the crab shack

fbcs was so disappointing: staff was rude,serviceslow, and food completely subpar and overpriced. they made a gross cocktail but the manager, the only redeeming quality of the restaurant, removed it from our work bill. go to surf bar, ritas, or others on fb.

had the peel and eat shrimp, while very tasty they were very small and were the most difficult to peel shrimp i have ever had. a decent pulled pork sandwich.servicewas adequate.

we usually go to rita's, but we wanted to try something new. we visited the crab shack, our waitress was fabulous! there were three guests in my party and three out of three entrees were not done, our steamed oysters were not steamed at all, actually they were as raw as our raw ones! great atmosphere, greatservicebut the food did leave somethingto be ddesired. sorry guys just not up to standard!

we just love the goodserviceon s dock right on the water. our crabs & shrimp were fresh and yummy!

we sat outside and it was open for a nice breeze and fans running. wife ordered mahi-mahi grilled sandwich and i had mahi-mahi fried tacos. both were cooked well. nothing spectacular but worth the money.servicewas friendly just took a long tome for the food and did not seem overly busy. i tried the key lime pie. it was good. a traditional type. thick and heavier with that key lime tang. over pretty good but not awesome.

decided to eat some seafood while at folly beach. hit the crab shack and got their "marsh madness" special - a bucket of shrimp, mussels, and clams served with potatoes and corn. my son got a similar bucket with crab. my wife decided on the coconut shrimp. overall the buckets were pretty good. a bit spendy - especially the crab. the coconut shrimp was just ok. shrimp were good, but sides were not very good. buckets were tasty, but the corn was waaaaaay over cooked. theservicewas a bit slow. although we enjoyed our meals, i would try a different spot next time.

the restaurant was not crowded was somewhat busy all we order appetizers house puppies and crab stuffed mushrooms and a house salad it took 25 to 30 minutes just to get them out i consider that a very long wait for appetizers

food was a little over cooked but flavor was good. great atmosphere, friendlyservicebut a little over priced. all in all we would go back.

i didn't think that this place had that great of seafood. the price for these types of food in this are very comparable, but the food wasn't that great. will probably not return.servicewas so so.

so wish i was back here today on this horrible weather day in ireland. the weather was amazing and the seafood platter was so fresh and tasty. staff were like all americanservicestaff, friendly and helpful. if you are in savannah this place is a must. a taste and atmosphere of the deep south.

this is an absolutely outstanding seafood restaurant with all of the wonderful beach ambiance. the food is 4+ stars out of 5 stars. theservicewas 5 stars. all of the food that i had and my guest ate was correctly seasoned with  the proper portions.the atmosphere is laidback and unpretentious, but the wait staff and bartenders keep a watchful eye out for their customers in seeing that they lack nothing to hinder having a wonderful dining experience. i also keenly noticed that they also anticipated their customers needs correctly before i could request something. i was told ron hill is a long time restaurateur at some of charleston's excellent seafood establishments and both his training and experience rise up to and beyond the task of providing a most welcomed experience of dining out. just wish i could pack up this place and take it home. .respectfully, don bradley (formerly from orangeburg now from goose creek)well done mr. hill and you wonderful restaurant staff !!!. .

the crab shack was super fun. theservicewas fantastic and prompt. the staff was really friendly. the setting though is what made it idyllic. the lagoon backdrop and christmas lights on the trees in the back porch style dining area was excellent. my seafood plate i had was pretty good. the crawfish and shrimp were particularly tasty. the only complaint i could offer was that the seafood could have been a little hotter, but otherwise this a great little beach stop. it's a charming tourist trap. its charm comes from its kitsch, so if you want to be elitist you can skip it, but you shouldn't be an elitist and therefore, you should go. that might be a bit of a logical fallacy, but valid arguments aren't always tasty platters of seasonal shell fish!

was not the best dining experience. parking was a nightmare. theservicewas ok. the smell in the restaurant was not a good smell. we won't be back.

great!. greatserviceand food! it has a very chill and relaxed environment which make it a perfect spot for after the beach. i've taken my dog there and they even brought out a bowl of water for her! excellent restaurant.
