fantastic! one of atlanta's best. the place is a little house turned into a restaurant and you get to sit with in the same area where the cooks are. the big ceramic ovens add a lot of european flare to the amostphere. the pizza cooks extremely fast at 900 degrees. the place is small which is ok during weekdays but i can imagine in weekends it must be hard to find a seat. the pizza is out of this world and the cannolis are also superb. the place is just plain fun!. a couple of minor drawbacks. the pies are expensive compared to chain pizzas, come in only one size, and you can't pick the ingredients but the different combination of pies should have something for everyone. also the cuteitalianbrunnete that took our orders is nice if you engage her in some conversation. go and check this place out. you'll love this pizza!

we recently visited antico pizza after a suggestion from a friend of ours. while it is located in western atlanta near other restaurant hot spots, it is somewhat off the beaten path giving it a hole-in-the-wall, down-home feel from the outside. the menu is strictly pizza but not your stereotypical american varieties. their pizzas are all unique but delicious. our pizza, topped with mushrooms and artichokes, was out of this world. no alcohol is served, but it is byob, so i recommend stopping by the grocery store and picking up your favorite brew beforehand. you can watch from your rudimentary wooden table and seats as your pizza made, but make no mistake, this is not a dirty, low-class pizza joint. it has a great atmosphere complimented by classyitalianmusic. the service was fast, polite, and seemed to really enjoy their work. i recommend getting there early as they close when they run out of dough. overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience and will definitely be returning.

good but didn't live up to the hype. i ordered the diavola which came with spicy sopressata, pepperonata, and bufala. it was very enjoyable. having authenticitalianpizza is a real treat and i would suggest it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.

so what did i like about the pizza? in a country where the majority of pizza contains jarred sauce, processed cheese, and frozen meats, having a made from scratch pizza with all fresh ingredients really makes a difference in taste. anyone can tell the difference between low quality products that aren’t fresh and the stuff that antico uses. the taste surpasses any pizza you have had in the past and promises to be a unique experience.

what did i not like? after everything i heard about this place, i was expecting the pizza to be carried out on a golden pedestal with angels singing. however, this was not the case. what happened was that there was a line out the door and a full restaurant so the workers were slapping the pizza together. as soon as it came out of the oven they slammed it into a box, the lady half way cuts in a terrible fashion, and between all the chaos my pizza didn’t cook evenly. the dough was burnt on one side and the other was about perfect. once i had my hastily put together pizza, it was shoved in my hands and i was shoved out the door soon thereafter. when i did dig into it the peppers were scrunched on one side, the bufala was spotty at best with a few bites being completely without it, and combined with a few burned bites of dough, it was just not the perfectly crafted pizza i had heard it was.

what?! u kidding?!. i really don't understand what all the fuss is about concerning this place. the owner and staff don't know what they're doing...they can't even communicate because the staff isitalianand the owner is american and doesn't speakitalian(those he makes a ridiculous attempt, just to please the crowd - if there happen to be journalists present).several of the staff are rude, the music is atrociously loud, and the owner has a ridiculously huge ego that just won't quit. he thinks he's all-that and always prefaces any talk about his restaurant with "my multi-million dollar business". almost as if he needs to reassure himself that his place is worth the hype (it isn't). plus, his son is always there (isn't that against the law?) and makes customers crazy. you can see on people's faces that they came for a pizza, and don't want the included entertainment by an 8-year who has a penchant for guns and bombs. oh, and i'm not really sure how this guy got his pizza-making certificate. watching him work the pies is like watching mickey mouse make pizza.

best enjoyed in the privacy of one's own home.. i had been looking forward to sampling this very special pizza since a friend told me about it. he was correct, it is probably the best pizza in the city. so much so that once tasted, every other pie will be anticlimactic and seem prefab. it will be a real struggle to have to back to eating any other pizza. this is the real deal and better or just as good as all of the hype surrounding it. that's the good news.

the bad news isn't so bad really, since the pizza is the most important part of the story. once ordered, get the pizza, put plenty of fresh chopped garlic and grated parmesan cheese on it, carry it out and enjoy it in the quiet comfort of you own home. the dining experience at antico pizza is a memorable one, for all of the wrong reasons.

table space is very limited and will undoubtedly be family style. you will be sitting in the kitchen and it will be uncomfortably hot and cramped. the combination of the room acoustics, blaringitalianmusic and the multitude of voices, make the atmosphere absolutely unbearable. also be aware that there is a sink located near the front room dining table, were most customers go to wash their hands as well as to fill up their cups with drinking water. i do not know how this gets by the health inspector. the lone restroom isn't even marked so it is a bit tricky to find the first time.

service is less than polished. when i ordered two waters with my margarita pizza they charged me for bottled water that i did not request. i then received someone else's pizza and i mentioned this to the order person. by the time the one that we ordered arrived, they tried to assure us it was the same as the wrong one we were given. it was not. our correct pizza was noticeably larger and of course, fresh and hot out of the oven. they ended up making a new one for us.

i have no problem paying close to $18.00 for six, thin slices of pizza when considering the superior quality of the product. what i will not do is have my digestive tract jostled during the eating process by noise levels approaching that of a 747 during takeoff.

this has got to be some of the best pizza i have eaten. they import all the ingredients from italy and the seating inside is unique and gives you the feeling of being inside a pizza factory withitalianmusic playing in the background.
we ordered the pomodorini and diavolo pizza and both were absolutely amazing-- thin crust, flavourful with the right amount of ingredients. you can top it ff with the red chili and a sweet chili sauce that they offer as condiments on the side. plus you can bring your own alcohol, so it doesn't get any better.

take it from a guy who has spent 17 summers in italy. this is by far the most authenticitalianpizza in atlanta. and possibly the us. you can enjoy your pizza in their back yard while listening to authenticitaliancafe music drinking your very own bottle of chianti imported from tuscany.

best pizza in atlanta just ahead of amazza and varuni napoli. it is a relaxed and lively atmosphere where you share tables with your fellow patrons. the option to byob is awesome. the best pizza in my opinon is the diavolo. spicy and meaty and overall perfect. best part is you can go next door and get the bestitalianroasted chicken next door at gios. can't recommend it enough.

fantastic!. i have always been told that when i visit atlanta that i need to try antico pizza and it didn't disappoint. this location is situated right next to georgia tech university. i have to say that this is some pretty authentic neapolitan pizza. i ordered the san genero and found the combination of the san marzano-based sauce, the sausage and the red peppers to be pretty flavorful. the dining area is located next to the kitchen where you can watch the cooks work away as you listen toitalianmusic. a great find and it met all my expectations.

burnt basil on margherita. this was the first time i had a margherita where they cooked the basil (burned it to a crisp). i've always put the basil on afterwards, while the pizza is hot. delfina in sf does it like that. i went withitalianpeople, and they asked the manager why they did that and he answered that's the way they've always made them. and here i raved to my out of guests from italy about the authenticity of antico. so, i understand, that's not authentic. has anyone else had their basil cooked crispy on their margherita? i would not write this but i feel that the manager just didn't care to make things right for my guests, and at their insistence they wanted me to write a review. when you come to think about it, who would put fresh basil in a 800+degree oven, right?

food critics have no credibility. if this is what the food critics call a good pizza experience then someone is being paid off or i went to the wrong restaurant. my wife and i went to antico's about 1:00 last monday with high expectations based on several reviews including georgia traveler. we ordered the san gennaro, anitaliansausage pizza for $21 and a 8 oz coke for $2.75. the staff was no help at all and was quite rude. no adds, changes or deletions are allowed, sort of like the soup nazi. the pizza arrived in only 5 min but was cold and soggy. i have had pizza in rome italy and this was not it. since they do not make pizzas to order this one must have been sitting around for a while. we wanted to tell someone so we could get it heated up but there is no wait staff at all and no customer service and they do not care. i guess this is what they call low urban trendy. i call it a really bad dining experience. i cannot say enough bad things about this place. do not go there....unless you like arrogant staff, bad atmosphere, loud mexican music, overpriced food, and cold soggy pizza. if only the pizza had been good you might overlook all the other short comings. as we were leaving we saw the owner leave in his new black mercedes. that says it all....boy were we taken. repeat....avoid this place.

antico, the famed pizzeria napoletana found in midtown atlanta, has proven to have the best classic naples style pizza in the state of georgia by many a critic. its theme is simple; let the food do the talking. with all ingredients shipped in from napoli and campania, italy, (including the 10,000 lbs. ovens) the focus is obvious; they are all about authenticity. don’t get me wrong; i love the minimalistitalianthemed package. the simplyitalianinspired color palet
