disappointing. to say that the food and service at thc were disappointing would be an understatement. thc definitely must have good marketing staff, because the restaurant is certainly nothing special. many other restaurants inashevilleare so much better!!

don't bother with thc. i expected more from tupelo honey. the food was so-so, definitely nothing special. overpriced for the quality. the servers kept busy, but there were obviously too few servers for the customers. tables weren't kept cleared. even biscuits were nothing special.

i can't remember when i first heard about the tupelo honey cafe .  it's sort of a "trend" spot in charlotte since it's fairly new to the area, and i kept seeing comments on social media that the food is spectacular.  every time we have driven or walked by the restaurant, it is super duper crowded.  anyone who knows my husband knows that he is too fidgety to sit around and wait for a table for too long.  so we never could commit to going there.       the original location is in asheville, and when matt & i were inashevillea few weekends ago we thought - we have got to get to the charlotte location.  since we are typically awake early on the weekend anyway thanks to a certain doggy, we decided to just head there right when they opened for breakfast to avoid the crowds.   first things first:  coffee.       and then everyone starts out their meal with the signature biscuits and jam.  these were so good.  i could have just eaten a couple of these biscuits and calle

after having visited the location inashevillei was disappointed. the service was great but the food average at best. the curry fried chicken was bland and slightly burned. the mac and cheese was great though.

recently dined at the southashevillelocation. nice atmosphere...miss the eggs crawley - hope they'll consider adding it back to the menu.

food...fine....attitude poor. i fell in love with the description of the barbeque plate, but it had roasted corn on the cob. to avoid having to cut the corn from the cob at the table and have it flying onto other diners (i had just hours previously gotten dentures), i asked if they could cut it from the cob. at first i was told absolutely not! then when i explained the situation, i was told they would do it "just this once". what happened to customer courtesy? i will not eat there again, and will not recommend it to to the many tourists who come into my shop in biltmore village. there are many other equally excellent food restaurants inashevillewhere the service and attitudes paint a wonderful dining memory for their guests!

our last day inashevillewe went to tupelo honey cafe for late breakfast/early lunch. the last time i was in asheville, i really wanted to try thc but did not have the chance. i'm glad we had a chance to go this time. we both ordered hot tea to warm up (we'd been walking around on chilly & windy day) and we ordered way too much food, but it was all good.

downtownashevilleis bustling  at night with many restaurants vying for your attention.  this particular night, i chose tupelo honey cafe based on it’s zomato rating and it’s name.  both the rating and the name were accurate!  tupelo honey and a biscuit for an appetizer, tupelo honey vinaigrette salad, and carolina chicken sandwich.  each was delicious in it’s own right.  even on a week night, the crowd was such that we had to eat at the bar to avoid a long wait.  (if you haven’t already, be sure to read my blog about asheville, nc and the biltmore estate.)

we were walking aroundashevillewithout a clue of where to go. tupelo honey looked inviting so we stopped there. we were warmly greeted and showed to a table immediately. servers with tables around us seemed very attentive. ours was not, she as clearly distracted by another table. we started off with some small plates and a margarita. there was nothing special about the salted beet salad or the scallops. they weren't bad just bland. the margarita wasn't to my liking and so instead of finishing our meal order we decided to try a different place. a lot of people did seem to enjoy their meals. between service and small plates it wasn't for us.

we chose this downtown location while inashevilleand overall a good experience. a little bit of a wait and we were one of the last tables to leave on saturday night. my shrimp and grits were ok but the apps i had were fantastic and the biscuits were very good.

an experience!!! we love tupelo honey downtown. great food! ourashevillefavorite. appalachian egg rolls with roast pork are fantastic. onion bisque is very very good. but everything so far has been wonderful. it seems like they're busy all the time but don't miss a visit to thc. the app to alert you on your phone when your table is ready is very helpful so you can browze the nearby galleries and shops if there's a wait. only negative for me is the time we sat at the bar (which is fun) and the bartender, who was our waiter, was just too busy at the bar to handle both jobs at the same time.

i don't get the hype. food is mediocre and on the high price side imo. there are so many places inashevillewith unique outstanding food. for me, this isn't one of them.

very disappointed. after eating at the one inashevillei was looking forward to this. there were 4 in our group and only 1 enjoyed the meal. 1 meal had to be sent back, it was like warm at best. the other 2 had no flavor extremely bland. i have had better flavored chicken and beef at a steak out. save your money and your taste buds go elsewhere. we will not be back.

tupelo cafe. friendly service and awesome food. it was the first restaurant we tried in theashevillearea and will certainly look for their other restaurants throughout n.c. food was delicious!

toto, it doesn’t look like we’re inashevilleanymore. with all the class and style expected of a cameron village restaurant, raleigh’s version of the eatery is complete with a sleek bar and a glass honeycomb dripping from the ceiling.
