the eggs benedict was very good; the freshest ingredients i've tasted. the blueberry pancake was exceptional.

happy stomach= a happy heart. i absolutely love this place. i've been eating at succotash since before they moved and have always left happy. the food is amazing, especially breakfast. the service can be a little slow but it's totally worth the wait. the portions are huge. (i always have enough left over for breakfast the next day!) i adore the fresh juices.

food is good and flavorful. huge portions for breakfast. service is downright awful. the server wouldn't look or speak to my boyfriend. she didn't even take his plate off the table when we were finished. it was...odd to say the least.
if you like to people watch and enjoy delicious food simultaneously, this is the place for you.

tried it twice now once for breakfast and once for lunch. both times the service and the food was horrible.

the food here is awesome. the pork hash is highly recommended. the service is garbage. you thought the hipster bar tender at port fonda was bad but this place takes the cake. we were seated by a friendly host and then waited for service for 10min. my wife then asked for someone to come over and no one came. we saw waitress refuse to serve us. at this point we got up to leave but the host convinced us to stay and said someone would be right over. no one came and again we saw the waitress arguing with host and refuse us service. we are not going back. we brought relatives here from out of town. this restaurant embarrassed us and themselves. if you respect yourself you won't go here.

fun and funky place, but watch your bill. they overcharged me on both my food and the tax. between the two overcharges it was almost seven dollars on a thirty dollar tab.

funky neighborhood cafe. a really funky neighborhood place with a great breakfast selection. much more than just bacon and eggs. they have several fesh-made juices that will give you something different to drink. three of us spent about $45 and had plenty to eat.

the restaurant is located in downtown kansas city. it doesn’t look like much from the outside...

i went for breakfast mid morning with friends. it was my out first visit. when we first arrived we waited for 5 min by the 'please wait to be seated' sign. about 5 tables were filled and 2 servers running around. finally someone acknowledged us and said we could pick anywhere. we were there 90 min from arrival to the time we finally received our change for our bill. slow all the way around. the food was ok. i had blueberry pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs. the pancakes were good and bigger than the plate. the eggs on the otherhand tasted as though the were cooked in the microwave too long. my friends had the veggie sink and salmon wrap. both said the dishes were good but not great. i would try them again but probably not again if the visit is like this one.

i’ve always been a fan of succotash, but more so since beth barden moved the operation to 26th and holmes a couple of years ago. it still has the funkiness of the original river market location, but service is better and it’s more spacious. with a larger kitchen, the offerings have expanded to include so many mouthwatering options that i always have trouble deciding what to order.

good breakfast joint with a few problems.... i had the smoked salmon eggs benedict. for the most part, it was really good. the topping and sauce to muffin ratio was good--this is something i am a little particular about because i like to have everything in every single bite. the hollandaise was delicious--buttery and herbaceous. the muffin was a dense whole wheat kind that i think they over heated and then when it cooled it became hard. the first half i ate was fine but by the time i got to the second i couldn't cut it with the knife. the most disappointing part was the home fries. they were half completely burned and half completely limp while being wholly unseasoned.

this is my second visit to succotash. i remember liking my previous experience so despite these mishaps i will this give it another try in the future. i have read other reviews of mediocre service which i think just comes with the territory. i get the feeling that the servers only tend to their own tables and don't even acknowledge anyone that they are not personally waiting on. as a server myself, this is a little disheartening. team effort would go a long way.

fun & funky. a little bit of nola in kcmo. funky decor with just the right touch of decrepitude. my late breakfast, early brunch if you like, is going to last me all day. the three-eg, ham and smoked gouda omelette with home fries and wheat toast was well made and pretty damned huge. fresh oj andn a capuccino rounded it out. i'll be back, again, and again

meh. i wanted to like it but the food did not wow me. very typical breakfast food. the giant picture of the woman with tomato soup dripping down her chin was extremely unappetizing and definitely affected my appetite. probably won't be back. too many other great spots in k.c.

good local brunch/breakfast spot. succotash is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots. so far i've liked just about everything i've had there. the pancakes are massive! overall, the food is very good. service can be slow sometimes, but that is usually because the place is packed.

amazing food. great atmosphere. staff is very friendly. place was recommended by local guy we met. we like this place.
