al iwan - burj al arab

visited this place for their evening buffet. less options for the vegetarians. service is great however the food options are okay. the staff realized that and served us a platter of chicken kebabs. tried the 24k gold drink non alcoholic. basically apple juice. the drink was super good!

last friday we all went to al iwan, actually it was mind blowing experience to be in burj al arab. and honestly the food was so tasty and we drank lots of fresh juices...great to be there we enjoyed every bit of our time...

located in the breathtaking burj al arab, we visited al iwan since it was featured in the 'luxury iftar venues' collection.

it is a buffet restaurant offering arabic and middle eastern cuisines. despite the luxurious ambience and the lovely staff, the restaurant was surprisingly not as impressive as the hotel itself.

the buffet was well spread out with a good variety of salads, starters (such as fattoush, moutabel and hummus), meats (cuts of chicken and lamb), lamb biryani and desserts. however each item was quite medicore, even the desserts. there was hardly any flavor to any of the dishes and there was not one dish which made us want to grab a second time. the best items so far were the soups and the complimentary birthday cake which was a layered chocolate cake.

the service on the other hand was impeccable. the staff was very helpful with enquiries about the food and offered to point out the contents of the dishes which could cause an allergic reaction.

the ambience, without a doubt, was beautiful with embroidered red curtains and lavish seatings. we had the window seating which was perfect as it had a good view of the sea.

overall it was a hit n miss since the ambience is what made the dining experience worthwhile while the food was a disappointment.

we went there for lunch on a weekday and honestly i did not find the buffet too impressive, but not bad either. had better indian options than the arabic ones 😜.
for the price you pay, the service and ambience is not that good. it's in the main lobby area of the property and hence very crowded and noisy. certainly found the bab al yam restaurant within the same property much better.

i had been here for dinner.
firstly the hotel is 7 star and its most expensive.
the architect of this hotel is awesome specially the lobby.
coming to this restaurant its arabic restaraunt with palace ambience.
i had chosed dinner buffet which comes around rupees15000/ per person.
the arabic food was tasty but buffet items where less compared to the price we pay..
service is excellent no question about it.
worth visit.

one of the outstanding experiences here in dubai, as it was a birthday celebration everything went so perfect and professional, their dark chocolate complimentary cake is just heaven 😍 the service is really 7 stars and our waiter ranjan was so friendly and professional , if there was more than 5 to rate i would rate more and more

superb buffet.
loved view . good variety for vegetarians tooooo. loved the welcome drink. desserts were lovely. service is good. have been there thrice already.

great food with amazing with , buffet had variety , complimentary cake was really delicious too .. the interior gives you a royal feeling ..

i didn't have big hopes for this buffet after reading some of the reviews, and after dining at another buffet in burj a arab. but l was pleasantly surprised and absolutely loved it! the service was amazing, the best ever i must say, our waiter was so attentive and friendly. loved the red and gold decor of the restaurant, very nice relaxing chill out music! if you come early , you get to see beautiful sea view. i absolutely loved the place and its ambiance!!! the food was also really good. my favorite things were paneer masala, shrimp curry , lentil soup and lamb rice. the desserts were even better than the food! they have the best umm ali i've ever had in my life! lovely kunafa too(not the best one), yummy baklava and other arabic /lebanese sweets. the price per person is 550aed, not including soft or alcoholic drinks. but if you use entertainer vouchers, it's a good value. overall loved it, one of the best buffets i've tried. we had a great time there.

whilst i'm not normally a fan of arabic food (wife is) this buffet is exceptional. the service is excellent, very attentive, friendly but not stuffy or over bearing. being able to use an entertainer voucher made it very good value. would highly recommend.

today i went to al iwan for my birthday it was my first visit to al iwan. the food and the ambience were all not as nice as per the price. they are charging 550 per person and it doesnt even include water or soft drinks which is weird as per the price paid. the food variety was very less as compare to the price even with half of this price you can get better buffet at another 5 star restaurants. poor service and poor birthday celebration. the only thing make this restaurant running is that it is inside the 7 star burj al arab hotel. would not recommend this restaurant at all to food lovers.

located in burj al arab, serving arabic / lebanese food. the best thing about this restaurant is the plush interiors. the view from the restaurant of the sea is beautiful. off course being in a 7 star hotel, the staff is very professional, friendly and courteous. the food was very good. there was a mix of kebab grill, juicy and fresh. i also liked the shrimp majboos and fish sharmola. ended with a few good lebanese deserts..

now let's be real , it's all about the location so if you are planning to impress someone and get a good portion of food as oppose to tiny plates . this is the place to be, as it's a buffet with a mainly arabic selection . some items could have been cooked better but the freshness across the board is undeniable . enjoyed the complimentary cake and rose for my husband since it was his birthday.!
