apple cake tea room

today the meal was great but i ordered some to take home for breakfast and i looked at it and noticed it was not like what they serve with your meal. the banana bread they serve is real dense and moist (does not crumble). what they substitute is a lighter banana bread like the one i bake at home. i am so disappointed in this restaurant, it really changed my feelings about going there. it was like they tried to pull something over on you. my daughter is suppose to come down in the morning and enjoy it with me but i have to call her now and tell her not to drive here it’s not worth it.

the food is good. the chicken salad is good. i love the banana bread is awesome! i like going there by myself and take a book. the staff however is a different story. i don't find them to be friendly at all.

delightful!. i've been taking my daughters to the tea room since 1994. whenever they had a day off school or good report card, we went. during college breaks, we went. now, years later, we always find time to eat here when visiting our old hometown. we always order the tea room medley & spice tea & get more muffins to take home for breakfast. lots of wonderful memories for us. you won't be disappointed! love the crepe dessert too.

very disappointed..my mother sister niece and i have made apple cake tea room a lunch stop destination every mothers day and birthday for almost 15 years now but recently (and it could be the economy or a bad day), the food was quite bland, lacking the usual high quality freshness we came to love.the servings were meager and overall stale.still, we hope it was just a bad day so we can return and enjoy the b&b country charm we knew it to be from previous visits.

this place needs some updates, not talking about the place, it's interesting with collections of everything. the food was kind of s&s cafeteria like. stuck in the past. that's fine for the decor but what was a special menu 30 years ago not so much today. the potato soup was delicious and creamy but you better like celery. the fruit is not fresh. the "glaze" is pie filling, so of course the seven-year-old loved it. the chicken salad was very plain nothing special about it. the chips were just plain wavy potato chips out of the bag. the complimentary bran muffin that was brought in the beginning was a really nice touch but i expected something apple since its in the name.

worst experience i've had. .the food was ok. .but they do not like for you to bring babies. ..never offered a high chair. ..told us we couldn't place the car seat on a chair and pull it close enough to feed the baby. because it's so small and it would interfere with the next table. my daughter really wanted us to have a nice lunch today before our shopping trip. ..the baby was so good never made a sound while we were there. ..we feed thebaby stretching acoss the table and my daughter lost her appetite and didn't even eat. .our bill was almost 30 bucks for a scoop of tuna and chips. ....i would not recommended this place to anyone with kids. it ruined our day out.

this is so over rated! the spiced tea will give you heart burn. the croissants and chicken salad a mushy and the fruit in fruit glaze is soooo 1950! the open face turkey sandwich was disgusting. everyone in there was 50 or over! wonder how much longer they will have a customer base?

chicken salad, fruit, banana bread and chips. everything was very spot on. great ambiance.

i found great place to eat. i found the tea room by accident but totally fell in love with look of place and the food and staff were pure bliss. great place to just relax and enjoy food. must try at least once will be return customer for life.

apple cake tea room sounded like my kinda place when i read the reviews and saw a few pictures...and i wasn't disappointed. we took dave's little sister with us for an afternoon of shopping and ended up here. it's this adorable restaurant inside a log cabin looking building, decorated like an adorable antique shop with quilts on the walls and dim lighting...

bad service even before i went. i contacted this restaurant because i wanted to hold a tea for my red hat group. i had been told by others that the food was good and the location was good for us as a group. i called to see if a group of 18 could be accommodated and was told yes and that i would be mailed a menu and group pricing options since they have no web-site and the person i spoke with did not want to take the time to tell me over the phone (i called about 2:20 since they close at 2:30. i thought they would be less busy at this time but perhaps she just wanted to go home.). i have waited over a week and still received nothing. as our event date is approaching, i will be making reservations elsewhere.

no soup for you? here, that's a good thing!. i ordered the french onion soup as my meal and it was just short of swill. a tasteless brown broth with a few limp onions floating around maybe three croutons. there usually present cheese, at least in every other french onion soup that i have ever had in the many other states to which i have travelled, was absent. my table mates, most of whom are more accustomed to dining than i, were equally as disappointed.

to make matters worse, as i checked out, the short, blonde women who was assisting the cashier made a rude comment quite loudly about my leaving the coinage to add to the already prearranged 20% tip that was set as we were greater than a party of 8. granted, it wasn't a great amount, however, anything over 20% is extra and comments, rude or otherwise, made by staff should be kept to oneself and, most certainly not made in front of customers.

i will not return. i found the menu pricey, the soup inedible, and the service (at least the lasting memory), distasteful.

good but.

apple cake. i love their apple cake. i have made apple cake but the cake they serve you can't find any apples. i don't understand that. it is great. maybe some of you real good cooks can explain that to me. :-)

nothing special and overpriced. i prefer lulu's for a tea room experience.
