the shed bbq & blues joint

amazing ribs!. ribs are def in my top 3 favorite foods, so i'm always on the hunt to try ribs wherever i can. i ordered the shed sampler platter meal which came with spare ribs, baby back ribs, sausage, brisket, chicken, pork, 3 sides and two breads. for around $20 that was plenty to feed my family of 3 for dinner, and might i say that these ribs just might be some of the best i've tasted in mississippi. they are delicious, tender, and they are falling off the bone... oh my goodness. i loved them.

the atmosphere, as others stated, is great. definitely worth the trip just to be able to soak in the scenery. might sound weird, but i would describe the atmosphere as one of those good feelings when you think of something from childhood, like summer camp or doing things before technology and media was rampant.

the sides that come with the meal are pretty good. we had the mac salad, baked potatosaladand coleslaw. all delicious. my only complaint is that the portions of the sides are very small.

let me tell you about "the shed"...food was wonderful....but it is rustic ...i mean really, really rustic, order at the counter, picnic tables in next room...sawdust on the floor....paper plates and plastic utensils, serve your own drink. not sure about ac, it was extremely nice outside when we went and we didn't need it. very quirky decor...all sorts of memorabilia and "junque" on the walls. it looks like a shed...completely!! food is outstanding, fall off the bone ribs and chicken, nicely flavored brisket and pulled pork, and the potatosaladis to die for! i would recommend giving it a try if you like bbq.

over priced & over hyped. the wife had to eat here after seeing their place on the food network. i ordered their weak tasting bbq brisket sandwich on a white bun that must have been pulled out of a walmart bag. their slaw had no flavor, the fried pickles were too heavy on the salt. however, the potatosaladwas good. the shed's décor was obviously put together by a college age "decorator" with lots of stuff but no soul, if you know what i mean.

we finally made the stop in here on a drive home to try the q here at the shed. i have to use two or three spots in austin as the latest similar places to compare them too.

ordered brisket sandwich plate with two sides and barq’s bottle. food came out in about 15 minutes with a good crowd on hand. found it peculiar brisket was not sliced and was swimming in a sweet sauce already. very stringy meat. why have the other sauces if this one is already being used. hard to detect a lot of smoke flavor. after reading many other reviews here, including a large number that are hidden, we are not alone in our perception. pretty disappointed.

the sides, mac salad, potatosaladand sweet potato casserole were very good, our favorite part of the meal.

will give them another try someday and report back in on the meal but brisket is how you start and set your barometer for all other meats and eats in my opinion.

love it. pulled pork is the best i've ever had. can't get enough of it. the potatosaladis awesome and beer is ice cold. really can't beat this place!!

convenient location for good bbq. this location of the shed bbq & blues joint is very convenient when traveling on i-10. we stopped in on a road trip to florida for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere and food. we ordered the shed sampler platter to share since it comes with a portion of all seven meats and three sides which we chose the baked beans, coleslaw, and macsalad(mac-and-cheese). the food came out extremely quickly and we enjoyed being able to taste all the meats they had to offer i think next time though we will stick to one of the rib plates.

potato salad. it is a sour cream based potatosaladand it was absolutely delicious!

don't waste your time. the shed is a quirky,overpriced bbq joint. if you want to go for the atmosphere go ahead.the food is not worth it. after we ordered our food the cashier informed us it would be a 1/2 hour wait. ok. i'll wait.after 45 minutes i approached the server and was told how busy they were and the food would arrive shortly. after an hour i went to the bar and demanded my food. it was then located and served. i was shocked when it was put in front of me. it was a tiny,dried out chicken breast,potatosaladthat tasted like it was from walmart ,macaroni and cheese that was like the boxed type and baked beans that were mushy and overly sweet.the barbeque sauce on the chicken was sooooo sweet that i could barely manage to eat it.i wouldn't waste your time here. the atmosphere does not outweigh the poor quality of food and service.i hate when a restaurant blames their poor service on how busy they are. that is not my fault and i should not have to suffer because of it.go to stonewall's in ocean springs. they are really good bbq joint.

hated it!. i had been to only one of the shed locations until yesterday 4/5/14. what in the hell are they serving at the gulfport location. my wife and i ordered what we always order. my wife ordered the brisket plate with baked potatosaladand beans and i ordered the brisket and rib plate with mac & cheese and corn on the cob. the brisket was shredded and had absolutely no taste and the look of it was far from appealing. the ribs were cooked to annihilation. my wife ate her potatosaladand i ate the not so home made mac&cheese. the taste of the mac&cheese brought me back to time spent in the louisiana public school cafeteria. the bill with tip was over $50. i tried to get our money back and the manager said that since me ate our sides she could only give me back $22. i explained to her to charge me for what we ate. my wife ate her potatosaladand i ate some of the mac&cheese. reluctantly after about 15mins of going back and forth she realized i was not leaving without more of my money. she then charged me $15 for what we ate. $10 of the $15 was originally tip money. i will not go to this location again. i may try the location in ocean springs in the future but never the gulfport location. oh and by the way there was not one clean table in the place. my wife cleaned us off a table. i attached a photo of what ribs should look like with the shed sauce on them. i made them today.

very good bbq! ribs were tender and juicy falling off the bone and the brisket was tender and very flavorful. the potatosaladwas the best i have ever had! long wait but went on labor day so a 30 minute wait at 1:00 is to be excepted!

been there........... after driving past and hearing about it for years i finally stopped to eat. cool location and vibe. i could see this as a fun place on a night when music was playing live. i happened to be there on a wed night.

the food - beans were canned and only slightly improved by some bell pepper and meat - potatosaladis canned from the sysco truck - spare ribs were way overcooked and mushy

don't think i will be back.....

the sour cream based potatosaladis out of this world good, the best i ever had!! mac n cheese is awesome as well. i love their slightly sweet bbq sauce.

baby back ribs were delicious! probably the best potatosaladi've ever had, tasted like it had sour cream and chives in it. great atmosphere. if you are anywhere near ocean springs/gauthier ms, make the effort to swing through!

earthy atmosphere, especially the hwy57 location. the potato(e)saladis a must.

always makes me sick. when they first opened i loved the food but the last 4 times i went there i got sick. i kept going back in hopes it was just me but it's the food. don't know if it's the sauce or smoke but i had to stop going because i got tired of throwing up. used to love the potatosaladalso but now it taste like the stuff u get at walmart in the deli section. i think they are just getting too big that they are starting to feel more like a chain than a hometown local restaurant
