the shed bbq & blues joint

the shed is a rock'in.... this place rocks!... literally. you can enjoy some great live music, great atmosphere and some great bbq! the name really says it all, its just a big shed out in the middle of the woods. its always busy on the weekends so you might wanna plan to go early to avoid the rush. the ribs are tender and coated well with really great flavored bbq sauce. service is quick and friendly. i love bringing family & friends to this place its just that unique.

very good bbq. the sampler was a great diversity of food; ribs, both pork and beef, pulled pork, pulled brisket, sausage and chicken. the chicken was the best chicken i have ever eaten! sides were average. i would come back here very often if i lived closer.

decided to take a day trip from nola and was told that i just had to get bbq here. since i was already in the area i decided to try this place out. it was good. nothing special or that i'd go out my way for. people who work here are nice too.

amazing ribs!. ribs are def in my top 3 favorite foods, so i'm always on the hunt to try ribs wherever i can. i ordered the shed sampler platter meal which came with spare ribs, baby back ribs, sausage, brisket, chicken, pork, 3 sides and two breads. for around $20 that was plenty to feed my family of 3 for dinner, and might i say that these ribs just might be some of the best i've tasted in mississippi. they are delicious, tender, and they are falling off the bone... oh my goodness. i loved them.

the atmosphere, as others stated, is great. definitely worth the trip just to be able to soak in the scenery. might sound weird, but i would describe the atmosphere as one of those good feelings when you think of something from childhood, like summer camp or doing things before technology and media was rampant.

the sides that come with the meal are pretty good. we had the mac salad, baked potato salad and coleslaw. all delicious. my only complaint is that the portions of the sides are very small.

decent pulled pork sandwich.
brisket is some strange, shredded stuff.
both meats are short on seasoning and smoke flavor.
slaw fresh, not too sweet, unlike the bbq sauce, which is so sweet, it's
sickening.
not a place for great bbq, but a fun place when there's live music.

about the third or fourth time i've been here. always get the sampler platter of bbq. the pulled pork was good, the ribs were very good, the sausage was fantastic the chicken was so so.

good sauce, but overwhelms the meat. always enjoy eating here. the bbq sauce is very good, but they slather the meat with it and it overwhelms it. the sides are very good. service has been excellent, but we deliberately choose odd times to go. the outdoor dining is nice when it's not crowded.

let me tell you about "the shed"...food was wonderful....but it is rustic ...i mean really, really rustic, order at the counter, picnic tables in next room...sawdust on the floor....paper plates and plastic utensils, serve your own drink. not sure about ac, it was extremely nice outside when we went and we didn't need it. very quirky decor...all sorts of memorabilia and "junque" on the walls. it looks like a shed...completely!! food is outstanding, fall off the bone ribs and chicken, nicely flavored brisket and pulled pork, and the potato salad is to die for! i would recommend giving it a try if you like bbq.

if you came to the mississippi gulf coast for barbecue.... you could find better, than the shed. there's a lot of attention to the shed's unique decor. call me what you will but i found the atmosphere distracting and we ate there when there were maybe 15 other diners there for lunch. i think the decorations would be very annoying on a friday or saturday night when the place will be full of people there for the live music and said "atmosphere." the atmosphere is so overwhelming...maybe most people overlook how mediocre the food is in favor of the shed's eccentricity. the smoked meats were all extremely dry and needed extra sauce to make them go down. the side dishes were not remarkable. i feel certain that the food would only taste better if i had a lot of liquor in me. tea was good though and the barq's was cold.

this is nothing better than a bbq pork sandwich with a side of potato salad! this place is awesome! i bring all of my out of town family here everytime they come down. however, i have one bad thing to say. this place has gotten very stingy with the bbq sauce. come on brad, you make a fortune. give us more sauce on the sandwiches!

over priced & over hyped. the wife had to eat here after seeing their place on the food network. i ordered their weak tasting bbq brisket sandwich on a white bun that must have been pulled out of a walmart bag. their slaw had no flavor, the fried pickles were too heavy on the salt. however, the potato salad was good. the shed's décor was obviously put together by a college age "decorator" with lots of stuff but no soul, if you know what i mean.

we finally made the stop in here on a drive home to try the q here at the shed. i have to use two or three spots in austin as the latest similar places to compare them too.

ordered brisket sandwich plate with two sides and barq’s bottle. food came out in about 15 minutes with a good crowd on hand. found it peculiar brisket was not sliced and was swimming in a sweet sauce already. very stringy meat. why have the other sauces if this one is already being used. hard to detect a lot of smoke flavor. after reading many other reviews here, including a large number that are hidden, we are not alone in our perception. pretty disappointed.

the sides, mac salad, potato salad and sweet potato casserole were very good, our favorite part of the meal.

will give them another try someday and report back in on the meal but brisket is how you start and set your barometer for all other meats and eats in my opinion.

good meat. i enjoyed the chicken since they were out of pulled pork. ribs were decent. live music completed the casual hillbilly atmosphere- it really looks like a shed.

good bbq, little confusing first time going there but people were nice. huge area with outside seating. sometimes there are bands playing which if you are in mood for is good. at least the pulled pork is good.
