terrible service, sub-par food. my flounder sandwich was about 2 inches of bread, and .05 inches of fish. definitely a tourist trap. if you enjoy actual good food, you should avoid this spot.

yes a cat can increase my rating! tootsie didn't bother us and just so cute sleeping by our table. the sampler platter was perfect. the keylime pie was a bit disappointing bc it is store bought. i know because i was the ops mgr. for edwards (schwans baking) and i know the pie. we could have skipped the dessert. savannah has better desserts.

fantastic location. crab was amazing, and prices were very reasonable. will definitely come back. actually, we are headed to charleston this weekend and plan to eat at the crab shack again.

my husband and i ate here after a day at the beach. we came right before dinner, which was perfect! the outdoor patio was breezy as we sipped on frozen drinks and ate peanuts. we got a crab and shrimp bucket (about $42) and the drinks were about $7 each. not too bad...but that is pretty typical for a touristy beach seafood joint. this is a great spot if you're in the area, but nothing to drive out of your way for.

very cool place! we went here for seafood and that's what we got! we ordered the sampler for 2 and it was enough to feed 6! very generous portions for a great price! they also have gators you can feed and a bird house with exotic birds. the atmosphere was very cool and exactly the kind of vibe you want when visiting the beach!

had lunch of 1/2 pound boiled shrimp, which was good. the lump crab salad was ok, served over lettuce with cucumber and avocado. really too many other places with better choices, do not likely to return

i thought it was a little pricey and they had a pretty small menu. we ordered the meal for two and it was a lot of food. the seafood was good. i wasn't a huge fan of the sausage that it came with. it did have a pretty cool atmosphere and they have alligators out front that you can look at which is fun for kids! definitely a touristy-type restaurant.

the crab shack was super fun. the service was fantastic and prompt. the staff was really friendly. the setting though is what made it idyllic. the lagoon backdrop and christmas lights on the trees in the back porch style dining area was excellent. my seafood plate i had was pretty good. the crawfish and shrimp were particularly tasty. the only complaint i could offer was that the seafood could have been a little hotter, but otherwise this a great little beach stop. it's a charming tourist trap. its charm comes from its kitsch, so if you want to be elitist you can skip it, but you shouldn't be an elitist and therefore, you should go. that might be a bit of a logical fallacy, but valid arguments aren't always tasty platters of seasonal shell fish!

was not the best dining experience. parking was a nightmare. the service was ok. the smell in the restaurant was not a good smell. we won't be back.

great atmosphere great food. weekend trip to fb for a r&r trip. cool and rainy the whole time but the "shack" was the answer. i'm sure it gets packed in the summer but do not miss a chance to dine here. andrew was our server. attentive, quick with suggestions but not pushy. we had the grilled shrimp and crab cakes. cakes were great, not alot of filler, no shells and perfect seasoning. key lime pie is also highly recommended. thanks shack and thanks andrew! we'll be back soon.

go for the experience, not necessarily for the food. decided to give this spot a thumbs up because it is an unusual restaurant. there are plenty of things to see and do before and after dinning. this spot is not for seafood lovers as the seafood is way overcooked and not the highest quality. that said, the platters of food are plentiful and not all that expensive. this place is not for the festidious as the cleaning standards are more than a bit lax. tables, menus etc are rather greasy (the bathrooms could use a good cleaning). and that grease is not butter, a great big no no in my books. the crab shack is very busy so it's quite popular. i'm glad we went, will not be back, but it was a nice experience. the seafood lover and clean freak in me make a return most unlikely.

great!. great service and food! it has a very chill and relaxed environment which make it a perfect spot for after the beach. i've taken my dog there and they even brought out a bowl of water for her! excellent restaurant.

order the crab - everything else was.... meh...average. love the vibe and atmosphere - feels like an old school movie set, and your kids will like all the places you can take photos / see the alligators. we had a group of 5 adults and 3 kids and ordered the 4 adult crab shack platter/special - it was a ton of food (you hope so for 80 bucks). the crab was awesome, fresh, descent sized. but after that, everything else on the platter was just average. so, plenty of food for the money, but if your a seafood connoisseur - trying to find the utopia of seafood in the savannah area, you will probably be slightly disappointed.

i would go back for the atmosphere and the crab again. but would likely avoid spending a ton on anything else.

yummy. great restaurant! close to home and every time friends from out of town visit, we love to take them to the crab shack!
