surpisingly average at best. it is a really cool set up in my opinion, but the food was weak. the staff was super cool and the guy working the register was a beer expert and recommended a great micro brew. the meats were all super tender but lacked in smoke and flavor. the ribs were drenched in sauce which is amateurish. the brisket was shredded and not sliced on the sampler platter which was disappointing. as for the sides, i really liked the unique potato salad, definitely give it a try. the mac n cheese was pretty good as was the coleslaw. all in all, i was letdown by the quality of their q given their national rep. to sum it up, go for the ambience and the people, but don't expect great food...or go elsewhere.

sux!. don't bother if you like bbq. the food was tasteless, and the meat sure wasn't smoked. not a real bbq joint.

overrated. we recently ate at the shed, can't say that it was a good experience.the food was cold and had very little smoked flavor to it. had heard a lot of hype about the food but it turns out just to be hype. if you want really good smoked meats go to slap ya mommas.

last year we ate there and the barbecue tasted like someone had dropped something plastic in the pit and let it burn. today the flavor was better but unrecognizable as to what they smoke with. not the best bbq.

this is a great place. it is right off the interstate at exit 57, and our family of four stopped in on the way to the beach from louisiana. we were treated to terrific food, a funky fun atmosphere, and a truly enjoyable live singer from nashville. all for a very reasonable price. the baby back ribs, brisket, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese were wonderful.

food was fair but their sweet bbq sauce covered the taste of the meat which was rather bland. all in all, i will drive by next time.

their pulled pork is definitely worth getting, but my favorite when the shed had a mobile location was always the pulled brisket, so i had to get that for old times’ sake. it was as good as ever. i won’t try to describe it… just go, just get it.

worst bbq i ever ate. this place used to be pretty good, but quality has gone down the toilet. my husband and i ordered brisket plates. most of the meat was fat and it tasted like it was boiled instead of smoked. the brisket was smothered with a sickeningly sweet bbq sauce. it was disgusting. the bread looked like something that would survive the apocalypse and tasted like windex. the beans were also disgustingly sweet. they tasted like bush's baked beans with a pound of brown sugar added. worst meal ever.

nasty & disgusting. perhaps the worst food i have ever eaten & i love good barbeque--but, you won't find it here...

looks like a tacky touristy t shirt shop inside. not even any of the side dishes were edible & every one at my table was in agreement that this food was horrifyingly awful-- can't believe tv hype-- but, perhaps this food was edible, or even good in its past, but this is the present & on a 1 to 10, i give this place a 1.
and, it is very overpriced for poor quality barbeque that it is, small portions of terrible food. the mac & cheese was a dark orange color not often seen on this planet, and never before on mac & cheese. i am guessing it was made with wallmart macoroni (lowest quality) and "artificial cheese" product, hence the disgusting unnatural color.
even the beans were not edible-- i think they were also generic cheap canned wallmart beans.
for $15.00, i got this & just 3 of the most disgusting ribs i have ever eaten & felt like i had been had, which indeed was the case. i should stop payment on my credit card & they should pay me to eat there ever again...
when on i-10, pass this place up, you will find better barbeque all along the way in all of the larger towns & cities along i-10, if that's what you are crazing...

don't waste your time. the shed is a quirky, overpriced bbq joint. if you want to go for the atmosphere go ahead.the food is not worth it. after we ordered our food the cashier informed us it would be a 1/2 hour wait. ok. i'll wait.after 45 minutes i approached the server and was told how busy they were and the food would arrive shortly. after an hour i went to the bar and demanded my food. it was then located and served. i was shocked when it was put in front of me. it was a tiny, dried out chicken breast, potato salad that tasted like it was from walmart ,macaroni and cheese that was like the boxed type and baked beans that were mushy and overly sweet.the barbeque sauce on the chicken was sooooo sweet that i could barely manage to eat it.i wouldn't waste your time here. the atmosphere does not outweigh the poor quality of food and service.i hate when a restaurant blames their poor service on how busy they are. that is not my fault and i should not have to suffer because of it.go to stonewall's in ocean springs. they are really good bbq joint.

not impressed. the publicity may have done it in.. first i'll talk about the overall experience, and then i'll talk about the food.

the restaurant is an interesting place. it's definitely designed to look like they don't care about building codes or decor, and that makes it have a really interesting feel. it was exceptionally crowded when we arrived. it took a while to find a seat, and there was a line for drinks. when we ordered, we were told there would be a 30 minute wait for food, but it took an hour to get our food, and that was only when we asked where it was. others seemed to be having a similar problem, the bill was about 64 dollars for 4 plates, which was a little high in my opinion.

the food arrived somewhat cold, and it was mediocre. i ordered the pulled pork plate. the meat itself was fine (besides being a little cold), but the barbecue sauce was excessively sweet to me. i prefer mildly sweet sauces with more vinegar. the macaroni side i had was basically just store bought mac-and-cheese, like velveeta. the bread was fine. similar to but less tasty than cane's texas toast. the people with me were similarly unimpressed. the food was not bad, but based on the good publicity the shed has gotten, it should have been much better. the others in my party got the spare rib plate and the chicken plate. i was told the spare ribs are good. the chicken was lacking. usually places give a thigh and a leg, but my friends were only given a thigh. it was dry and underwhelming. the baked beans were too sweet and seemed fake.

i think the shed was probably much better in the past, but since receiving so much national exposure, they have had to make some sacrifices in quality to meet demand. overall, i probably won't be back. if you're looking for good barbecue on the coast without the wait and crowdedness, maybe try stonewall's in the st. martin/ocean springs area.
