this is the meal i'll remember in sc, and remember it fondly. i would not have believed what they can do with grits. absolutely delicious food. and the bartenders know their trade. i could not have been more pleased with this outing.

this is another place i don't frequent, but went to on a date last year. i remember that experience being better than this time. last year, i had a breakfast burrito (which i think was a one-time special). it was delicious. this time, after not finding the burrito on the menu, i ordered biscuits and gravy with home fries. i grew up with homemade sausage gravy from the pigs on our farm cooked by a very southern grandmother. acme's gravy isn't bad, but not what i was hoping for. the mimosas made me forget about missing my grandma's cooking. we were there mid-week so i'm guessing it was the best "slow time" for them, but the maintenance lady was on the patio near us repairing the roof or something during our meal on their nice covered patio.

i know we are the land of fried okra and fried green tomatoes....but you must come here! the okra was served with a squash puree and a homemade blueberry jam, made a tad more savory by adding some onion (i want his recipe).  for entrees i had the pan fried grouper, which was so very delicious. my husband had the blackened black drum, sadly, over cooked and tough - but, because everything else was so, so delicious we did not let it color our opinion. plus, my grouper piece was very large, he was happy to share. the green field beans were perfectly done. the sides were a tad too heavy on salt for mine and our companions taste buds - but again, we will come back!! we had out of town guests and courtney was so polite and patient with the wine selection for one of our guests. she was helpful with sides and both her, the restaurant and more importantly the chef were very good about sides and accommodating different taste buds! gosh, i am ready for that meal again today!!!!

great low country dinner. had to wait over an hour but was worth every minute. the food is fabulous. came here hoping we would get some authentic southern comfort food. we were not disappointed. we recommend this place to everyone. the executive chef came out to see if we liked the food and michele was a super server.

16 year old scheduling....?. been a few times now and the food is great, however the two 16yr girls that are scheduling should be fired. one night we were told a two hour wait and the place was dead, so my wife and i went to a bar nearby. when we returned place was still dead, even through dinner the restaurant was pretty empty to include the enclosed patio. i'm on the fence if i want to spend money on a dinning experience where i'm pissed the whole night. save your money plenty of other places....!

we have eaten here for dinner, but this was our first time for breakfast. we did not think to try it, because there is a place almost next door know for their breakfast on the island. well, really glad we did since this was even better than the other place. i got the lowcountry rancheros, and my wife for the crab cake eggs benedict. both were phenomenal. can't wait to go back and try more!

we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated but i am sure it's because we went on a saturday night and it is obviously a popular place to eat.
once we were seated, the service was excellent and the food was even better!
we got the fried oyster rockefeller for an appetizer and the grilled mahi fish tacos with collards (that had a slight sweet taste to them) and stone ground grits with a tomato bacon gravy on top.
i highly suggest you stop in for dinner if you are ever in the area!

used to be a fave. was so excited to come back to acme - was a huge fan of their chips and salsa, wings, good food at good prices - now they've gotten snobby - not the good ol hole on the wall they once were. i used to recommend them, but i'm taking them off my list. they've gone high brow and give me a break , they're still a bar!!!! they were understaffed and bartender, hostess, and servers gawked when we wanted to sit at the empty bar where there was no bartender - nowhere else to sit - empty tables to sit folks yet a 45 min wait - get over yourselves!!!

if you like hooters food .... food was bad, our waitress was covered in hickies. the kalamari was underwhelming, with very small chunks of squid. it was as if long john silvers had made that dish. we ran. gross!
