a friend's birthday. i'll have to admit that i was a little hesitant about the choice of the restaurant from the reviews i read on here. i planned to just order cheese dip, but once i got there, i noticed the parking lot was packed and there was a line of people waiting to be seated. (i thought "hmmm, this place must be good") as we were walking to our table, i saw some of the employees at the (fresh) tortilla making booth and that the other customer's food looked appetizing and the place smelled pretty good, too. when i looked at the menu, there weren't any pictures. i can read, but i like to see pictures of the food..... however, the description of each menu item was well written. as i was waiting for my food, i tried the chips with the cold, white ranch/jalapeno dip.... it was great! as another reviewer stated, their chips are delicious! for my meal, i ordered panchos with fajita chicken. the "chips" were x-large tortillas that had been cut into two or three pieces and fried(?). they were topped with cheese and all of the other toppings that were listed in the description on the menu. they customized them at my request as well (no refried beans and no onions). i will have to agree with other reviewers as well on the flavor. they were not spicy, but that can be a good thing! there are lots of people that can't handle the spice. plus, this restaurant has several different sauces at different heat levels that you could add to your order if you wanted to. i was fine with my food just as it was, although i have to admit, i loved that jalapeno-ranch dip so much, that i drizzled on top of my nachos! that stuff was addicting! i didn't order an alcoholic drink, but my friends did and they didn't complain about them. the prices were good, too. the service was great, and i will definitely return to this restaurant the next time i'm in little rock and in the mood for tex-mex! :)
