one of my girlfriends told me to come to the moon because the beer wasgreatand they had cool things like music bingo, wing night andgreatservice. upon going there for my first time with my mother, it seemed pretty cool. i got served by a woman with arm tattoos who was a bit rude and barely came around to our table although it wasn't busy! come to find she had been behind the bar on her phone the whole time we were waiting for another drink and had dirty dishes on the table. i thought it was very unprofessional all together. i will give this place another try at some point down the road, the food was perfect and the (dunkel) was great! i just really hope i get better service next time and that this isn't happening to everybody that goes there.....



update. this place sucks even worse than it did a year ago. do not go here. the kitchen staff are gross looking and i've seen things cooling in the dusty hall which is not food safe. the owner is a complete psycho and i do not recommend to anybody that isn't going there just to get wasted.

this is a bustling and successful pub withgreatbeer on tap. greatappies.  they also have pretty good wings on wing night -  well-sauced and decent sized.  i feel their menu is well-priced for the quality of the food.  if you like pub classics - burgers, fish and chips, soups, salads, agreatvariety of appies - then it's worth a try.  it's definitely classier than some greaseball pub food but still comfortable.  my critiques are that it is always too busy in the evenings!  like come on victoria, could you please forget about this place a little bit?  so they could maybe use more seating.  also it smells like rotting death outside due to the aroma of the dumpster.  i don't know how they could fix it but i notice it every time.  service can be a little slow but i think it's just cause they're so busy.

this is agreatlittle brewery and pub! amazing food and beers. i really like their new sour beer, super delicious! if your in for a meal, you can order food and ask for a tour of the brewery. it's fun and by the time your done the tour your food is ready!

went here with pretty high expectations after friend recommended the place, was highly disappointed. chicken wings were dry and un flavourful. beer was okay. service was non existent . rest of the food we ordered wasn't thatgreatat all. won't be going back.

a little harsh. i've allwasy enjoyed my self here and as a patron and former employee i think the last review was a bit harsh, well there is no excuse for bad service or bland food i still hold high hopes for the potential of this place. i think for better or for worse they are in a traditionary period for sure, i'll definitely be back for wonderful wing night andgreatburgers.

mixed feelings. i've been to the moon under water several dozen times now as it's near my house, and i have to say that my biggest complaint is their inconsistency. the service is always hit or miss. it seems like they don't schedule enough staff a lot of nights, or have had some staffing issues as quite often the service is really slow and sub-par; however it's quite visible that the servers are working their butts off and running around like crazy trying to get to all the tables. other times the servers have been really friendly and attentive. i've been served by the older women the last few times i've been there, and find her to be unapproachable and inattentive, so i was surprised to learn she was the owner. i find the same inconsistency with the food. i usually always order the beet salad. it's a delicious salad, but always changes in presentation and ratio of ingredients. i also often order their onion rings which can be absolutely out of this world, but have arrived cold or excessively greasy several times. i really want to love this place, especially since it's my only neighborhood option other than spinnakers, but it's been difficult when you never know what to expect when you go there. i've stopped recommending it for that reason. one thing that has always been consistentlygreatis the beer. although, one complaint about the beer is that they do not have separate taps for growlers with extra carbonation, so my beer was flat by the time i got to drink it later that night. for that reason i go to spinnakers to get my growlers filled, although i mush prefer moon's beer.

getting better and better. every since the change of ownership this place has been getting better and better. while i would rate the food anything above "pub" level (but, to be fair, it *is* a pub), the beer is great. the additional guest taps offer agreatselection for a brewpub.

service can be a little slow if it's busy.

a good (re)start. i had gone once to the pub before the new ownership took over and had such a terrible time that i had sworn off returning *and* purchasing any of their beer (it was that bad). i recently heard about the new ownership and decided i'd let them get their feet wet before i'd return, which i did last night.

the atmosphere has been greatly improved. actually feels like a proper pub now (not sure what the previous owners were thinking). between two of us, we had some wings, burger (chicken and oyster) and a couple of beers (i had the potts pils which was great).

the service was probably slower than it should be for a 1/2-2/3 full restaurant, but we managed to occupy our time well enough.

the food was average, i'd say. it is pub fare, afterall. the chicken on the burger looked a little too formatted to be a nice fresh cut of chicken, so i assume their using some frozen meat of some kind. the bacon on the burger was thick and plentiful which was nice.

would love to see the food quality step it up a notch, i'll probably return. will definitely be buying some more of their beer, at least!

2nd times the charm.. glad to see the new owners (for almost a year i think) have changed this uniquely located pub into a fun place. food is ok but could be stepped up another notch but hopefully that will change in time. multiple themes (burger night on wednesday etc) for each day of the week. its agreateffort compared to the previous owners who practically hated being in business.

one thing that needs to change is the white witch that sometimes works at the bar or serves.. a constant scowl on her face and the look of medusa at the best of times. perhaps an office position?

the prices are quite good and the beer selection isgreatthough!

great food,greatbeer!. i came to moon under water and loved it! from the craft beers to the amazing food, i couldn't get enough. the bleue moon wings wer incredible, so juicy.

great food, superb beer and amazing service !. my wife and i went to moon under water pub and brewery last thursday nite for "the burger flip". this is where your order a burger, the kitchen decides what to serve you and you get to flip a coin to see if you pay full price ($16) or half price ($8).

the service from christina was impeccable. christina was very knowledgeable about their beers and food and made our night even more special! cheers christina and thank you !

my burger was a delicious, huge beef burger with mushrooms, onions, cheese and greens. it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. i did get to choose my side which was a vegetable soup in a large bowl; quite delicious. at the end i flipped and won !

my wife had a bowl of fries (which was $6), very large portion and delicious. they had an aioli and seafood sauce on the side for dipping.

i had the beer sampler ($8 for a sample of all their beers (4 x 5 oz)) and i paid an extra $2 to try the 5th beer (seasonal).

then i had a "guest beer" (brewed by another micro brewery) it was a green flash brewing co.'s west coast ipa. very nice, and very hopsy for $6.

we had agreattime and again, thank you christina! we will be back, i promise!

was there tonight with a couple of friends for dinner. they had a good variety of in house beers plus several guest beers from other craft brewers. i went with the hefe which was really quite good. my friends had burgers and i had the salmon and chips which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by lots of fries. all and all,greatbeers, above average pub food and good service. a hidden gem.

my partner and i decided to pop in to the moon on a sunday evening and see if it is worthy of becoming a regular haunt. we were greeted by the charming and witty anne, server and owner extraordinaire. anne was agreathost, very personable, rolled with our quirky sense of humor and ensured we were served promptly. we ordered their in house brews and were not disappointed by the enormous glasses of delicious ale, for $5.50... awesome! my partner had the fish and chips - scrumptious and hot; i devoured the oyster burger - large and in charge! we left stuffed and fully satisfied. we will definitely be returning on a regular basis:greatservice,greatfood, cool atmosphere.

a surprise!. i went to celebrate a birthday party and music bingo last night and was really surprised by how much i enjoyed it! the food was excellent (tuna tataki tacos and herb fries) and friends were commenting on howgreatthe beer and mixed drinks were. a few friends ordered salad and they looked great. our server was excellent and the atmosphere was fun and friendly!
