it's about the experience.....not the food. friends recomended we visit this place while on vacation. the hostest said she was sorry out table wasnt completely wiped off as she sat us.....then disappeared. we flaged down another server to help us get it cleaned. food was ok. portions was huge! service was not great. had to get our own refills and other things we needed. waitress only returned to bring our check. restrooms were a nightmare......not sure if visible filth or smell was worse.

the food was good, and the proportions were good sized. we had the country boil. the restaurant was a little messy, and the restrooms were unisex with a long line. i would try it once to say i tried it.

this place is great!!!. if you like sticky tables and styrofoam cups. and...eating with a garbage can under the table. stay away!

do as the tourists do!!!. we were tourists in tybee and told this is a must try, and we liked it alot. the atmosphere was great, the service was great. we went for lunch and thought the prices looked a bit much, however, we were wrong, the portions are huge. the lo country boil is 23.99, but it can feed at least 5 adults. in any case, we got the totally moderately priced lunch specials, they were 7.99 each and both were good. we also got some drinks, and they do not skimp on the alcohol, they were tasty and strong brews. we also fed the gators and looked at the birds. its good and chintzy in the best way possible.

not as good as it used to be. we used to eat here every trip to tybee because the seafood was so good. this last trip was a disappointment. service was good, but the food did not deliver. kids had fun feeding the alligator & looking at the birds, so the wait to be seated wasn't bad at all.

unless you're die hard sea food lover, u got no chance of liking the food. ordered mussels with wine sauce and bout half were closed (dead). son and wife's smashed taters were ice cold. server dustin was real cool but not a fan of this place.

terrible service.. waited an hour for our food for the waitress to ask us how everything was except we never got food. huge waste of time!! we walked out..terrible experience.

good local seafood in a down-home atmosphere. go to the beach and then stop here after for dinner. don't bother to change. the country decor and tables with a garbage can in the middle might not appeal to more aristocratically inclined diners, but the food will appeal to anyone who likes fresh, straight-forward seafood. two of my companions ordered the sample platter for one and split it. my low country shrimp boil was just the right size, and the drink was included in the price. anyone who calls the crab shack over priced or the portions small should just be ignored. service was friendly and attentive enough.

go if you like good seafood, good portions and reasonable prices. stay away if you're looking for a white linen tablecloth.

good service small portions. service was great! prices were average but the portions were small in the opinion of our party. we had 8 people and our server was awesome! fried green tomatoes were not the best i have had i think the breaking was too thick for my taste. my brother got 1/2 pound shrimp app and there were only about 5 shrimp so the waitress brought him a couple more. we got a boil with oysters, crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausage. very good but gain small for what you pay. would go back for the atmosphere but need to not be too hungry.

awesome atmosphere and kid friendly. food was great. i did not care for all the cats around the building, but the kids liked them.
we'll eat here again.

awesome crab legs in a great relaxed setting!. if you are looking for some awesome seafood after a day on the beach this place has it all! our family engulfed 4 lbs of steamed crab legs (with sausage, corn on the cob and new potatoes) and it was on point. we have eaten at all the great downtown restaurants and still find this place amongst our favorites! for great seafood in a casual atmosphere this is your place. we also were treated to some great live music out on the patio! nice job!!!!

never do you want to leave a restaurant thinking "why did i just pay $30 for a meal i could of done myself" food was boring and over priced and the staff was so so. at least the view was nice...

expensive food. not for vegetarians, clearly.. waiter was nice, but he disappeared. brought us our drinks. brought us our food. never came back. didn't bring us more drinks. didn't ask about our food. and if he had, i would have sent mine back. the description in the brochure said not to worry if you don't eat seafood, they have food for landlubbers, too. not for vegetarians. i'm used to ordering side dishes to make a meal. he told me they'd steam the corn instead of boiling it with the seafood. they clearly cooked it with the seafood and then rinsed it with cold water. it was gross. mashed potatoes were nearly inedible. margaritas weren't bad but were overpriced. highly recommend skipping this place.

bland expensive food but good location. this is a place where everyone will say to go and that's bc of the atmosphere. the food is really so so and expensive! but, the place is really cool. i say go there and visit but eat somewhere else.
