chuy's is an amazing restaurant snuggled into a cute downtown-esque area in oak lawn/university park. the food is amazing, my favorite being their perfect flautas. however, i mostly come for their salsa and amazing spicy jalapeño ranch dressing. ask for it, it's free (i think?) and it's the best. if they bottled it up and sold it my family and i would always have some in the house. anyway, if you're in dallas/fort worth, this is a definite must-eat restaurant. there are also locations in plano (new), austin (origin), and houston. not sure about san antonio.

meh!. not worth the hassle of finding parking in the area to dine there. if you are there and parked already, and craving tex-mex like you can find anywhere else, stop by and get a window seat and watch the pretty people walk by.

awesome staff that makes you feel at home. great unlimited chips and salsa. had a delicious taco salad and the waiter told me they have a secret marinade for the beef. in the end, spent 15 dollars for me and my husband to eat and we were full!

love it. chuys is great, the food is always what i expect and the people are just down to earth. my boyfriend and i are regulars (at least once every two weeks) and their chuychanga is the best!! if you haven't eaten at chuys yet, it's a must! fast, casual and friendly and the jalapeno ranch with the chips is something i crave regularly!!

it's all about the jalapeno ranch!. i admit it...the only reason i would occasionally pick this tex mex over someplace else is that pastel green bowl of heaven that comes out first thing..the jalapeno ranch dip! i could eat of quart of the stuff..addicting! the food is "ok"..i prefer pappasitos, but it's still a good choice.

a long-time favorite. i've been a fan of the north 183 location for 10 years. the outside patio is a nice place to eat, and the food is unapologetic two-fisted tex-mex. the salsa fresca and creamy jalapeno dressing/dip are some of the best ways to torment a tortilla chip i've come across. try the fajitas!

favorite texmex ever. this is the best texmex maybe anywhere. we bring all out-of-town friends and family to chuy's at *least* once and they all beg to come back. the decor is insane and fun, the wait staff is invariably awesome and the food is inexpensive and spectacular.

noisy, kitschy, and fun. you will leave full and happy! i particularly like their tex mex sauce, which is one of the only "chile con carne" sauces i've found with a little heat to it. i have them put this sauce on the chuy's special (instead of the tomatillo that usually comes on it.) it's one of my favorite dishes around.

chuy's is like a mexican chili's :-) great!. this place was really good! you'll like it. it's a more authentic mexican place but still tex-mex. they make the tortillas right there in plain-site it's so great. the food was heartyfull and yum!

excellent mexican food. just very good mexican food. my wife was giddy when she discovered they were opening one only a few mintues down the freeway.

the custom enchilidas are a nice treat - have them fixed exactly how you want them with your choice of filling and sauce.
chuy's serves two different salsas with your chips -- and unlike any downtown restaurant salsa, both salsas have some heat to them.

i recommend the cheese relleno and the special enchiladas. and make sure you get the green chili rice with your meal.

some seriously good, fun, inexpensive tex-mex.. seems like there's always a wait, but it's always worth it. never had bad service or bad food.

it's funky and kinda cluttered in a charming little way inside; very casual and fun. the menu is standard tex-mex with a few little twists.

everything is good, and i mean everything-- a few favorites are the rio grande (carne guisade) enchiladas, the chicka-chicka-boom-boom enchiladas (shredded chicken, topped with a green chile queso, side of chile lime rice), and the beef fajitas. chips/salsa/queso are awesome, and you can't forget the jalapeno ranch for the chips... it is ridiculously addictive. the margaritas taste pretty good for using sweet-and-sour (rather than lime juice); they're the only crappy margaritas i actually like, haha.

always have leftovers, and gf & i leave for under $30. this is our ideal tex-mex place.

our go-to place.... chuy's is our go-to staple for quick no-fuss tasty tex-mex. the atmosphere is eclectic as the servers. the food is always good and consistent. we order quesadillas on a wheat tortilla. we prefer the wheat over the flour. service is always good. texas martini is recommended. -ba
