drove into savannah on way home from dc and chose this restaurant based on recommendations from friends. boy were they wrong. got in just before time and staff shuffled us aside. did not recommend bar or seat while we waited. we felt in the way and staff ignored us. only thing i found appetizing, flounder was out and they didn't notify us of that until after order. substituted crab cakes that were over cooked. expensivemealand we would have been better off at burger king. totally disappointed!

a great place to dine if you have money to burn, patience to waste and a palate that has been numbed by mediocre food.. a surreal experience. it took over two hours for our meals to get to our table. we sat down at 9:00 pm, our entrees showed up two hours later, we were the only left in the dining room at the end. the cleaning staff were by then actively closing down the room all around us.
our server seemed to be only interested in up selling us to the lobster tails and $100 bottles of wine. three of the four meals went unfinished which prompted zero queries from our server. the wedge salad consisted of a head of lettuce chopped into quarters (you get one quarter) covered with "blue cheese" straight from the bottle. i have had glasses of water that had more substance and complexity than this particular salad dressing.

we ended up paying almost $300 for amealfor four which included one bottle of wine. it was lousy. don't go there. save your money or else spend it a place that deserves and appreciates it.

this was a fine dining experience from hell.

it was a nice building though.

i recently went to the olde pink house with a group of my girl friends for a nicemealbefore an evening of libations and debauchery at my bachelorette party. we walked over to the restaurant from our hotel, and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. while we were waiting on the front porch for our table to become available, jaylin (so sorry if i am butchering the spelling of your name!!), helped to keep us entertained by telling us all about the history of the house. he made our fifteen minute wait seem like five minutes. we had a great time talking to him outside before our meal.

this house is gorgeous on the inside, and we were seated upstairs. once we got to our table, our server promptly came by and welcomed us to the restaurant. throughout the course of the meal, we had probably five different servers that came by and made sure that our drinks were full and the table was cleared as plates became empty. jaylin even came back by to wish us a good evening before he left at the end of his shift. everyone in our group was thoroughly impressed with the truly friendly and genuine nature of the staff.

we had a large group, and everyone enjoyed their meals. i had the roasted pork shank (per jaylin's recommendation), and it was incredible. i would highly recommend it to anyone in eating in the area (just come hungry, the portions were huge-- the pork shank was roughly 12oz).

my compliments to the staff at the olde pink house for making this one of the most enjoyable dining experiences of my life. great food, great staff, beautiful restaurant. don't miss this one!!

did not live up to expectations,. i have visited savannah for years and lived here for the better part of 5 years, had always heard that the olde pink house was the best dining experience to be had. i was also told that the bar area was an intimate cozy room in which to dine (almost everyone recommended it and the menu is the same throughout the house.

although the house itself is wonderful the experience left me flat. we ordered appetizers and drinks which were good i must say. we then waited over an hour for our entrees which were disappointing at best. i had a filet which was ordered medium rare and came out severely overdone. it came with asparagus (two spears) and a smallish portion of mac and cheese which was very good. my wife's dinner arrived 5 minutes later with apologies but no explanation for the slow service nor the extra delay in hermealwhich was simply pasta and shrimp. this was my first opportunity to complain about the temperature of my meal, however at this point we were just ready to eat and get on with our evening. on this night the piano appeared to be wired into the speaker system and was extremely loud making conversation difficult...this may have been the exception rather than the rule.

i have never heard anything bad about the pink house, and am inclined to give them a break even though i di not feel compelled to return anytime soon. for the $150.00 we spend i know there are better dining options in savannah area. when my vacationing guests ask where to dine, i will simply leave this one off the list.

best in savannah. ourmealwas perfect. we had the crab-stuffed grouper and the pan-seared salmon. both were great. the service was better than most restaurants that we have been to. the price was higher than the average restaurant, but in this case, we got what we paid for.

a huge disappointment and very expensive in comparison. we've been on a 12 day holiday around charleston and savannah and have eaten at some amazing restaurants - fig, mccradys, cru cafe, a-lure and more. the olde pink house was by far the most disappointing and uninspiring, so much so that i received mymealfor free after expressing my dissatisfaction. the service was good although when the waitresses were checking on us while we were eating, the question wasn't "how is everything?" it was "how fantastic is it?" - a big assumption to make given that it was not fantastic at all. very expensive too. this restaurant is banking on the ambiance, location and history but the food leaves a lot to be desired and has not kept up with the pace.

thanksgiving 2012 - never again. prix fixe lunch for 2 with 1 cocktail, including tip = $$$$135! when we called to confirm the time we found that they had lost our 2pm reservation made 2 months in advance. they were able to "squeeze us in", literally. after standing, in heels, on the front stoop for an hour (where is that southern chivalry?), we were crammed in a corner of a dark room. my gentleman friend had to remove his coat lest it be singed by the fire as his chair was half in the hearth. they had run out of rolls (at 3:30 pm on thanksgiving?), the biscuit (1) was historically correct hard-tack and the corn bread tasted just like "jiffy". this would usually not matter much, but the appetizer i ordered was a single nearly raw scallop sliced thin. with a green garnish. when the expediter finally brought our lunch (charged for dinner due to the delays) i was served desiccated trout, with a clotted, dry filling which included 3 tiny, bouncy, curled crawfish on a bed of greasy squashes. my friend had a traditional turkeymealwhich did not evidently include gravy for the tiny potato poof and 2 tablespoons of dressing. we never saw the waitress again until desert was served, at which time, at last, my friend received his iced tea. dessert was just ok. the credit card, however, was retrieved promptly and was executed flawlessly. i did see the lovely decor of which others write, as i insisted on being allowed to peek in the doorway. we returned home early to raid the fridge for leftovers, as it was standing room only in the tavern. still waiting for a return phone call from the manager.

olde pink house. what was off with thismealwas the consistency. everything we had from the menu and experience said "fine dining" until we got to dessert. the coffee was fine dining standard coffee but, i got the pecan pie and my husband the key lime. his pie was good, nothing special. i don't even know how to describe the pecan pie. it was generous with the nuts but the filling was like a gel of nothing-ness, tasteless, unusual and not in a good way. the crust could have been good but also suffered from lack of flavor and that crunch i so love in a crumb crust. oh well, the rest of themealwas amazing and high quality. our server was "ok", not very helpful or informative with our questions or the history of the home. this pink house could reconsider their pastry supplier or it was an off day.

delicious, friendly, warm, & accommodating. we enjoyed a few drinks before ourmealin the tavern, and what a great atmosphere. the experience of the tavern and the restaurant as a whole was excellent..nothing short of great. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the food was wonderful, i had the crab stuffed black grouper and it was delightful. my wife loved the duck, which i must say is impressive because she is a duck connoisseur . the appetizer platters where great, i must recommend the platter with the shrimp and grits, what a great take on a southern american iconic dish. we brought our own wine and cake, and they were very accommodating. if you are looking for an up scalemealand an enjoyable night you cant go wrong here. if you are looking for a few good drinks in a perfect atmosphere, head to the tavern below and enjoy a few food items as well.

great food in a historic mansion. to start, they brought us complimentary cornbread and biscuits hot out of the oven that were to die for. we started goat cheese and artichoke fritters which were good but we probably wouldn't order them again. then we moved on to the she crab soup that was rich and delicious. we ended our lightmealwith the famous blt (with fried green tomatoes). it had excellent flavor. our waitress, summer, was extremely friendly and conscientious. the setting was quaint and historic. would definitely recommend.
