succotash = amazing.. today i dined at succotash for the 3rd time ever. the last 2 times were over 2 years ago. after today, i am baffled why i have waited 2 years to go back....this place is truly amazing. their food is phenomenal. i mean, enough said. i haven't tried everything on their menu, but i definitely plan to do so. it's so delicious, that i am dying to try everything atleast once. today i ordered the gouda with artichoke hearts on grilled sourdough. i had a small house salad on the side...pure heaven. i also had the americano...the best americano ever. my friend actually ordered a slice of the citrus cake. a slice, right? it was the biggest "slice" of cake i could ever imagine a "slice" to be. it could feed 6 people, and it was beautiful. i really never considered a slice of cake as art. well, i was mistaken. if anything, just go to succotash and ask to see their citrus cake. gorgeous. succotash is, without a freakin doubt, my fav restaurant in kansas city.

ate here for mother's day brunch, and it was phenomenal. i had the morel bacon benedict, and the whole thing was beyond outstanding. we arrived at opening, so had no issue getting seated and had great service. i ordered fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and it was perfection.

my only complaint (and sole reason for only 4 stars) is that the restaurant needs a serious deep clean. the walls appear to have years of diner leftovers, the floors are sadly uncared for, and this is the second visit and seating location that has confirmed this for me. the meal and utensils are spotless, but the walls, floor and bathroom need some serious attention.

i'm a picky eater. i'm tired of restaurants serving pre-cooked frozen food. you won't find any of that here. we all tried something different, every entree was fantastic! home cooked, fresh ingredients, fun options. the service was fast, friendly, and our food arrived incredibly fast. they were pretty busy especially since it was mother's day. we will be back for sure. thanks for renewing my faith in the restaurant experience!

went for lunch today and they were fairly busy, but the food and drinks came out pretty quick. there was a little mix up with one of the two orders but it wasn't a big deal and they were nice and apologetic. we ordered the swedish pancakes, a sandwich and a few fresh lemonades. the sandwich was really big and and the pancakes were interesting, a little different than normal americanized pancakes. worth it if you are wanting something a little different. the building is a little older, but the atmosphere is fun. i would recommend to anyone in the area.

great little place for breakfast. the decor in this place is the first thing you'll notice. it is kitschy and fun to look at, as long as you're not seated across from the over-sized picture of the woman with red stuff dripping out of her mouth. that picture is just plain disturbing when you're trying to eat. you have to check out the bathrooms in this place.

the service was friendly, but a tad bit slow, but there was no wait to get a table. the food was good and fairly creative with very large portions. i will definitely try this place again.

the worst breakfast experience i have had in a very long time. server recommended the "kitchen sink" and it turned out to be just that; something u would picture inside a garbage disposal. i could hear microwave doors open and shut as i was the only one waiting for food. the cheese appeared to be melted via a microwave and the gravy was less than room temperature. would have been better off driving down the highway and throwing $10 out the window coz it would have been more rewarding. even though have been on diners, drive ins and dives, save yourself the disappointment and stop at mcdonalds or even better yjs snack bar

live in this neighborhood so i’ve been here a bunch. food is always good. hostesses seem to change a lot but must all be trained to have an attitude. usually seems to have empty tables but i always have to wait. most of the staff is very nice and hard working.

while visiting kc stumbled on this slice of brunch heaven. the service was exceptional! the restaurant is full of charm and character. the menu is healthy and fresh to your table. our favorite was the fresh pressed juice bar. we enjoyed it so much we went two days straight! can’t wait to return to kc so we can eat here! don’t miss the best breakfast in kc!

excellent food. fresh, creative, uber hip. it is a small, casual spot. best daytime bite in that area. a great way to discover new ideas - wish there was one further south.

went here for the first time today and loved it! my friend highly recommended it for brunch so we went. we ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict and the salmon egg white omelet. both were absolutely delicious! we both ordered juices from their drink menu, they have many choices and they were delicious.. maybe not worth $5 for the size but i was not disappointed! cant wait to go here again to try something new on the menu, it all looked amazing!

a cozy, corner diner playing good music with an excellent, friendly staff, good coffee, and the feel of a place that has been around forever. the menu at first seems basic, but has a lot of byo options to cater to everyone's needs. vegan? dietary restrictions? not a problem. blueberry pancakes were excellent and veggie kitchen sink looked like a pile of dirty dishes, while tasting so good you won't need to run them through the wash. did i mention it's very well priced too??

fantastic breakfast joint. lots to choose on the menu. one of my dining partners tried the sumo, which is a food challenge. he did not finish it. nice coffee bar.

service is a dice roll. i used to love succotash, but their staff changes so often one can never be sure of getting a decent server. i have had to wait 20 minutes at the counter for a cup of coffee, and another 10 to have my order taken. other times, i have had a fun experience, but it's just too much a gamble.

they need to clean up their act. i went in with high expectations. i ordered a sandwich with fries and got a dry baguette with macaroni salad. the bread almost broke my front teeth. the sandwich was supposed to be made with arugala and there was nary a leaf of the stuff. the cake was beautiful. thank heaven i could eat it with my new dentures!
