trufire kitchen and bar

our firsttimehere was very impressive! we each got a cocktail suggested by our server, the gin's up and the strawberry smash. they were both delicious! we also shared a pizza (it was big enough to split), the latin fire pizza was amazing! overall, great food and service! a little pricey, but definately worth it!

we had walked by numeroustimealways noticing a good crowd thistimewe stopped in and were seated immediately . the menu is impressive while not overdone. the offering unique yet familiar. the presentation was exquisite the taste simply put amazing. the service didn't disappoint either. truly a must go. we stopped in on a whim and it set the tone for a wonderful evening.

i received poor service from the hostess and manager.. i called in advance for a 7p reservation on saturday night, i was told that was not an option but they had a 7:30p we received. i accepted. we all arrive about 5 minutes to 7:30p. the 1st issue was the hostess did not speak or acknowledge us as we walked in she spoke to the couple that walked in right after us and seated them immediately. as i stood at the hostess counter it was another couple minutes as another hostess who was holder the door letting all customers in greets me and states it will be a couple minutes before we will be seated. after about 6 minutes we are told the table is being cleaned off. after about 15 we are told the table is not ready and she needs to speak to the manager on how to handle our reservation. she returns and states we are trying to find you a seat or will ask the current seated people to move. from the bar we can see there is a table that will sit 8 that will accommodate our party of 5 but it was not offered to us, but i'll come back to that later. it not 17 minutes after our reservation and i refuse to leave, we will be served. i start wondering if they are treating us like this because we are the only blacks in the building being serviced. but i don’t play the race card, i keep it professional. the hostess and the manager tell me they called me to change my reservation but i didn’t have a missed call or voice mail. the manager tells me i must have given them the wrong number or it was taken down properly. well i don't get why you would call and tell someone you are moving them to an early reservation seems kind of weird to me but i shall move on. the finally sit us 20 minutes after our reservation and it’s at a round table for 4 and we are a group of 5 the table is set for 4 and she has to go find us a 5th chair so we all can be seated. then manager offers us an appetizer for the confusion. oh i remember that table of 8 a group of 6 came in after us and we seated at the table 5 minutes after they squeezed us in the table of 4, as arsenio hall would say “things that make you go hmmm”. the entiretimei feel like the manager is watching the table and of course she came at the end to let me know she confirmed her hostesses called me and told me to come earlier and i was mistaken. so i am not sure if this night was a series of unfortunate events or it was about the color of our skin, but the waiter was excellent and everyone enjoyed the food.
i hope mgmt takestimeto read this message and makes necessary adjustments so no one else has the experience i received.

absolutely fabulous! the crab dip was awesome! we had fabulous service and they even brought us free dessert because we mentioned it was our firsttimeto eat there. we will definitely return!!!

went for the firsttimetoday for happy hour. they have it 7 days a week. our waiter was a great... really good service. food was good, but was a little overpriced. the drinks though were really good, and at the happy hour prices on drinks i guessed it evened out.

last night we visited trufire for the second year to celebrate my sisters birthday. after waiting for 45 minutes for a table for seven our table was given to another party. we had two kids that were hungry and we were the only group that had been waiting for a table. when i asked the hostess what happened, she could not explain what she had done. i immediately asked for the manager (who had come by 15 minutes before and apologized for the wait) who was in the kitchen. after waiting for him for 5 minutes, i went back to the kitchen and explained to him what had just happened. all he said was that he was sorry but could not explain why we had not been seated and did not attempt to rectify the situation. we left and went across the parking lot to eat at another restaurant. even though we waited together as a family inside the restaurant and felt a chill everytimethe entrance door opened, we could have spent that 45 minutes eating at another restaurant but we chose trufire. we will never go to trufire again and for a restaurant that is not a chain, every customer should matter.

service. my wife and i love to frequent restaurants in the metroplex, so when a friend told us about true fire we decided to try it. just so you understand we enjoy great food, from 100$ to 5$ a plate. true really does have great food, however
plan to be treated like your homeless, the hostess has forgotten that the customer pays her salary, as have the waiters, i have eaten around the globe and have never, ever been treated so poorly. i did go back a secondtimeto make sure i wasn't dreaming and sure enough, same rude reception as before. maybe my wife and i weren't dressed appropriately, i'm not sure, but the truth is i could buy the place if i wanted, regardless all we wanted was a nice meal and a little respect for choosing to spend our money there. in summation, true fire thinks they are very special and do not know the definition of patronage, in my opinion they won't last long if they continue to treat clients like we were treated on our two visits. sorry, would love to hear from you.

great food...iffy waiter.. went for lunch on a tuesday. excellent food and it came out fast..service could be stepped up a notch. it took a longtimefor the server to come back after we ordered an app, and then we sat around for almost 30 minutes for him at the end of the meal to follow up, and get our food boxed. at this point there was only one other table who was also finishing. i couldn't tell if he just didn't care or if he had never been a waiter before. all in all i'll go back just for the hummus. it was to die for.

delicious. this restaurant is just so cute and romantic, i love it! their hummus and crab dip are both fresh tasting and amazing! you must try the latin fire pizza: avocado, diablo sauce, caramelized onion, three cheeses, chopped steak, roasted jalapeno cilantro cream it's absolutely delicious! anytimeyou want a little romance, ask to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful ambiance!!

love trufire! the chickpea soup and the texas pecan & fig salad are a fav. also the blackberry smash it a very refreshing light drink that i have to have everytimei go. tomato & basil pasta is also delish!
