succotash

succotash = amazing.. today i dined at succotash for the 3rd time ever. the last 2 times were over 2 years ago. after today, i am baffled why i have waited 2 years to go back....thisplaceis truly amazing. their food is phenomenal. i mean, enough said. i haven't tried everything on their menu, but i definitely plan to do so. it's so delicious, that i am dying to try everything atleast once. today i ordered the gouda with artichoke hearts on grilled sourdough. i had a small house salad on the side...pure heaven. i also had the americano...the best americano ever. my friend actually ordered a slice of the citrus cake. a slice, right? it was the biggest "slice" of cake i could ever imagine a "slice" to be. it could feed 6 people, and it was beautiful. i really never considered a slice of cake as art. well, i was mistaken. if anything, just go to succotash and ask to see their citrus cake. gorgeous. succotash is, without a freakin doubt, my fav restaurant in kansas city.

great littleplacefor breakfast. the decor in thisplaceis the first thing you'll notice. it is kitschy and fun to look at, as long as you're not seated across from the over-sized picture of the woman with red stuff dripping out of her mouth. that picture is just plain disturbing when you're trying to eat. you have to check out the bathrooms in this place.

the service was friendly, but a tad bit slow, but there was no wait to get a table. the food was good and fairly creative with very large portions. i will definitely try thisplaceagain.

a cozy, corner diner playing good music with an excellent, friendly staff, good coffee, and the feel of aplacethat has been around forever. the menu at first seems basic, but has a lot of byo options to cater to everyone's needs. vegan? dietary restrictions? not a problem. blueberry pancakes were excellent and veggie kitchen sink looked like a pile of dirty dishes, while tasting so good you won't need to run them through the wash. did i mention it's very well priced too??

titans fans in chiefs kingdom. we visited kc to watch our team, the titans against the chiefs. we picked thisplaceout weeks in advance and we were not disappointed! the atmosphere was great, the decor fun and the food was amazing. the staff was nice to us, even though we had our titans gear on. on the way out, i asked one of the girls for directions. like a true chiefs fan, she took this opportunity to talk a little trash. i hope she remembered us when the titans won!

wonderfulplaceto visit in kc! fun atmosphere with a solid menu. nothing fancy, but well worth a visit. the fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing! the breakfast entree called the kitchen sink is delish and enough for two. blueberry pancakes were beyond good.

very cool place. the recently negative reviews show that it all depends on the waitstaff and kitchen staff working that day. was a bit apprehensive this am but had a great experience. theplaceis packed (writing this at my table) but was seated immediately. very funky; high piercing/tattoo ratio, very friendly. good food. the huge painting of a woman leaking tomato soup out of her mouth is an anti-appetizer and having only grape jelly are minor gripes. great eggs (deep yellow -- free range i'm guessing), great coffee. if i lived here i'd be a regular.

grossed out before even ordering!. i was excited to try thisplacebecause i have heard the food was great.......sadly i never even made it to ordering. came in with my husband in the morning & the first thing we noticed was a wall size photo of a girl eating tomato soup with it running down her chin- this may sound cool & artsy but it was creepy & turned my stomach. next we were sat by a server whose shorts barely covered her butt & her breasts we not covered either. looking around i noticed all the servers were dressed like club kids & that turned my stomach. thats fine if thats your style but i have a thing with half naked people serving my food- it just grosses me out. to make matters worse the tables are crammed in this shop so tight you can barely breathe and when seated at our extremely small table we realized a third of the table was taken up by ads, napkins salt shakers that hadnt been dusted in months! just completely covered in thick dust and food.....i tried to ignore that the table was sticky while i read over my sticky menu....after a few minutes and a server that never returned i realized i had lost my appetite anyway & asked my husband if he would mind driving to another location for brunch.....he replied "gladly." we left. i dont think i could ever even order to go after how dirty theplacewas. my advice.... just start with cleaning.

food is good and flavorful. huge portions for breakfast. service is downright awful. the server wouldn't look or speak to my boyfriend. she didn't even take his plate off the table when we were finished. it was...odd to say the least.
if you like to people watch and enjoy delicious food simultaneously, this is theplacefor you.

the food here is awesome. the pork hash is highly recommended. the service is garbage. you thought the hipster bar tender at port fonda was bad but thisplacetakes the cake. we were seated by a friendly host and then waited for service for 10min. my wife then asked for someone to come over and no one came. we saw waitress refuse to serve us. at this point we got up to leave but the host convinced us to stay and said someone would be right over. no one came and again we saw the waitress arguing with host and refuse us service. we are not going back. we brought relatives here from out of town. this restaurant embarrassed us and themselves. if you respect yourself you won't go here.

funky neighborhood cafe. a really funky neighborhoodplacewith a great breakfast selection. much more than just bacon and eggs. they have several fesh-made juices that will give you something different to drink. three of us spent about $45 and had plenty to eat.

good local brunch/breakfast spot. succotash is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots. so far i've liked just about everything i've had there. the pancakes are massive! overall, the food is very good. service can be slow sometimes, but that is usually because theplaceis packed.

like it, but a little torn. i liked the food, but the coffee was a bit to tar-like and thick for my liking. i had to add a lot of creamer and sugar.

i also felt very out ofplacein this restaurant for some reason or another. was it the crowd staring at us for having a loud kid? possibly, but still families eat out and sometimes people have loud kids.

i enjoyed my kitchen sink plate...but the vibes were just off.

best brunch/breakfast in kc!. i've never been to aplacewhere i wanted to order every single item on the menu...until i went to succotash. i have been back 4 times now and have tried something new every time, though my favorite has been the count of monte delicious. a ham and sharp cheddar sandwich on cranberry walnut french toast...shut up! the banana caramel french toast was another fave. can't wait to eat my way through the whole menu! the interior is very cute too, reminds me of an anthropologie catalog.

thisplaceis just cool. good good brunch food. i love eating here and will keep eating here. i even like the cheapy look i think its cute
