rude staff and management. bad experience after telling the manager there was a piece of plastic in the pie. was told to leave and the pie was snatched away. no apology given nor a refund. on a separate note the coffee was bitter and burnt tasting. they boast the best pastries but i beg to differ the bottom of my pastry was black as if they don't clean their equipment. definitely a waste of time and money. would not be going back here again and would tell anyone to go here. shame on flutebakeryabsolutely disappointing.

after hearing so much about thisbakeryfinally got my husband to get me a takeaway. we had the chocolate one and the orange one. the orange which had a sponge had really lovely delicate flavours as for the chocolate it had a cheesecake centre. both were really beautiful.

every time i went back to canberra i had to go back to flutebakeryfor their delicious sausage roll and quiche.

they only open monday to friday, from 8:00-15ish. even it was early morning, ppl started coming through the door and buying freshly baked bread, pies, pastries and quiches for breakfast or just to take home to share.

coffee there was just ok. but a nice pot of hot tea would be nice to company your breakfast. the cake looked nice, tasted nice, but not impressive.

among all the products, i personally loved their quiche the most! filled with plenty of ham, cheese and onion, wrapped in a beautiful and flaky pastry shell, it just tasted amazing! the pie was nice but i preferred the sausage roll. we finished our breakfast with a cheesecake brioche, with airy & fluffy dough, sweet/sour custard &cream filling. sinful but delight!

recommend to everyone who is looking for nicebakeryfor fresh baked good/ pastries and decent pie, sausage roll and quiche. you must visit the flutebakerywhen you are in town.

the flute seems extremely out of place in the industrial locale of fyshwick, it's a sophisticated and refinedbakerythat tempts you from the moment you enter through its front-doors. the selection of cakes at the flute is fantastic and each piece is presented perfectly. definitely worth a visit, my recommendation is the strawberry tart, the fruit is perfect, the filling is rich and creamy and the base pastry is buttery, fresh and flavourful.

very unpleasant experience with the flute bakery. wrong cake served does not deserve an apology, which is customer service i have been though.

i ordered a pear & caramel last thursday, which was picked up by my partner the next day. when i saw the box with "pear & caramel", i just opened it at ease, but i was so shocked to see another cake sitting there, which i have no idea what it is. pear & caramel is not supposed to be like that, so it must be something else. plus the base has filled with macadamia, which is not kids friendly apparently. it can't be used as a birthday cake for my boy. the whole birthday party was totally ruined.

i just gave them a call this arvo, and honestly i was not expecting anything but an apology. over the phone call with belinda, who has claimed she is the owner of the shop, and she is the only one i can talk to, i was completely blamed it is too late to bring this matter to them, they cannot do anything even an apology.

i won't come back to the shop for sure. all canberrans please don't visit the shop again. it is just abakerywho only knows how to bake without knowing respect.

hidden away in fyshwick is this littlebakerythat sells cakes that make you smile. the decor is simple and fresh and a bit french. i love the choices of freshly made bread that looks fantastic. unfortunately i'm only one person so i chose to do two desserts.. a cake called mr smith and a apple and raisin struesel. the cake was so soft and creamy and just plain delicious. not only did it taste great it was very appealing to look at.. in fact so much so i ended up buying it. the struesel was so flaky and had a beautiful subtle taste that only good pastries. there was a bit of line when i got there but it powers through quickly. the customer service is ok but maybe they're just worn out with the amount of work they had to do. parking is a bit of challenge but worth every bite of their delicious food.

delicious cakes. absolutely wonderful flavours that dance in your mouth. my only real complaint is their opening hours, which ensure that 80% of the working class need to take a day off work in order to get there. is it so hard to open abakerycafe on a saturday? especially one as popular and no doubt profitable as this.

horrible management. i have been to flute a few times, in need ofbakeryfood, however this should not make up for the awful service. i never thought i would be treated so rudely by who looked to be the manager, being told to move away from the coffee machine, simply because it seemed i was too close and annoying her. there is limited respect for the customers, let alone the staff. they consistently look sad. through word of mouth there is an incapacity to treat staff with manners and ensure its somewhere enjoyable to work. it ruins the atmosphere. bad service every time no longer makes up for the product.

i absolutely love flute bakery, every time i have some time off from work, i’ll make a point of ensuring that i get down to fyshwick and hoard as many cakes from flutebakeryas possible. i love the cakes they make, they’re always super delicious, tasty and somehow also keep pretty well too. i mean i like adriano zumbo as much as the next person but flutebakeryis just always so consistent, every cake you get is so damn good.

flutebakeryis sadly only open monday to friday (approx 7-3pm). it offers beautiful cakes and pastries, well priced tea $2.50 per pot for one, coffee $3.50 and great bread. an assiette, a selection of four different treats is available for $8, making it a great way to share and savour a range of smaller portions. the decor is fine, but more ‘bakery’ like than cafe. a great spot for a coffee if weekday shopping in fyshwick.

flutebakery(hands down) makes the best cakes in canberra. i am tempted to go as far as saying that their cakes are better than those available in melbourne. - see more at: http://myfructosefreelife.com/the-flute-bakery/

this post is an amalgamation of the times i've visited the flutebakeryand their tasty treats. i'd heard of flutebakeryfrom several people, but as they're opening times are monday to friday 9am-3pm, it's almost impossible to visit. earlier this year, on a day off, i decided to check this place out for afternoon tea and a good book. in an odd location in the industrial area of fyshwick, you can’t miss it, as there are tables, chairs and outdoor umbrellas on the little front patio. there are a wide variety of little cakes, pastries and macarons. i couldn’t help but get excited at all the colours and types of cakes. no photos of the display cabinet are allowed, but they are happy for you to take photos of the food after you’ve purchased it. photos from the last few times i've visited: chocolate mousse cake salted caramel cake the 10 textured milk chocolate and white chocolate cake - what can i say but wow! absolutely loved this and could’ve kept eating 10 textured milk chocolate and wh

cute patisserie and bakery. i was determined to check out flukebakeryon a day off after tasting a birthday triple chocolate mousse cake that was brought into work. delicious! they are only open 9-3 on monday-friday. you can't miss it as there are tables, chairs and outdoor umbrella stands on their little patio. the little cakes are unique and i couldn't help but get excited over trying everything. there is a little dog that pops around in the afternoon, apparently a regular, and just sits there quietly. he was gorgeous. the cakes are yummy and i will definitely be going back for more. the only thing i didn't like was that by 2.30, the waiters were packing up the outdoor chairs and this made me feel like i had to rush and finish my coffee and cake quickly.

tucked down a barren street lined with industrial estates in fyshwick, flutebakeryappears like a shimmering mirage of gustatory salvation. even then, the canvas awnings and outdoor seating reveal little of what lays within. we push open the door to find an elegant french patisserie, pies and quiches in the warmer, a gleaming glass cabinet filled with gateaux, tarts, brioche and pastries, and shelves of crusty baguettes and breads behind the counter.
