hidden treasure in fyshwick. this little gem of a patisserie, masked by trees and nestled between giant industrial foundries is quite like a lovely little petunia in an onion patch. as the smoggy haze lifts whilst driving along barrier street, one will notice a glut of activity that is unexpected in such unspectacular surrounds. curious, and hungry, i decide to stop and sample the delicacies that lie within. the delicious aromas strike you first, and while the menu is simple, the pies and desserts look excellent. i had a fresh baguette with a very good coffee, and a macaroon for good measure, also very good

had the trio mousse cake and it was divine but thought the macaroons could have had a little more flavours..
service was fast even though they were busy..
overall happy and would go again..

cakes are nice, pies/quiche not worth it. i loved the odd little mousse type cakes. however, was less than impressed by the beef and red wine pie. after reading numerous reviews, i went in with high expectations. the filling, while chunky, lacked a distinctive flavour. i've had more flavourful frozen, heat yourself pies. the pastry was oily and flat. my partner's quiche was boring. if you are after cute and quirky cakes, it's the place to go. i'll have to keep looking for a better lunch option though.

tucked down a barren street lined with industrial estates in fyshwick, flute bakery appears like a shimmering mirage of gustatory salvation. even then, the canvas awnings and outdoor seating reveal little of what lays within. we push open the door to find an elegant french patisserie, pies and quiches in the warmer, a gleaming glass cabinet filled with gateaux, tarts, brioche and pastries, and shelves of crusty baguettes and breads behind the counter.
