i loooved this place when it first opened in market square. however the menu (along with its prices) have changed so much over the few years it's been open and every time i come back i find myself having less and less options that sound appetizing.

but the honey is always 10/10 🐝❤

good food, charming atmosphere, and nice service. a full selection of foods and drinks make tupelo honey a good place to eat a filling meal. flavorful food combined with good drinks and great atmosphere make for a great dining experience. bon appetite!

downtown asheville is bustling at night with many restaurants vying for your attention. this particular night, i chose tupelo honey cafe based on it’s zomato rating and it’s name. both the rating and the name were accurate! tupelo honey and a biscuit for an appetizer, tupelo honey vinaigrette salad, and carolina chicken sandwich. each was delicious in it’s own right. even on a week night, the crowd was such that we had to eat at the bar to avoid a long wait. exquisite food. large portions. very friendly staff. our waiter gave us advice on things to do around town. the bloody mary was spicy with an excellent taste. the fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, as well as their country breakfast should be tried. yum yum yum.

while perusing downtown asheville, my wife and i came upon this restaurant. our waitress recommended the wicked chicken sandwich, a spicy fried chicken sandwich, which i agreed to because i love spicy food. i also ordered a side of goat cheese grits, because that combination is meant to be. the wicked chicken sandwich had a nice level of spice, but lacked a crunchy batter much to my chagrin. the goat cheese grits were watery, lacking that thick smoothness i expect from good grits. to make matters worse, i didn't taste even the slightest hint of goat cheese in the grits. imagine bland grits soup and you'll know what i mean. overall, not bad, but not worth a return trip.

cozy but not cramped. very friendly people and a nice selection of beer and cocktails. a somewhat limited menu but that's ok as it allows them to concentrate on doing what they do very well. the okra appetizer is absolutely amazing and i was very pleasantly surprised by it. nicely done all around.

went here while at a conference and i loved it! i've always wanted to try this place and i finally got the chance. luckily i got there during happy hour and i had a chance to try the wings...yummmmm!!!! they were crisp and delicious. for dinner i had the salmon with green beans and mashed potatoes. everything was piping hot and fresh. i also had a good stiff drink, can't remember the name but i have a picture. everything was great! i would recommend this place plus they have a location in asheville, nc!!!

i took my family who came and visited from san diego here. they absolutely loved it we did dinner. we drink wine. the servers were very helpful and on point. the food was very well made. and had a unique twist of southern cooking that my family never had before but thoroughly enjoyed.

seem to be a lot of reviews around service but my experience there was great. we were waited on quickly, food came out fast and had no issues really. we got lunch and it was ok. not outstanding though. breakfast actually looked better than the lunch items we ordered.....so maybe next time. the bloody mary had a nice kick to it! the place is much bigger than i realized. has a bar and outside seating that i didn't even know was there until we left.

let me just say, the service on top of the food, was simply amazing. me and a friend had dinner there this evening, and were pleasantly surprised at how large the establishment is. we were seated immediately. our server was very friendly and provided excellent service. we had the shrimp tacos, and fried green tomatoes for appetizers. for our main dishes we had the shrimp and grits, and the scallops. those scallops, were nice and tender, the sauce the scallops, kale and grains lie so delicately on too, was the star of the show. it had a sweet yet tartness about it that hard to explain. our cocktail beverages were equally delightful! came wait to go back to try other options on the menu

really solid fare - not too pretentious, not overly simple. nice balance of high quality ingredients and preparation, but still grounded enough to make sure you're full when you leave and that prices aren't out of balance. it's not earth shattering fantastic, but it's hard to imagine leaving disappointed.

highlights: crispy brussel sprouts, fried chicken salad, apple cider bacon in any form.

amazing! had the special one night, fried currie chicken thighs. sat outside with the mrs. and friend, soaking in the square and its activities, enjoying some good local brew. service was spot on (there when you need, not when you didn't). desserts look great, but full!

spot on!!! we arrived to 2 very friendly hostesses. very accommodating! fantastic atmosphere. brought a blueberry compote that was like crack! they brought some for us to take home. yum! kitchen was fast, food was hot and amazing!!!!! sam our waitress was fast and prompt. we ordered the chicken biscuits i promise it is not like what you are thinking! chicken breast with a fresh biscuit smothered in gravy with basil and cheese plated with a kale coleslaw. spouse had poutin egg scramble. 5 stars to an amazing visit. definitely coming back !!! the

cute restaurant, busy, food is good, but you do not get your money's worth, you are paying for atmosphere and presentation more than anything.
