the olde pink house

we enjoyed olde pink house. the atmosphere was amazing. i got the salmon and it was great (other than a very small portion). my husband got the duck and really liked it. i would also highly recommend stopping by the bar downstairs and taking a look at the vault. very impressive building. we would definitely go back on our next trip to savannah!

olde pink house was beautiful. the first night we went for dinner. honestly overpriced for what we've had over places, but you cannot beat the atmosphere. we even went back to the downstairs bar the next night. very beautiful home.

ambiance was everything. restaurant is as beautiful as described. if you don't have a reservation you will be waiting for a seat at the bar or table. my fiancee started with the she crab soup which was, by far the worse either of us have ever tasted. her salmon, as well as my pork loin were very good. i had an appetizer shrimp and grits which were the best i've ever had. i would spend time looking for other places to eat in savannah before going back. 3.5 out of 5 stars

a new favorite. we loved this place! we had the she crab soup, the fried chicken, the shrimp and grits, and the buffalo shrimp tacos. the greens were the best i have ever had. nothing that touched the table was bad. nothing.

should have eaten at the bar.. the food was very good. the upstairs dinning room was nice but was as loud as a school cafeteria, and our waiter was horribly slow. we were seconds from going back to eat at the bar. worst service since i ate at denny's.

one-time visit. this felt like a well-done tourist spot but not a culinary high. southern cuisine-- so a lot of caloric high fat choices. service for us was slightly overdone--too many visits with the question, "how are you doing?" crab cake with fried green tomato was quite nice. we would not need to go back, but glad we checked it out.

spend the money. if you are in the city of savannah and want to experience fine dining and a level of customer service that is gone from most businesses, please spend the money and visit the olde pink house.

i recently went to the olde pink house with a group of my girl friends for a nice meal before an evening of libations and debauchery at my bachelorette party. we walked over to the restaurant from our hotel, and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. while we were waiting on the front porch for our table to become available, jaylin (so sorry if i am butchering the spelling of your name!!), helped to keep us entertained by telling us all about the history of the house. he made our fifteen minute wait seem like five minutes. we had a great time talking to him outside before our meal.

this house is gorgeous on the inside, and we were seated upstairs. once we got to our table, our server promptly came by and welcomed us to the restaurant. throughout the course of the meal, we had probably five different servers that came by and made sure that our drinks were full and the table was cleared as plates became empty. jaylin even came back by to wish us a good evening before he left at the end of his shift. everyone in our group was thoroughly impressed with the truly friendly and genuine nature of the staff.

we had a large group, and everyone enjoyed their meals. i had the roasted pork shank (per jaylin's recommendation), and it was incredible. i would highly recommend it to anyone in eating in the area (just come hungry, the portions were huge-- the pork shank was roughly 12oz).

my compliments to the staff at the olde pink house for making this one of the most enjoyable dining experiences of my life. great food, great staff, beautiful restaurant. don't miss this one!!

such a beautiful gorgeous building, dinner there felt very special. the food was delicious and the service polite and have us a good history if the house. my only issue was that although the service excellent it was a little too efficient. we had barely finished our appetisers when the entrees came out. after that we were immoderately presented with the dessert menu. it wasn't a huge issue but i would have liked to take my time and enjoy the restaurant and the food and chat a bit between courses. no problems though as the started said to take our time looking around the restaurant and we did.
there is also a small late night bar in the basement you must go to. super cosy and there is a pianist.
i would 100% recommend

heard such good things about this restaurant. somewhat disappointed. no bread with meal, side dishes obviously plated in advances and served lukewarm (as in congealed grits; yuk). staff very attentive, but went for the food. would not go back.

very disappointed. my crab stuffed black grouper was dry and mealy-probably frozen and possibly microwaved. fried oyster appetizer was cold. my wife's collard greens were too salty to eat. too bad-great atmosphere.

did not live up to expectations,. i have visited savannah for years and lived here for the better part of 5 years, had always heard that the olde pink house was the best dining experience to be had. i was also told that the bar area was an intimate cozy room in which to dine (almost everyone recommended it and the menu is the same throughout the house.

although the house itself is wonderful the experience left me flat. we ordered appetizers and drinks which were good i must say. we then waited over an hour for our entrees which were disappointing at best. i had a filet which was ordered medium rare and came out severely overdone. it came with asparagus (two spears) and a smallish portion of mac and cheese which was very good. my wife's dinner arrived 5 minutes later with apologies but no explanation for the slow service nor the extra delay in her meal which was simply pasta and shrimp. this was my first opportunity to complain about the temperature of my meal, however at this point we were just ready to eat and get on with our evening. on this night the piano appeared to be wired into the speaker system and was extremely loud making conversation difficult...this may have been the exception rather than the rule.

i have never heard anything bad about the pink house, and am inclined to give them a break even though i di not feel compelled to return anytime soon. for the $150.00 we spend i know there are better dining options in savannah area. when my vacationing guests ask where to dine, i will simply leave this one off the list.

amazing. do yourself a favor and go here! some of the best fried green tomatoes on earth. the shrimp and grits were incredible- best grit cake i've ever had. beautiful house and excellent food. literally no complaint. when i go back to savannah i will be going be going back.

best in savannah. our meal was perfect. we had the crab-stuffed grouper and the pan-seared salmon. both were great. the service was better than most restaurants that we have been to. the price was higher than the average restaurant, but in this case, we got what we paid for.
