the olde pink house

as advertised!. the olde pink house did not disappoint! excellent food, professional service and a great atmosphere! one of the best meals we've had in savannah (been here for a year).

lick your plate good!. we had reservation at 5pm on a saturday while visiting savannah. i am sure if this restaurant were else where there would be a dress code - but unfortunately there were other dinners in jeans, shorts and flip flops. once you over look that - it is a great atmosphere. we had the shrimp and grits as a starter. they brought it out on two plates which was great since i might have eaten the entire thing otherwise. this dish was sooooo good that if it weren't for the white table cloths, i would have licked my plate clean. they brought out a bread basket as well. the yeast roll was ok - but the biscuits were the perfect combination of sweet and salty.
my husband had the pork shank - which was so big it resembled a flintstone dish. i had the ravioli - no chance of a to go bag needed. i eat every last bite.
our staff was very attentive and the bill was reasonable. they could charge more and get it.
we may just take the four hour drive from atlanta down there on a saturday just to eat there one weekend.

such a nice place. i'm a frequent visitor to this area. i stay very close to this restaurant. my visit was wonderful. this is such a nice home. if you haven't been, it's worth the trip. no room looks the same. the service was fantastic. as for the food, well.... it wasn't bad by any means. basic dishes. for me it was more about the experience. in the basement there is a piano bar. very dark room and exceptional help staff. it's all very worth a try.

everything i had was the best dish i have ever had. the soft-shell crab was to die for! i was honestly upset i could not finish my plate.

flounder was a-ma-zing. service and the rest of the food was excellent. the ambience is nice. will definitely go back.

fun, good experience. went for a private party and the food, service and experience was great. we had a blast ~ they had a woman entertain us with singing and then they told us the history of the house. while the historic tales were a bit embellished, the food was not. nice menu, well prepared food, ambiance was period to the late 1700s and the service was spectactular. go, eat and enjoy.

ehhh.. for all it's cracked up to be, it's awfully salty. the duck was inedible. the crepes on top were filled with some sort of vegetable medly that was just too salty for my tastes. the duck itself was fine but a little overdone and dry. the service was mediocre at best. the appetizers were pathetically small. we asked our server if they would be large enough to share and she assured us they would be. the fried green tomato appetizer was only two slices of tomato. everything is ok, but at these prices they have got to do better. the cheese plate was pitiful. six (?) tiny slices of cheese served with some sort of cracker thing and the savannah bee company honey comb. savannah bee company is saving this one but i would never order it again, i guess i won't have to worry about what i'm ordering because i will not be returning.

as a concierge in savannah, i see a lot of folks head over to the pink house. i would say most of them are happy when they come back, it just doesnt suit my tastes.

grand old place with great food. a special occasion place that has a romantic aospjere. i still rember christmas ebe there with a lovely sprinkling of snow too

best fried green tomatoes
my wife and i got seats at the lower bar. the lower level of the restaurant is more rustic and the upper level more elegant. we started by sharing the fried green tomatoes. i have only one word. excellent! we each wanted to order the chicken pot pie. unfortunately they were out of it. my wife had the fried chicken with mac and cheese which she enjoyed. since their regular portion is enormous she asked to delete the wings and thighs which they did and only charged for a half portion. i had the duck which was presented in a rich sauce with sides of fresh fruit and collard greens. it was also very good. service was prompt and friendly.

great food, lovely old building. i was most appreciative of the gracious service. we were a party of 9, with 3 kids under age 11 and an autistic 19 year old. they seated us in a semi private room which allowed the kids to be kids without disturbing other patrons. the servers didn't bat an eye when our autistic boy needed to stretch out on the floor while waiting for his food.

must go, absolutely worth the hype. upon walking into the olde pink house, i was impressed by the atmosphere and layout of the restaurant. it is apparent that a tremendous amount of care went into the rehabilitation of this historic building. everyone we spoke with was incredibly friendly, specifically our server. he was knowledgeable, excellent at making recommendations to match our taste buds, and most importantly, great at pairing delicious wine to accompany the savory food. speaking of the food ... wow. the blt salad truly is one of the best things i have ever eaten. we also got blackened oysters, crab stuffed grouper and pork tenderloin, followed by a praline basket for dessert. each and every dish was well thought and embodied the comfort exhibited by classic southern food.

i highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely always eat there every time i visit savannah.

amazing service and even more amazing food. this restaurant provided one of the best meals i have ever had. in addition, the service was impeccable. stan was a great host to us, adding to the wonderful atmosphere with some history of the restaurant and savannah. the food was not only visually appealing but delicious; props to the chef, really. as an appetizer, we had a special of blackened shrimp which was amazing. i wish these shrimps were available year round so they could be a permanent addition to their menu, but unfortunately they are seasonal. for dinner we had the crispy half duck and the crab-stuffed grouper, both of which were phenomenal. i honestly couldn't tell you which i liked better.
