thank zeus for chuy's!. i'm a 6th-generation, native texan from the austin area, and i was over-the-moon to find out that achuy'shad opened up in the tex-mex desert known as little rock.

i had my usual enchilada plate. when they brought it out, it looked stuffed like a burrito. that's because they put my refrieds inside the enchiladas for some reason. not exactly what i had in mind, but i chalk that up to new restaurant and new staff working with a new menu. it was still delicious and the drinks always are on target.

although the staff seem a little green right now, they make up for it with enthusiasm. our waitress seemed a little flustered and overwhelmed. i have no doubt thatchuy'shere will get better with time.

the worst service! im from houston and was excited to finally get achuy'sin little rock. i'm so disappointed. i have been there twice and both times had the worst service. the staff is very rude. the staff also was using profanity through out our meal. we had our children with us and the staff did not care at all. very disappointed!!! love the houston location and the staff!!!

food is average. my husband and i used their curbside service tonight because we just wanted to take the food and go home and not fight the crowd. as i was unpacking everything i discovered two things (1) no utensils or napkins were provided and (2) we were charged a "packaging fee" for using their curbside service. no where on their printed menu, website or when we called in our order was this "fee" mentioned. the fee is small but the idea behind the fee without disclosure isn't. average food plus a fee means we probably won't be going back. that being said i will say this, i'm not a huge tortilla chip lover butchuy'sare light, crisp and addictive.

overall pretty good. ate atchuy'sfor the first time on a sunday night. sat at the bar. was not impressed that the cocktail area was drinks and appetizers only. wish the patio had a tv so we could have watched the thunder game outside but no big deal. i had the taco salad which was good (had a side of refried beans to go with my salad and was tasty!) the salsa was a bit spicy but still good and looked to be made fresh daily. my bf had a burrito which was huge! and was delicious! the green chile rice was really good, lots of flavor and not spicy at all. i had a bunch of margaritas which were pricey but still yummy! there were 6 bartenders on duty when we got there at 8ish. several of them just stood around and watched the game. kylea was very friendly and very attentive to every bar guest and refilled drinks and socialized with everyone. she knew the menu as well and could make suggestions as to what people may like. she told us that if we came in with a pic of our dogs it would be posted on the wall which i think is awesome! i likedchuy'sand will return!

a chi-chi's for the 21st century. i never went to chi-chi's back in the day but i got a feeling thatchuy'sis what chi-chi's would have evolved into if they had survived the new century.

the atmosphere has a festive tropical feel with central american influences. the menu seemed authentic in nature with a variety of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc and a selection of salsas & such to choose from. the wait staff was helpful although the music was too hip-hoppy for music to dine to.

the only things that got me was the prices, which for lunch, seemed higher than normal for tex-mex faire. and the food was more on the bland side than flavorful , the only that saved it was the assorted salsas.

i'd go back it had the money to spend or if someone else was buying, otherwise i'd save some $$ and go to qdoba's or don pablo's.

this was my first visit to a chuy's, but i'd heard such good things about the place. we visited on a friday before the lunch rush. we were greeted and seated immediately. a short time later, we were presented with the traditional chips, but the salsa was different - in a good way.chuy'ssalsa is a fresh salsa - fresh chopped tomatoes, onions, and the right amount of spice. we also ordered queso- very delicious - taste is similar to torchy's tacos salsa. i ordered the baja tacos with grilled shrimp andchuy'sfamous creamy jalapeno ranch dip on the side. overall an excellent lunch trip. we'll definitely be back!

we enjoyed our visit to chuy's. getting nearby parking can be challenging but we were lucky to get a spot close by. seated immediately on a wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. they have a vibrant bar area separate from the dining area, but you can order from the full menu in the bar if you choose. unlimited chips and salsa -- and two distinctively different types of salsa - one tomato based finely chopped and the other a cream green chili base.

i ordered a chicken filled green chili salsa enchilada and a meat filled chili relleno combination plate (with green chili rice and charro beans). it took quite a while for the meal to be delivered. meanwhile i did enjoy their "basic" margarita -- quite delicious for $7. the plate arrived super hot and the meal was very tasty in all respects. portions are large, and i ended up taking half home with me for lunch the next day (it re-heats quite well in the microwave).

i'm surechuy'sisn't the best mexican food in dallas but quite a decent experience, and high value.

from time to time, i'm given the opportunity to try new menu items at a restaurant. today, leif and hunter and i went to sample the special green chile festival menu at chuy's, where we tried almost all of the things, and learned about hatch green chiles andchuy'srestaurant in the process. now, chuy'sas a chain has been around a little while.  these two guys, mike young and john zapp, opened up a tex-mex eatery in a former barbecue joint in austin, texas back in april 1982.  their goal was to serve fresh food - which is pretty awesome and a complete simplification of what they do.

i've had better.

we went on a friday night with a 15-minute wait. very surprising. our host attempted to take us to a table that was not on the patio as we requested. so i tracked him down to let him know and he seemed to be rather put out. i tried to make my request light-hearted, but he wasn't having it. maybe he was just having a bad night.

our waitress was decent, but she never smiled until we were about to leave. however, service was impeccable and the food was served hot as expected.

as i mentioned above i've had better service here as well as in texas. the texas folks seem to enjoy where they worked. they seemed as whimsical as the decor. not so much here in norman.

either way i lovechuy'sand i'll be back (so be ready).

this review is for the north little rock location which does not have its own zomato entry. i walked into the restaurant a little over an hour ago, at about 8:20 on sunday evening. the restaurant does not close until 10 pm, but the primary reason for writing this review is that the staff at this location was acting as though the restaurant had closed at 8 pm. everything about the service was slow; it took 10 minutes for my waitress to stop at my table the first time to bring chips and salsa and to take a drink order, then it was 8:45 before my margarita arrived at my table. the restaurant was not busy, but there were several tables in attendance, and more people were seated after i had arrived. i was seated near the main intersection of the restaurant, where the staff would walk from the kitchen to the bar area. the whole time, there were large numbers of employees congregated in this area, loudly having personal conversations about what was going on in their lives outside of work, including profanity, and several occasions of staff members yelling from one part of the restaurants to the other. they seemed to be oblivious that customers could hear everything that was going on, and the subconscious attitude was that service of the customers seemed like an interruption to their raucous carrying on. twice during my hour visit to the restaurant there was the sound of shattering glass in the service area or bar. the food quality was also lower than normalchuy'sstandards. both of my bowls of salsa had jalapeño stems in them. the beef in the steak burrito was so over cooked that it was very dry, almost sawdusty, and was not even warm enough to melt the cheese in the burrito, although the plate was scorching hot when it arrived at the table. toward the end of my meal, as two of the staff members were sweeping up the dining room, they continued their loud personal conversation, taking much more time than needed to clean up after previous patrons, and were sweeping so close to my feet, that i thought they were almost trying to sweep me out as well. if this is indicative of the quality of service on sunday evenings, the restaurant might as well close much earlier.

we went tochuy'swith a very large group {45} during a conference in okc. the service was perfect, the waitstaff was patient & had all of our food out in a timely manner.

i ordered 2 enchiladas {one tex-mex cheese with onions & the other beef with creamy jalapeno sauce} they were extra delicious. the chips & salsa tasted fresh & were always full.

definitely worth a try the next time you are close to one!

we ate dinner atchuy'sin west little rock tonight and i don't think we'll ever return. i ordered the veggie enchilada one of my favorite meals there and it wasn't up to what i have come to expect. also i bit into about an inch long piece of plastic bottle cap that was somehow in the salsa and i have regurgitated at least four woody avocado stems that was mixed into the guacamole that we ordered. this all makes me wonder what else was in our food. i can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone.
