we used take out. the serving was packaged smartly with the food in separate compartments. the tortilla chips weregoodand light. the food was tasty, but not over the top in taste. i would go back. when you call your order in they ask if you want to use their curbside to go, which i did. what they didn't tell me is they charge a packaging fee. that is the same as charging a "plating fee" to bring your meal to the
table. ridiculous and they didn't tell me that there is a fee when i agreed to use the curbside service. i suspect that other restaurants will begin the same fee, if they already haven't, if they have curbside service. bottom line is food is good, not great.

overall pretty good. ate at chuy's for the first time on a sunday night. sat at the bar. was not impressed that the cocktail area was drinks and appetizers only. wish the patio had a tv so we could have watched the thunder game outside but no big deal. i had the taco salad which wasgood(had a side of refried beans to go with my salad and was tasty!) the salsa was a bit spicy but stillgoodand looked to be made fresh daily. my bf had a burrito which was huge! and was delicious! the green chile rice was really good, lots of flavor and not spicy at all. i had a bunch of margaritas which were pricey but still yummy! there were 6 bartenders on duty when we got there at 8ish. several of them just stood around and watched the game. kylea was very friendly and very attentive to every bar guest and refilled drinks and socialized with everyone. she knew the menu as well and could make suggestions as to what people may like. she told us that if we came in with a pic of our dogs it would be posted on the wall which i think is awesome! i liked chuy's and will return!

will try it again in a month. pros:
the food has agoodflavor, and just the right amount of spiciness. the refried beans are very good.

cons:
crowded - wherever you sit, you feel like you're in the middle of traffic...
the food orders are ridiculously large - but we were told you can order a half order of most things on the menu.
the servers are not fully trained yet - they seem pretty clueless, actually. our drinks sat empty for a looooong time, our orders came out wrong and the server didn't know how they were supposed to be, and several times we had some random servers bring random food items by our table that we didn't order...

we'll try it again in about a month when they hopefully will be more organized and better trained.

we went with our party of seven adults tonight to this lively crowded spot off 281 and henderson pass. like the other restaurants in this chain, it's decor is 50s shabby/chic with lots of hubcaps, elvis memorabilia and new mexico references since the mexican food leans toward southwestern mexican and not tex mex. the hostess asked that we wait until everyone in our party had arrived before being seated, but the restaurant wasn't crowded? we were seated and given menus. after ten minutes our waiter arrived and was not happy, he seemed preoccupied and upset, an attitude that continued throughout our meal.

the menu has some appetizers, salads, enchilada plates and specialties plus a fajita offering. also a full bar. we ordered drinks and the appetizer sampler to get started. sheesh, we waited another 20 minutes before our waiter brought our drinks and appetizer---then he disappeared without taking our entree orders! we weren't pleased at all with the service but when he showed up again we ordered taco salads, soft tacos, tortilla soup and mexican salad.

another 30-minute wait and finally our entrees arrived cold and not really very good. my taco salad had wilted and brown lettuce and about half a cup of meat--for $10??? my spouse's mexican salad was bland and chicken on it ice cold. the appetizer plate had flautas, queso, guacamole, nachos and quesadillas but no one finished those... it just wasn't that good.

before we had even gotten halfway through our entrees our disgruntled waiter brought our checks! goodgrief, guess no one wanted desserts?

i doubt we'll waste our time and money coming here anytime soon. the best parts are the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce and the crispy chips. everything else, including the rude disinterested service, is forgettable. total for three entrees, two drinks and a margarita was $52.87 including tip.

this was my first visit to a chuy's, but i'd heard suchgoodthings about the place. we visited on a friday before the lunch rush. we were greeted and seated immediately. a short time later, we were presented with the traditional chips, but the salsa was different - in agoodway. chuy's salsa is a fresh salsa - fresh chopped tomatoes, onions, and the right amount of spice. we also ordered queso- very delicious - taste is similar to torchy's tacos salsa. i ordered the baja tacos with grilled shrimp and chuy's famous creamy jalapeno ranch dip on the side. overall an excellent lunch trip. we'll definitely be back!

i have been to this place twice, for dinner on both instances. i really like the vibe of the place and the food isgoodtoo. take a table outside and enjoy your dinner under the pleasant light of the bulbs that are in the string.
had the chicken enchilada called chicka chicka boom boom that comes with their special green sauce.
also they have unlimited chips and salsa! don't forget to get your creamy jalapeño sauce that tastes best with the chips.

chuy's is mexican with a twist (or a bit of kink if you prefer).

they have a nice patio which they actually use much of the year.

they have the usual mexican fare but usually stepped up a bit. they also have their kink - like the elvis green chile fried chicken. from their menu: "a chuys original. a tender chicken breast breaded with lays potato chips, deep fried and smothered in green chile sauce and cheddar cheese. served with green chile rice and refried beans".

the two combo plates are excellent and showcase several items. just have them hold the 'smokey chipotle sauce' on the flautas. the flautas are reallygood- but the sauce is a total travesty.

the rellenos aregoodas are the fajitas in whatever species you prefer.

be sure to try the creamy jalapeño ranch with your chips. it has tons of finely diced mild jalapeños swimming in the ranch dressing. so good!

they also offer hatch pepper sauce. it too is great on chips but you may find it more than a bit spicy. being a beef broth based sauce it has interesting undertones.
