one of my girlfriends told me to come to the moon because the beer was great and they had cool things like music bingo, wing night and great service. upon going there for my first time with my mother, it seemed pretty cool. i got served by a woman with arm tattoos who was a bit rude and barely came around to our table although it wasn't busy! come to find she had been behind the bar on her phone the whole time we were waiting for another drink and had dirty dishes on the table. i thought it was very unprofessional all together. i will give thisplaceanother try at some point down the road, the food was perfect and the (dunkel) was great! i just really hope i get better service next time and that this isn't happening to everybody that goes there.....



update. thisplacesucks even worse than it did a year ago. do not go here. the kitchen staff are gross looking and i've seen things cooling in the dusty hall which is not food safe. the owner is a complete psycho and i do not recommend to anybody that isn't going there just to get wasted.

best onion rings in my life. the first time i came here with a friend, we were unaware that it was an english style pub so we sat there for 20 minutes without anyone approaching us to inform us of the "order at bar" process. we ended up leaving in frustration without ordering anything. i decided to give thisplaceanother try a year later and this time the service had much improved. someone greeted us right away, informed us of how the ordering worked and we were served right away. the onion rings were literally the best i've ever eaten. the batter was extremely light, crispy and refreshing in the sense that it didn't give you the fatty saturated feeling when you know you ate a heart-attack meal. i was also impressed with the veggie burger which had a really flavourful and large patty. the burger was warm and soft and a really large sized portion too. definitely recommend thisplaceand will go back.

this is a bustling and successful pub with great beer on tap.  great appies.  they also have pretty good wings on wing night -  well-sauced and decent sized.  i feel their menu is well-priced for the quality of the food.  if you like pub classics - burgers, fish and chips, soups, salads, a great variety of appies - then it's worth a try.  it's definitely classier than some greaseball pub food but still comfortable.  my critiques are that it is always too busy in the evenings!  like come on victoria, could you please forget about thisplacea little bit?  so they could maybe use more seating.  also it smells like rotting death outside due to the aroma of the dumpster.  i don't know how they could fix it but i notice it every time.  service can be a little slow but i think it's just cause they're so busy.

moon is my favourite go to pub!!! creepy uncle dunkel is a beer that i crave and their hot wings are delicious. it's a small family runplacewhich keeps you coming back!!!

i was pleasantly surprised with this place. the beer i had was 20 oz and was like $5 and it was delicious. i then had a burger with it, which was also great. it's a smallerplacebut i found as well that our server was very friendly and attentive. i will definitely go back.

greatplacefor a beer and a burger.. love this place. the beer is amazing, and what goes well with a beer (or three)? a burger of course. washed down with a couple more of their excellent, brewed on the premises, beers or guest ales. one thing victoria does well is brewpubs and this is one of the best. the simple décor and the location in the middle of an industrial estate just emphasise the excellence of the beer. did i mention they make good beer? looking forward to a few visits when i return to victoria next month.

getting better and better. every since the change of ownership thisplacehas been getting better and better. while i would rate the food anything above "pub" level (but, to be fair, it *is* a pub), the beer is great. the additional guest taps offer a great selection for a brewpub.

service can be a little slow if it's busy.

a good (re)start. i had gone once to the pub before the new ownership took over and had such a terrible time that i had sworn off returning *and* purchasing any of their beer (it was that bad). i recently heard about the new ownership and decided i'd let them get their feet wet before i'd return, which i did last night.

the atmosphere has been greatly improved. actually feels like a proper pub now (not sure what the previous owners were thinking). between two of us, we had some wings, burger (chicken and oyster) and a couple of beers (i had the potts pils which was great).

the service was probably slower than it should be for a 1/2-2/3 full restaurant, but we managed to occupy our time well enough.

the food was average, i'd say. it is pub fare, afterall. the chicken on the burger looked a little too formatted to be a nice fresh cut of chicken, so i assume their using some frozen meat of some kind. the bacon on the burger was thick and plentiful which was nice.

would love to see the food quality step it up a notch, i'll probably return. will definitely be buying some more of their beer, at least!

tried it twice won't ever go back. lack of table service makes no sense, especially when not busy. neither food nor beer that great, nor was theplacefun. not a proper pub, not a proper restaurant.

oh wow!. i had bought a couvon for my parents and once they used it this became their favorite pub restaurant. they kept raving about it and i finally got to try it for myself this past weekend.
i had the beet and fried goat cheese salad (two items i normally would not order) and i can still taste it. the sad thing is when i go back (and i will) i will not be tempted to try anything else on the menu. don't even hand me the menu... i know what i am ordering.

please give thisplacea try. well worth it!

better than average pub fare. it's an unlikely location for a pub, perhaps because breweries are not permitted uses downtown. but when you find your way through the industrial miasma of rock bay, there is moon under water with delicious food. we enjoyed a huge chicken club with crunchy fries, and an inventive beet (two colours) salad with deep fried balls of goat cheese and a tasty grilled chicken breast on top. service was prompt,placeseemed cheerful and we went away satisfied.

do not come here on a saturday night unless you want to wait 15 minutes for a beer. and then over an hour for fish and chips and a salad which actually still hasn't arrived yet! we saw people who came in after us get served more complicated meals before us. we have been forgotten! oh! as i was typing this, another table that arrived after us received their food. this is unbelievable! oh finally! it arrived! this was the worst restaurant experience i've ever had, and the weird thing is that i love thisplacein the afternoons. great beer and food. this is the kind of night that can ruin a good pub for me.

new look to the pub and a new menu.. i liked thisplacebefore, now i love it! they've added spinach & artichoke dip and a late night menu as well as a bacon chicken and brie burger that's to die for.. as well as some delicious desserts... thisplaceis awesome.

went with my bookclub and they reserved us a nice table by the fireplace. the food was great and the service was very friendly. i had their ipa whichi really enjoyed. if you like craft beers you can't go wrong here. they also have cider on tap. will definitely add thisplaceto my favourites.

impressed!. wow! what can i say... my boyfriend and i chose thisplacebecause it was a central meeting point between us and to be honest, i was really hesitant...because its a pub! wow i was wrong! great burgers, great fries, awesome dinner salad!! (beet) i'd come back for sure! it was a nice surprise! and affordable to boot!!

aplaceto not try. okay so the burgers were not too too bad (okay at best), the salmon burger was rather flavorless, gravy was like poorly seasoned flour and water and the fries were bag bottom fries you couldnt even dip them in the gravy without a fork, and the onion rings were terrible absolutely no seasoning in the batter, also the salad did not taste like it was clean very terrible tasting like dirt with a weak sauce also found a good sized lettuce core (heart) in it. the indian red ale was okay, and the indian pale ale could gag a maggot (beers were tested by 3 people) if your going to hit up a pub in that area go to gorge pointe pub.
