the shed bbq & blues joint

best on the coast...considering. considering that there really are no good bar-b-q restaurants on the mississippi gulf coast, this may be the best of what is available. that being said, it's ok, but there must be better somewhere. i love going there, particularly for their music (love grayson capps), but usually only get the simplest of their food. ribs aren't that good, brisket is ok if you slice it up and get the sauce mixed in yourself, and everything else is passable. but i love brad and the way he takes care of the place. just wish the food was really bbq, and not some over-sauced semi-smoky meat.

not what it used to be. :(. we recently ate there, and the food was nowhere near as good as the first time we tried it (~2006). we ordered the brisket and pulled pork, and both were extremely disappointing. both meats were so bland, you really would not have guessed what it was. both the texture and the flavor were completely off. the pulled pork tasted like a very bland chicken putty, and the brisket had no smoke ring and a heavy liquid smoke flavor. i don't know if they use liquid smoke, but it had a really off flavor that maybe was liquid smoke.

now, 5 years ago, i would have said this is one of the best bbq spots, and i did recommend it to folks from all over. the potato salad has even lost some of its snap that kept people coming. i don't know what happened, but if you smoke your own bbq, you'd be baffled what this stuff is.

what used to be a very good place to eat, is now just a good name only.

the shed. first time at the shed, we walked in there and got absolutely no direction, servers left and right were ignoring us until a woman with a long brown ponytail asked if it was our first time and directed us to the bar. atmosphere would have been nice, but the place was rather dirty...dollars on the ceiling held up by dirty forks were falling down left and right. food was overpriced for what it was worth.

so apparently this is a famous place for its bbq in ms and our group figured we might as well give it a shot! especially when the original restaurant was so close to biloxi beach! we got here at around 5ish and the place was all ours! apparently the owner was obsessed with trash and couldn't bare to part with it and so turned it into this lovely establishment. ambiance the ambiance is definitely very eclectic! an ensemble of all the visitors that have broken bread here and of course, live blues music going on in the background. there were dollar bills signed by customers from all over the us and stuck to the walls by plastic forks. iced tea selections since the iced tea was $2 for unlimited refills, we decided to give it a whirl and was pleasantly surprised! it wasn't overly sweet and had a nice flavor to it. iced tea was really good my group split the jumbo sampler for $24! it had a bit of everything: beef brisket, chi

omg!. saw this place on 3d. had to come. at first glance i was kind of shocked. it really was a shed. when we walked in i was a greeted by the bartender emree. she explained the order process liked her so much we decided to bug her at the bar. we asked her what was good, she said everything. we asked her about the sampler, she recommended it and tricked us into jumboing it. we ordered a beer they have what looks like to be 1000 different kinds. she corrected me and said it was a little over 100. our sampler came out and just like the beer selection this thing was huge. it was 4lbs of meat and 3 sides, we opted for baked beans, potato salad, and macaroni salad. the meat had a smokey flavor and the spicy sauce was a perfect compliment. the smoke ring was prominent and the meat was so tender i could have sworn the meat was boiled. i was quickly corrected by one of the "shed heads" at the bar who said brad (guessing the owner) has a huge smoker in the back. i believe it. this place was an excellent stop and recommend it to anyone!

pretty good food. we went to the shed expecting wonderful things...... the bbq is good, although they only serve 1 sauce, they actually make several but you have to buy them.??? we were disappointed with the side items. if you want something green you are out of luck. so we just buy the sandwich and bring it home.

this mississippi gem has featured on the food network and the travel channel many times, and has been #1 on mackenzie and my list of restaurants we need to go to. so we finally made it! and let me just say that we were not disappointed in the least. since it's around two hours away (and we didn't know when the next time we'd be there) we decided to get the party platter, which has a little bit of everything, seriously! ribs, sausage, brisket, chicken, pulled pork, texas toast, baked beans, potato salad (with bacon), and coleslaw. needless to say, we were pretty pumped. the ribs and the sausage were my top two favorites but everything else was incredible too. definitely finger lickin good, maybe even plate licking good. between that and the eclectic building built and decorat

great bbq. i love this place, its a great laid back place to take the kids where everything is good. i do not eat ribs at all, until their baby backs touched my lips. best i have ever had. the potato salad is to die for!!!! best bbq i have ever eaten!

freakin' awesome. 4 stars. had platter; ribs, pork, chicken, and beef. listed in the order our table of 5 liked them. only thing below par was the pickles. sauce was tangy, place was hoppin with several tour buses but still had food in 15 min.

good q. we had both the brisket and the bbq plate. i really enjoyed my plate but there's more meat on a mcdonalds cheesburger than i got in my plate. couldn't have been more than 4 oz of pig which made for a pretty rough go of it.

loved the food, but the portions were the smallest i've ever had a the shed or any bbq joint.

awesome place to eat. this is where to get the best bbq in town. we have tried many different places, including the shed in other locations, but the shed on hwy 57 has the best food. we always get the sampler plate and it is enough to feed two adults. the ribs fall off the bone and the chicken is really juicy. the sides are excellent as well. they have a pretty good selection of beer and on saturdays they have live music. during the winter months they will usually have a bonfire to eat around.

mmm .. nom nom nom!!!!!. i consider myself a conessieur of bbq, and i must say, where ever i go, i always vist the local bbq joint. this place was highly recommended by several locals. atmosphere is fantastic, great service, and awesome food. no i'm sorry, i lied. the best bbq i've ever had, ever!! can't wait to go back; i've got a friend coming out of state just to try this place!!

good atmosphere. it's a fun place to go have a drink and sit outside... food is ok if you like sweet bbq, not the best i've had but not bad.

fun and funky place. the chicken & the ribs are top notch, however, the brisker & pork was dry and tough. baked potato salad was fantastic. resonable prices. ordered the jumbo sampler more than enough for 2.

great bbq. when i was stationed in the area my friends and i would go to the shed for some weekend bbq. they had blues bands playing and you got the feel of the south. their food if excellent whether it was the pulled pork, brisket, or ribs. i was never a fan of any bbq until this place. the ribs were excellent fall off the bone! their side items were one of a kind too like their potato and mac salads. oh yeah, can't forget the sweet tea!
