favorite pizza ever. this was the best pizza i've ever had, hands down. the crust and sauce were both amazing. my friend and i had the diavaola, and one pie was more than enough for both of us (3 people could enjoy 2-3 slices each). the flavors here taste so fresh and like nothing i've ever had on any pizza. and, it was on our table within 5 minutes at 12:30 on a weekday. the pistachio dessert i had wasn't that exciting, but that was the only low point of the meal. can't wait to gobackand try the others.

best enjoyed in the privacy of one's own home.. i had been looking forward to sampling this very special pizza since a friend told me about it. he was correct, it is probably the best pizza in the city. so much so that once tasted, every other pie will be anticlimactic and seem prefab. it will be a real struggle to have tobackto eating any other pizza. this is the real deal and better or just as good as all of the hype surrounding it. that's the good news.

the bad news isn't so bad really, since the pizza is the most important part of the story. once ordered, get the pizza, put plenty of fresh chopped garlic and grated parmesan cheese on it, carry it out and enjoy it in the quiet comfort of you own home. the dining experience at antico pizza is a memorable one, for all of the wrong reasons.

table space is very limited and will undoubtedly be family style. you will be sitting in the kitchen and it will be uncomfortably hot and cramped. the combination of the room acoustics, blaring italian music and the multitude of voices, make the atmosphere absolutely unbearable. also be aware that there is a sink located near the front room dining table, were most customers go to wash their hands as well as to fill up their cups with drinking water. i do not know how this gets by the health inspector. the lone restroom isn't even marked so it is a bit tricky to find the first time.

service is less than polished. when i ordered two waters with my margarita pizza they charged me for bottled water that i did not request. i then received someone else's pizza and i mentioned this to the order person. by the time the one that we ordered arrived, they tried to assure us it was the same as the wrong one we were given. it was not. our correct pizza was noticeably larger and of course, fresh and hot out of the oven. they ended up making a new one for us.

i have no problem paying close to $18.00 for six, thin slices of pizza when considering the superior quality of the product. what i will not do is have my digestive tract jostled during the eating process by noise levels approaching that of a 747 during takeoff.

take it from a guy who has spent 17 summers in italy. this is by far the most authentic italian pizza in atlanta. and possibly the us. you can enjoy your pizza in theirbackyard while listening to authentic italian cafe music drinking your very own bottle of chianti imported from tuscany.

i will never gobackto anticos nor will i ever recommend this place to anyone. i have never been treated with such rudeness. yesterday was my birthday and my family of 6, including 2 grandchildren went there for supper. when they brought our calzone pizza, it looked like an overstuffed hot dog bun with ricotta. i asked what happened to their pizzas because we had eaten there often and the calzones never looked like that? the servers don’t speak much english so the owner came up and said that is a calzone if you don’t want it i will give you money back. i said i don’t want my money but i wanted a pizza like we were used to getting not a kid’s size pizza. he said here take your money and never come back. i asked are you the owner and he said yes. we left. the pizzas might be authentic from naples but the rudeness, mean and ungrateful attitude ruined my appetite for anything to do with that place. from now on frittis in inman park will get our business.

great, authentic pizza!. i was born in naples, still have family in naples, and gobackto visit every few years. this is the closest to the real neapolitan pizza that i've ever had in the usa. yes this place can be chaotic but if you've ever been to naples, that is the culture. so, get over the fact that it's not your typical american pizza restaurant and just enjoy a really good pizza with ingredients you may never have tried if it wasn't for this place.

overhype!!. i've read a lot about this place as antico has become one of the local media darlings within the atlanta food scene. went here with my wife and one of my kids on a saturday arriving to a full parking lot at about 12:10 pm. after finding a spot, we walked into a packed full place. the place is quite small and it was certainly standing room only. it was clear we weren't going to get a seat, but since we were here we were all game on trying the pizza so we ordered one to go. i wanted to order a simple pepperoni and sausage (due to child's palate) but they refused without reason, only saying in soup nazi fashion "one meat per pizza!" - i assumed that perhaps they felt more than one meat might make the pizza too greasy. i'll buy that train of thought, but i don't know since i didn't get a clear answer from them. so i ordered a margherita with pepperoni, which they allowed me to do. pizza was a pricey $23. ordered 3 cokes as well - stay clear of these! it will set youback$2.75 each for a cute, little 8.5 oz bottle of coke. so we stood in a standing room only place, filled mainly with 20 somethings, whom likely for many were ready and willing to add antico to their already bulging credit card statements. our number is called quickly (it only takes 60 seconds for their pizzas to cook) and out the door we go, walking out with pizza raised above my head so that i could get out the door. at this point, we are still very optimistic about the pizza we are about to eat. opening the pizza box on the trunk of the car, standing up in the parking lot, we dive into the pizza. the pizza had good flavor, but not great flavor. the pepperoni (admittedly our choice) made it quite greasy. the pizza also could have been cooked another 15 seconds as the crust was just starting to tan. overall, i would give the following ratings: pizza flavor: average, experience: below average, prices/value: ridiculously high. it is always interesting to me how hype and trends blossom. i believe that many times people jump on board because they want to be with the latest trend and don't want to be on the outside looking in. but why convince yourself something is great when it really isn't? it's all about personal preference, but many people so often get caught up in hype (pet rock anyone?). and with most overhyped food establishments, like this one, i don't get it. and in the end, i don't care either. let those spend their money where they want. i'll continue to follow flavor and experience by voting with my wallet.

best authetic pizza in atlanta. i was treated to antico's about 8 months ago since i have beenback4 times.
each time i was treated to a wonderful authentic napoli pizza, with authentic ingredience and gentle but intence flavors. not bland, commercial, uninteresting pizza. the fist time i tried the san genero, just the right ingredience and flavors in each bite. the small peppers they have on the condiment table were incredible, with a great pepper to salt to olive oil flavors melding in my mouth.
next we tried the diavola, spicy salami and pepperes and bufalo mozz, wonderful, delicious. next was the sophia a special mushroom pizza in memory of sophia loren another delicous concoction.
the amazing thing is the ovens in thebackso hot they can cook a pizza in about 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
on one occasion we ordered our pizza and went into thebackto sit down and the pizza was server in about 1 minute after. we time from dough strech to pulling it from the oven to server 2minute 46 seconds.
this is an experience to sit at communal tables and share with friends and strangers alike. my first time i was whining about not bringing a beer with me fr this and the gentle strangers next to us offer me one of theirs. i will always comebackto antico

not the ny pie i grew up eating....this is what you'd have in naples or other parts of italy. don't expect much in the service here and don't go on a friday/saturday evening....just too packed.backto the pizza - unbelievable. it's that good.

wonderful. a friend of mine suggested trying out antico, and i'm glad i listened. ordered the bianca (white pizza) and it was delicious. it was huge, my fiance and i over-stuffed ourselves and still had a slice leftover. we tried the marinara dipping sauce, also delicious.
a cool atmosphere, but i could see how seating could be a problem .maybe that's more of a thing on the weekends, on a monday night, we didn't have a problem, although it was very crowded. however, our pizza came out in about 5 minutes. i was impressed on all levels, will be goingbackoften!

best pizza i've had. i could gush, but i'll rein it in. this is easily better than wonderful italian pizza i have had... in italy! something about the crust... it's a crazy experience going to antico. good luck finding a place to sit! we waited in line for it to open and got seats in the kitchen which was great fun. no plates. everyone eats at long tables off of the aluminum trays the pizza goes on after coming out of the oven. the pizzas are big. there were 5 of us (2 guys & 3 girls) and we ordered 2 pizzas and had a couple slices left over. be sure and elbow your way to the condiment bar and get a cup of olive oil and add-ins to dip the delecious crust in. i would gobacktonight. loved it.
