apple cake tea room

delightful!. i've been taking my daughters to thetearoom since 1994. whenever they had a day off school or good report card, we went. during college breaks, we went. now, years later, we always find time to eat here when visiting our old hometown. we always order thetearoom medley & spicetea& get more muffins to take home for breakfast. lots of wonderful memories for us. you won't be disappointed! love the crepe dessert too.

very disappointed..my mother sister niece and i have made apple caketearoom a lunch stop destination every mothers day and birthday for almost 15 years now but recently (and it could be the economy or a bad day), the food was quite bland, lacking the usual high quality freshness we came to love.the servings were meager and overall stale.still, we hope it was just a bad day so we can return and enjoy the b&b country charm we knew it to be from previous visits.

this is so over rated! the spicedteawill give you heart burn. the croissants and chicken salad a mushy and the fruit in fruit glaze is soooo 1950! the open face turkey sandwich was disgusting. everyone in there was 50 or over! wonder how much longer they will have a customer base?

chicken salad, fruit, banana bread and chips. everything was very spot on. great ambiance.

i found great place to eat. i found thetearoom by accident but totally fell in love with look of place and the food and staff were pure bliss. great place to just relax and enjoy food. must try at least once will be return customer for life.

apple caketearoom sounded like my kinda place when i read the reviews and saw a few pictures...and i wasn't disappointed. we took dave's little sister with us for an afternoon of shopping and ended up here. it's this adorable restaurant inside a log cabin looking building, decorated like an adorable antique shop with quilts on the walls and dim lighting...

bad service even before i went. i contacted this restaurant because i wanted to hold ateafor my red hat group. i had been told by others that the food was good and the location was good for us as a group. i called to see if a group of 18 could be accommodated and was told yes and that i would be mailed a menu and group pricing options since they have no web-site and the person i spoke with did not want to take the time to tell me over the phone (i called about 2:20 since they close at 2:30. i thought they would be less busy at this time but perhaps she just wanted to go home.). i have waited over a week and still received nothing. as our event date is approaching, i will be making reservations elsewhere.

nothing special and overpriced. i prefer lulu's for atearoom experience.

small portions for too much. took a friend there for her birthday. i had been before one time and thought i would try again. it's a quaint place and i like the atmosphere although at busy times it gets a bit noisy. mostly women. haha. we both ordered the chicken salad with the banana bread, fruit and chips. the chicken salad is a small ice cream scoop portion on a piece of the lettuce. the banana bread are two tiny mice sized pieces. the chips are a handful which i felt did'nt compliment the meal. the fruit was a decent bowl size and delicious. the chicken salad is good but i've had better. it is pulverized chicken with no grapes, or celery in it. nothing identifiable in it but chicken. and a tiny sprinkle of pecan chips on top. the price was $8.75. the friendshipteathey serve cold or hot. i got cold. it was served in a skinny glass and seemed to need more sweetener. it was $2.50 with free refills. the service was friendly. parking was at a premium at peak noon time. the pineapple and chicken salad with grapes looked like a better option as i saw as they passed by with them for other customers.

love that spiced tea! bad service, though. i recently visited thetearoom, which is a rare treat since i work and don't get to go unless i have a day off. i had the chicken salad croissant and banana bread and of course the spiced tea. i go just for theteait's so good. the food was delicious, but i feel it is overpriced. the worst part of my visit was the waitress. she was so unfriendly i felt uncomfortable my whole visit. never once even smiled and the service was terrible. it made me mad since i can almost never go, i'd like to be able to fully enjoy it when i can. still i love the log cabin and theteaand will go again someday. i just wish they would expand their hours to be more accommodating to those of us who work and can't get there during lunch hours.

nice littletearoom in a log cabin. try the friendship tea, which is iced with orange & spices. they bring a complimentary bran mini muffin, which is moist & delicious. service was quick & friendly.

theirtearoom medley is wonderful! just wish they were open later than 2

chicken salad is incredible but portions are very small. a sandwich with chips &teais $10. i'd say it should 2 $$ instead of 1.

love this charming restaurant!!. my sisters and i, and many of my friends, have enjoyed this quaint and delicious eatery for years! every time my younger sister comes to town, it's a must-have and makes top priority on our list of things to do! the food, as always, is incredible! chicken salad on a croissant with a side of the banana nut bread with cream cheese is our fav. and of course, the friendship tea~it really sums up what the apple caketearoom is all about! we are always greeted with a warm welcome and the and service is excellent. we have made many precious memories here with friends and family over the years~celebrating birthdays, graduations & friendships. now that we have kids of our own, we enjoy bringing them to our favoritetearoom and making new memories overteaand lunch!

no small children wanted???. my husband and i recently moved back to the knoxville area from georgia. we are both professionals while i am currently staying home with our two children (5 yrs and a baby). we went to eat at the apple caketearoom several times since we moved here and my in laws enjoyed going when they were in town. the first time we went we learned that they only had a hot dog and pbj of which my daughter eats neither so she sat patiently and waited for the grown ups to eat. we have no family here so we recently brought in something for my daughter to eat so that my husband and i could still come to eat at this restaurant. we had done this before as we called and they told us to bring her food with us and we would have to sit in a designated area. after lunch, the waitress informed us that the owner had charged us a fee for our child to eat the food we brought. i went to the owner and she proceeded to tell me how horrible the children make messes in her restaurant with the brought in food and i assumed that is why she charges a fee. she said i will remove the fee this time but you do not know how messy it gets with these children. the owner stated that many children bring in food and i sensed this was irritating to her. i suggested maybe she could expand her children's menu. she stated she cannot please everyone and the fee was nominal. i will not return due to the principal of the matter and it is such a shame since our family enjoyed it previously. i do not feel like the owner or her front-end staff really desires children in their establishment. the reason i state this is due to when we came in and politely stated our daughter brought food as to sit in the designated area, whispering started and i was told it was going to be quite a wait. this critique is for all of us who have children who like more of a choice than a hot dog and pbj and enjoy feeling welcome where we are spending our money.

ok, even if you're a guy!. this is atearoom, so when you go in you see ladies. but i've eaten there several times and the food is well-prepared and the staff is attentive.
