the moon under water pub & brewery

awesome veggie burger. holy cow!!! (pardon the pun), the veggie burger rocks! i've only been to moon under water once, but it was recommended by a friend that i try the veggie burger and they were not kidding! i will bebackand it will be hard not to have it again. beer is good too!

5 of us had dinner and we all agreed...very average...average chili, average blue moon burger, average fish and chips. nice server but won't bebackany time soon and wouldn't recommend.

a little harsh. i've allwasy enjoyed my self here and as a patron and former employee i think the last review was a bit harsh, well there is no excuse for bad service or bland food i still hold high hopes for the potential of this place. i think for better or for worse they are in a traditionary period for sure, i'll definitely bebackfor wonderful wing night and great burgers.

hmm. first i would like to say that i have been here a few times in the past couple of months, and all of the beers have been getting better and better every time they come out with a new one, and the food is coming out fast, and very delicious.

i would also like add, that i tried getting a job here a while back, as my friend told me to apply, and even with all the right credentials, i did not get hired. as i later found out, it was due to the fact that i am a smoker. to all you smokers (great at your job or not) do not even try and apply here. because the discriminating owners will not hire you.

the management needs a tune up, because the past times my friend and i have gone there, we almost felt unwelcome by the woman (owner) at the bar, who glared at us more often than not. not goingbackuntil the management gets a change of attitude. thanks!

oh wow!. i had bought a couvon for my parents and once they used it this became their favorite pub restaurant. they kept raving about it and i finally got to try it for myself this past weekend.
i had the beet and fried goat cheese salad (two items i normally would not order) and i can still taste it. the sad thing is when i goback(and i will) i will not be tempted to try anything else on the menu. don't even hand me the menu... i know what i am ordering.

please give this place a try. well worth it!

impressed!. wow! what can i say... my boyfriend and i chose this place because it was a central meeting point between us and to be honest, i was really hesitant...because its a pub! wow i was wrong! great burgers, great fries, awesome dinner salad!! (beet) i'd comebackfor sure! it was a nice surprise! and affordable to boot!!

still waters run deep. first timer who went in on saturday night. i like all the parking and off the beaten path location. staff were friendly and beers were tasty. they even let us sample several beers before we made our decision. enjoyed some quality live music in a nice chill environment. had the opportunity to talk to one of the owners and got to know a bit more about the place. i will gobackand try the food, which is all made from scratch, and the pool room. it's different, but that's what i like.

your refund is still waiting. i am writing a response to matthew politano's recent post. i talked with matthew and his wife who were less than happy with their meal. i did offer to give him another meal as well as refund their money. unfortunately they left before we could we do that.
as owners or the company we try to operate at a 100% customer satisfaction rate and tipping at our pub is optional as it is at all restaurants.
so, matthew, if you and your wife would like to comebackwe will refund your money and buy you another meal on the house.

i had the bengali coconut curry (vegetarian) and it was fantastic. very flavorful, chock full of wonderful veggies, perfectly cooked rice, and a super delicious popdum on top. large portion - i'm stuffed. yup, a fab meal.

i liked it before, but i love it now!

nice place. i went for lunch on friday - nice atmosphere and friendly staff. i wanted to love my lunch (special: green curry) but found it a bit weak with regards to flavor. i found i kept adding salt, which is an extreme rarity for me. that said however, if the worst i could say is "my lunch needed salt" then i'd say this place is off to a great start.

i really enjoyed the atmosphere, the helpful, non-pretentious friendly server, and my meal wasn't too bad at all. i will bebackto give this place another try!

could do better. we opted to visit the moon under water on a night when the stanley cup was being played as they advertise the fact that they do not have a big screen tv. we wanted a british style pint in peace, quite and pleasant surroundings. we got none of the above.
on entering we discovered a 'pub' with all the warmth and atmosphere of a big box store and between 20 and 30 people staring at a huge screen tv which was showing hockey. despite our disappointment we opted to stay and taste the draft beef.

although they say they are an english style pub they are actually a british style pub, in as much as you order at the bar, but offending the scots and the welsh was not considered before deciding on the description of service.
the beer we chose was their ipa and were shocked at how cold it was served. why go to the bother of brewing a decent pint and then freezing all the taste out of it? however, when left to reach a better temperature it was a tasty pint. hoppy but not overly so and not sweet either.
we did not eat, but the food being presented to others was well presented and looked good.
we would return to try their food but the atmosphere was so dreadful; the drab military pain, minimalist furniture style and high industrial ceiling, that it would have to be something really special to get usbackagain.

impressed. very reasonable prices, the atmosphere / service are good and i liked what i ordered.
i had put through a special request for my order (curry plate with prawns) and the girl taking my order misunderstood so i didn't get what i had ordered. when i let her know, they corrected it right away and didn't charge for the difference. it would have only been a dollar or two but i think it was a nice gesture. the staff also came around often to ask how we were liking our food and making sure all was ok.
all in all i really liked it and i will gobackagain.

not bad....not great.. finally got around to checking out this pub. having spent many hours previously buying appliances ect at this location when it was direct buy, was sceptical as to how they would pull off the whole pub ambiance thing. they have done a good job, it is a nice room, love the fireplaces and it was very clean. didn't eat, but the menu looked promising. definately tempted to gobackfor the currry, and ploughmans lunch. the beer was good, tried their blond ale.
dislikes, were the fact you there is no table service. if i wanted to line up for food and booze, i would go to the liquor store, and have take out at a third of the price. also found it odd that when i ordered half a pint i was give a half full pint glass.....i don't like a huge glass.....can they not afford appropriate glassware?
we will definately gobackand give the menu a chance. hopefully with time they will iron out the rough spots, and do well.

good in theory.... my partner and i tried this place out last friday. some things were good and some things were bad.

good: 1) the beer selection was really small but we tried two of the three beers that they currently had on tap and they were both good; 2) despite being fairly busy, our order was placed quickly (english style pub service) and our food came to the table within 15 min; 3) my partner's fish and chips were quite good.

bad: 1) the beer-battered onion rings were undercooked, with pockets of raw batter on the inside; 2) the black bean veggie burger was, hands down, the worst i have ever eaten - it was all but unseasoned, and fell apart into a pile of stewy mush when i tried to pick it up.

i would gobackfor a beer - the veggie burger though? never again.
