best onion rings in my life. the first time i came here with a friend, we were unaware that it was an english style pub so we sat there for 20 minutes without anyone approaching us to inform us of the "order at bar" process. we ended up leaving in frustration without ordering anything. i decided to give this place another try a year later and this time the service had much improved. someone greeted us right away, informed us of how the ordering worked and we were served right away. the onion rings were literally the best i've ever eaten. the batter was extremely light, crispy and refreshing in the sense that it didn't give you the fatty saturated feeling when you know you ate a heart-attack meal. i was also impressed with the veggieburgerwhich had a really flavourful and large patty. theburgerwas warm and soft and a really large sized portion too. definitely recommend this place and will go back.

i was pleasantly surprised with this place. the beer i had was 20 oz and was like $5 and it was delicious. i then had aburgerwith it, which was also great. it's a smaller place but i found as well that our server was very friendly and attentive. i will definitely go back.

awesome veggie burger. holy cow!!! (pardon the pun), the veggieburgerrocks! i've only been to moon under water once, but it was recommended by a friend that i try the veggieburgerand they were not kidding! i will be back and it will be hard not to have it again. beer is good too!

great place for a beer and a burger.. love this place. the beer is amazing, and what goes well with a beer (or three)? aburgerof course. washed down with a couple more of their excellent, brewed on the premises, beers or guest ales. one thing victoria does well is brewpubs and this is one of the best. the simple décor and the location in the middle of an industrial estate just emphasise the excellence of the beer. did i mention they make good beer? looking forward to a few visits when i return to victoria next month.

to be avoided. what an awful waste, my wife and i have eaten here several times, however over the past three visits the food has gotten worse and worse. this last time, even though there were only five other people. there, the kitchen managed to serve cod when i had ordered salmon and theburgermy wife o

getting better and better. every since the change of ownership this place has been getting better and better. while i would rate the food anything above "pub" level (but, to be fair, it *is* a pub), the beer is great. the additional guest taps offer a great selection for a brewpub.

service can be a little slow if it's busy.

a good (re)start. i had gone once to the pub before the new ownership took over and had such a terrible time that i had sworn off returning *and* purchasing any of their beer (it was that bad). i recently heard about the new ownership and decided i'd let them get their feet wet before i'd return, which i did last night.

the atmosphere has been greatly improved. actually feels like a proper pub now (not sure what the previous owners were thinking). between two of us, we had some wings,burger(chicken and oyster) and a couple of beers (i had the potts pils which was great).

the service was probably slower than it should be for a 1/2-2/3 full restaurant, but we managed to occupy our time well enough.

the food was average, i'd say. it is pub fare, afterall. the chicken on theburgerlooked a little too formatted to be a nice fresh cut of chicken, so i assume their using some frozen meat of some kind. the bacon on theburgerwas thick and plentiful which was nice.

would love to see the food quality step it up a notch, i'll probably return. will definitely be buying some more of their beer, at least!

great food, superb beer and amazing service !. my wife and i went to moon under water pub and brewery last thursday nite for "theburgerflip". this is where your order a burger, the kitchen decides what to serve you and you get to flip a coin to see if you pay full price ($16) or half price ($8).

the service from christina was impeccable. christina was very knowledgeable about their beers and food and made our night even more special! cheers christina and thank you !

myburgerwas a delicious, huge beefburgerwith mushrooms, onions, cheese and greens. it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. i did get to choose my side which was a vegetable soup in a large bowl; quite delicious. at the end i flipped and won !

my wife had a bowl of fries (which was $6), very large portion and delicious. they had an aioli and seafood sauce on the side for dipping.

i had the beer sampler ($8 for a sample of all their beers (4 x 5 oz)) and i paid an extra $2 to try the 5th beer (seasonal).

then i had a "guest beer" (brewed by another micro brewery) it was a green flash brewing co.'s west coast ipa. very nice, and very hopsy for $6.

we had a great time and again, thank you christina! we will be back, i promise!

i'm so disappointed. they have one of my favorite ipas in town, but the restaurant was nooooo good. ordered the veggie burger, it was good, messy, but good. served me the wrong side salad, and served the second salad with bacon (i ordered a veggieburgerbecause i do not eat meat). boyfriend got the bacon and brie chicken burger, didn't like it. and his side of fries came stone cold. not a good experience at all. and it's too bad, because i really wanted it to be.

my partner and i decided to pop in to the moon on a sunday evening and see if it is worthy of becoming a regular haunt. we were greeted by the charming and witty anne, server and owner extraordinaire. anne was a great host, very personable, rolled with our quirky sense of humor and ensured we were served promptly. we ordered their in house brews and were not disappointed by the enormous glasses of delicious ale, for $5.50... awesome! my partner had the fish and chips - scrumptious and hot; i devoured the oysterburger- large and in charge! we left stuffed and fully satisfied. we will definitely be returning on a regular basis: great service, great food, cool atmosphere.

new look to the pub and a new menu.. i liked this place before, now i love it! they've added spinach & artichoke dip and a late night menu as well as a bacon chicken and brieburgerthat's to die for.. as well as some delicious desserts... this place is awesome.

i love the new feel of the moon. food is amazing ( oysterburgeris a must and the special always impresses ) the new owners have started brewing ultra premium german style beers. really excited to see what the moon does next.

excellent! had the creepy uncle drunkle - very tasty. and the blue moonburgerwas a good choice. a visit here and you will not be disappointed.

a place to not try. okay so the burgers were not too too bad (okay at best), the salmonburgerwas rather flavorless, gravy was like poorly seasoned flour and water and the fries were bag bottom fries you couldnt even dip them in the gravy without a fork, and the onion rings were terrible absolutely no seasoning in the batter, also the salad did not taste like it was clean very terrible tasting like dirt with a weak sauce also found a good sized lettuce core (heart) in it. the indian red ale was okay, and the indian pale ale could gag a maggot (beers were tested by 3 people) if your going to hit up a pub in that area go to gorge pointe pub.

good beer. the beer is excellent. not as good as a micro brewery but, one of the better brew pubs in town, esspecially if you like the hoppy ipa's like myself. theburgerwas great the first time i had one, and like a hocky puck the next. i told one of the wait staff about the badburgerand he said he would tell the cheff ("cook" might have been more descriptive). nothing in the way of remaking the burger. so, 5 stars for the beer, 1.5 for the food. note: if you like bud, you won't like the beer

i wanted to like this neighborhood pub but it ranks as one of my top three worst meals ever. it started with staff badgering me for a tip before i even received my food. next, i watched the server deliver our food two two other tables before finally bringing it to ours. when it arrived, theburgerwas tasteless and the bun a soggy doughy mass. my wife's fish was inedible: greasy, mushy batter and soggy fish. the onion rings were oil-soaked and the gravy flavorless. when we complained we were promised a refund. that refund was never forthcoming, however, and we finally gave up and left with empty stomachs and a bad taste in our mouths.
