succotash = amazing.. today i dined at succotash for the 3rd time ever. the last 2 times were over 2 years ago. after today, i am baffled why i have waited 2 years to go back....this place is truly amazing. theirfoodis phenomenal. i mean, enough said. i haven't tried everything on their menu, but i definitely plan to do so. it's so delicious, that i am dying to try everything atleast once. today i ordered the gouda with artichoke hearts on grilled sourdough. i had a small house salad on the side...pure heaven. i also had the americano...the best americano ever. my friend actually ordered a slice of the citrus cake. a slice, right? it was the biggest "slice" of cake i could ever imagine a "slice" to be. it could feed 6 people, and it was beautiful. i really never considered a slice of cake as art. well, i was mistaken. if anything, just go to succotash and ask to see their citrus cake. gorgeous. succotash is, without a freakin doubt, my fav restaurant in kansas city.

i'm a picky eater. i'm tired of restaurants serving pre-cooked frozen food. you won't find any of that here. we all tried something different, every entree was fantastic! home cooked, fresh ingredients, fun options. the service was fast, friendly, and ourfoodarrived incredibly fast. they were pretty busy especially since it was mother's day. we will be back for sure. thanks for renewing my faith in the restaurant experience!

went for lunch today and they were fairly busy, but thefoodand drinks came out pretty quick. there was a little mix up with one of the two orders but it wasn't a big deal and they were nice and apologetic. we ordered the swedish pancakes, a sandwich and a few fresh lemonades. the sandwich was really big and and the pancakes were interesting, a little different than normal americanized pancakes. worth it if you are wanting something a little different. the building is a little older, but the atmosphere is fun. i would recommend to anyone in the area.

great little place for breakfast. the decor in this place is the first thing you'll notice. it is kitschy and fun to look at, as long as you're not seated across from the over-sized picture of the woman with red stuff dripping out of her mouth. that picture is just plain disturbing when you're trying to eat. you have to check out the bathrooms in this place.

the service was friendly, but a tad bit slow, but there was no wait to get a table. thefoodwas good and fairly creative with very large portions. i will definitely try this place again.

live in this neighborhood so i’ve been here a bunch.foodis always good. hostesses seem to change a lot but must all be trained to have an attitude. usually seems to have empty tables but i always have to wait. most of the staff is very nice and hard working.

titans fans in chiefs kingdom. we visited kc to watch our team, the titans against the chiefs. we picked this place out weeks in advance and we were not disappointed! the atmosphere was great, the decor fun and thefoodwas amazing. the staff was nice to us, even though we had our titans gear on. on the way out, i asked one of the girls for directions. like a true chiefs fan, she took this opportunity to talk a little trash. i hope she remembered us when the titans won!

delicious ecclecticity. thefoodat succotash is simple but absolutely delicious. the staff is friendly and the service is great. succotash is a wonderful little kansas city find who's secret is quickly being revealed. a bit crowded on the weekends but thefoodand experience is well worth being (very) close to strangers while eating. the artwork gives off a whimsical vibe and makes for great conversation. when visiting succotash, both the crab claw eggs benedict and the tuna melt are must trys!

service is terrible. i agree with the last reviewer... i don't know what's happened at succotash, but their service is absolutely terrible. don't get me wrong, theirfoodrocks, but i'm not sure it's worth tolerating their cranky staff. they snap at you... will not oblige simple requests... and frankly, they make you feel like a giant inconvenience. i used to be their biggest fan, now i find myself sharing my customer service horror stories with everyone i know. sorry succotash - if you want to make it, you better start improving your staff's attitudes.

the worst. if you like waiting outside for nearly two hours, being scolded by waitresses like a naughty school child, and getting an all around feeling of being judged, you should probably check out succotash. i have never in my life had a worse restaurant experience. after being shunned outside to wait in the cold for more than an hour and a half, we were brought to our table by a young woman who, frankly, looked like she hated everyone and everything. upon asking us if we wanted separate checks, and hearing our reply of yes, the waitress then admonished us for wanting separate checks as if it were our idea, saying that they normally don't allow separate checks for a party of our size (six people). she rudely took our orders and went away. after we ate and paid, the waitress accidentally spilled a plate on the floor (totally understandable, accidents happen) and bent down to clean it up just as i had stood up to put on my coat. i was patiently standing, waiting for her to clean up, when she looked up at me and spat, "could you wait, please?" as if i had been forcing my way through her mess on the ground.

i don't know if it was just a bad day for this grungy, hipster waitress, but she made for the most tense and horrific brunch anyone has ever had. that, coupled with our horrendously long wait, was enough to make sure that i would never, ever go back to succotash.

thefoodwas decent - but no amount of deliciousness could have made up for that experience.

awesome place. sunday morn, 9:30am and 18 degrees outside we found succotash both toasty and full. we waited just a few min for a table and noticed a consistant stream of people both coming and going. waiter took our order quickly and knew the menu well. after a brief wait, foodarrived both fresh and hot. all three of us enjoyed our breakfast. although they don't have hash brown potatoes, their fried potatoes were excellent. atmosphere was like a small urban casual cafe with weird pics, writings on the wall, lots of people in come as you are attire.

we will be back!

grossed out before even ordering!. i was excited to try this place because i have heard thefoodwas great.......sadly i never even made it to ordering. came in with my husband in the morning & the first thing we noticed was a wall size photo of a girl eating tomato soup with it running down her chin- this may sound cool & artsy but it was creepy & turned my stomach. next we were sat by a server whose shorts barely covered her butt & her breasts we not covered either. looking around i noticed all the servers were dressed like club kids & that turned my stomach. thats fine if thats your style but i have a thing with half naked people serving my food- it just grosses me out. to make matters worse the tables are crammed in this shop so tight you can barely breathe and when seated at our extremely small table we realized a third of the table was taken up by ads, napkins salt shakers that hadnt been dusted in months! just completely covered in thick dust and food.....i tried to ignore that the table was sticky while i read over my sticky menu....after a few minutes and a server that never returned i realized i had lost my appetite anyway & asked my husband if he would mind driving to another location for brunch.....he replied "gladly." we left. i dont think i could ever even order to go after how dirty the place was. my advice.... just start with cleaning.

the smoked salmon club is one of the best sandwiches i've ever had in my life. i showed up without placing a to go order beforehand, and was greeted promptly, handed a menu, and delivered myfoodall very quickly. i'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.
