apple cake tea room

the food is good. the chickensaladis good. i love the banana bread is awesome! i like going there by myself and take a book. the staff however is a different story. i don't find them to be friendly at all.

this place needs some updates, not talking about the place, it's interesting with collections of everything. the food was kind of s&s cafeteria like. stuck in the past. that's fine for the decor but what was a special menu 30 years ago not so much today. the potato soup was delicious and creamy but you better like celery. the fruit is not fresh. the "glaze" is pie filling, so of course the seven-year-old loved it. the chickensaladwas very plain nothing special about it. the chips were just plain wavy potato chips out of the bag. the complimentary bran muffin that was brought in the beginning was a really nice touch but i expected something apple since its in the name.

this is so over rated! the spiced tea will give you heart burn. the croissants and chickensalada mushy and the fruit in fruit glaze is soooo 1950! the open face turkey sandwich was disgusting. everyone in there was 50 or over! wonder how much longer they will have a customer base?

small portions for too much. took a friend there for her birthday. i had been before one time and thought i would try again. it's a quaint place and i like the atmosphere although at busy times it gets a bit noisy. mostly women. haha. we both ordered the chickensaladwith the banana bread, fruit and chips. the chickensaladis a small ice cream scoop portion on a piece of the lettuce. the banana bread are two tiny mice sized pieces. the chips are a handful which i felt did'nt compliment the meal. the fruit was a decent bowl size and delicious. the chickensaladis good but i've had better. it is pulverized chicken with no grapes, or celery in it. nothing identifiable in it but chicken. and a tiny sprinkle of pecan chips on top. the price was $8.75. the friendship tea they serve cold or hot. i got cold. it was served in a skinny glass and seemed to need more sweetener. it was $2.50 with free refills. the service was friendly. parking was at a premium at peak noon time. the pineapple and chickensaladwith grapes looked like a better option as i saw as they passed by with them for other customers.

love that spiced tea! bad service, though. i recently visited the tea room, which is a rare treat since i work and don't get to go unless i have a day off. i had the chickensaladcroissant and banana bread and of course the spiced tea. i go just for the tea it's so good. the food was delicious, but i feel it is overpriced. the worst part of my visit was the waitress. she was so unfriendly i felt uncomfortable my whole visit. never once even smiled and the service was terrible. it made me mad since i can almost never go, i'd like to be able to fully enjoy it when i can. still i love the log cabin and the tea and will go again someday. i just wish they would expand their hours to be more accommodating to those of us who work and can't get there during lunch hours.

chickensaladis incredible but portions are very small. a sandwich with chips & tea is $10. i'd say it should 2 $$ instead of 1.

i am very picky, the cksaladis great! the bananna bread is really good also. i have always just had carry out, so not sure on the service while eating there. carry out is good though

love this charming restaurant!!. my sisters and i, and many of my friends, have enjoyed this quaint and delicious eatery for years! every time my younger sister comes to town, it's a must-have and makes top priority on our list of things to do! the food, as always, is incredible! chickensaladon a croissant with a side of the banana nut bread with cream cheese is our fav. and of course, the friendship tea~it really sums up what the apple cake tea room is all about! we are always greeted with a warm welcome and the and service is excellent. we have made many precious memories here with friends and family over the years~celebrating birthdays, graduations & friendships. now that we have kids of our own, we enjoy bringing them to our favorite tea room and making new memories over tea and lunch!

excellent. the best chickensaladin the world. and the banana bread is great. definitely recommend you give it a try. yes, guys eat there too.

cozy and quaint atmosphere coupled with quality service makes the apple cake tea room one of my favorite eateries in knox! the chickensaladis a must!! try it paired w/ layeredsaladand twice baked potato for a real treat!
