the flute bakery

don't know how they stay in business. overpriced, limited hours, answering machine instead of picking up the phone.
they gave us the wrongbirthdaycakes ($75 worth) last friday. by the time we got home they were closed. i went in to speak with them about it and the owner was rude and didn’t care. very amateurish operation even by fyshwick standards.

the best place in canberra to get a gourmet cake, i would not go anywhere else for a cake that you want people to love. i would definitely recommend getting your nextbirthdaycake here if you havents had one from the flute before.

been orderingbirthdaycake for my hubby, my brother and myself from here for 7 years consecutively (and don't plan to stop) coz it's just that amazing! nothing in canberra can compare to flute's cake. the others may be better looking but taste wise, flute is always no. 1.

i proudly brought a few non canberrans friends here as well for morning tea coz again it's just that good.

ps: please have eftpos machine and start open on weekends...

consistently good cake every time! if you are in need for abirthdaycake or something sweet for a tea party, you can't go wrong with any choice from the flute.

very unpleasant experience with the flute bakery. wrong cake served does not deserve an apology, which is customer service i have been though.

i ordered a pear & caramel last thursday, which was picked up by my partner the next day. when i saw the box with "pear & caramel", i just opened it at ease, but i was so shocked to see another cake sitting there, which i have no idea what it is. pear & caramel is not supposed to be like that, so it must be something else. plus the base has filled with macadamia, which is not kids friendly apparently. it can't be used as abirthdaycake for my boy. the wholebirthdayparty was totally ruined.  

i just gave them a call this arvo, and honestly i was not expecting anything but an apology. over the phone call with belinda, who has claimed she is the owner of the shop, and she is the only one i can talk to, i was completely blamed it is too late to bring this matter to them, they cannot do anything even an apology.  

i won't come back to the shop for sure. all canberrans please don't visit the shop again. it is just a bakery who only knows how to bake without knowing respect.

prettybirthdaycake. ordered wild strawberry cake for my girlfriend'sbirthdaycelebration. it was very pretty but very sweet. would be much better if they reduce the sugar to add more tanginess to the cake. but overall it was a good value cake.

horrible costumer service. the cakes taste great if someone else buys it for you and you don't need to go inside the shop. the staff just don't care about the costumer. very carefree and rude. i went there to ask about theirbirthdaycakes and tried one of the cakes there. it was good but i will not order thebirthdaycake as i don't want to go to this shop again.

cute patisserie and bakery. i was determined to check out fluke bakery on a day off after tasting abirthdaytriple chocolate mousse cake that was brought into work. delicious! they are only open 9-3 on monday-friday. you can't miss it as there are tables, chairs and outdoor umbrella stands on their little patio. the little cakes are unique and i couldn't help but get excited over trying everything. there is a little dog that pops around in the afternoon, apparently a regular, and just sits there quietly. he was gorgeous. the cakes are yummy and i will definitely be going back for more. the only thing i didn't like was that by 2.30, the waiters were packing up the outdoor chairs and this made me feel like i had to rush and finish my coffee and cake quickly.

i remember when i went to timmys cousin’sbirthdaya few years ago and once i saw his beautiful cake, my first question was- ‘where did you get this!?’. ever since then most of my special occassion cakes, every day treats or when i want something delicious, i come here-
