great little place for breakfast. the decor in this place is the first thing you'll notice. it is kitschy and fun to look at, as long as you're not seated across from the over-sized picture of the woman with red stuff dripping out of her mouth. that picture is just plain disturbing when you're trying to eat. you have to check out the bathrooms in this place.

the service was friendly, but a tad bit slow, but there was nowaitto get a table. the food was good and fairly creative with very large portions. i will definitely try this place again.

went here for the first time today and loved it! my friend highly recommended it for brunch so we went. we ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict and the salmon egg white omelet. both were absolutely delicious! we both ordered juices from their drink menu, they have many choices and they were delicious.. maybe not worth $5 for the size but i was not disappointed! cantwaitto go here again to try something new on the menu, it all looked amazing!

service is a dice roll. i used to love succotash, but their staff changes so often one can never be sure of getting a decent server. i have had towait20 minutes at the counter for a cup of coffee, and another 10 to have my order taken. other times, i have had a fun experience, but it's just too much a gamble.

the worst. if you like waiting outside for nearly two hours, being scolded by waitresses like a naughty school child, and getting an all around feeling of being judged, you should probably check out succotash. i have never in my life had a worse restaurant experience. after being shunned outside towaitin the cold for more than an hour and a half, we were brought to our table by a young woman who, frankly, looked like she hated everyone and everything. upon asking us if we wanted separate checks, and hearing our reply of yes, the waitress then admonished us for wanting separate checks as if it were our idea, saying that they normally don't allow separate checks for a party of our size (six people). she rudely took our orders and went away. after we ate and paid, the waitress accidentally spilled a plate on the floor (totally understandable, accidents happen) and bent down to clean it up just as i had stood up to put on my coat. i was patiently standing, waiting for her to clean up, when she looked up at me and spat, "could you wait, please?" as if i had been forcing my way through her mess on the ground.

i don't know if it was just a bad day for this grungy, hipster waitress, but she made for the most tense and horrific brunch anyone has ever had. that, coupled with our horrendously long wait, was enough to make sure that i would never, ever go back to succotash.

the food was decent - but no amount of deliciousness could have made up for that experience.

i went for breakfast mid morning with friends. it was my out first visit. when we first arrived we waited for 5 min by the 'pleasewaitto be seated' sign. about 5 tables were filled and 2 servers running around. finally someone acknowledged us and said we could pick anywhere. we were there 90 min from arrival to the time we finally received our change for our bill. slow all the way around. the food was ok. i had blueberry pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs. the pancakes were good and bigger than the plate. the eggs on the otherhand tasted as though the were cooked in the microwave too long. my friends had the veggie sink and salmon wrap. both said the dishes were good but not great. i would try them again but probably not again if the visit is like this one.

best brunch/breakfast in kc!. i've never been to a place where i wanted to order every single item on the menu...until i went to succotash. i have been back 4 times now and have tried something new every time, though my favorite has been the count of monte delicious. a ham and sharp cheddar sandwich on cranberry walnut french toast...shut up! the banana caramel french toast was another fave. can'twaitto eat my way through the whole menu! the interior is very cute too, reminds me of an anthropologie catalog.

sweet surprise... i was very happy to find this place right across the street from my work. the sandwich prices are slightly higher than what i would normally pay, but succotash also offers more variety than the average deli. i loved the gouda-artichoke sandwich and can'twaitto go back and try the salmon benedict.

if your grama was a gourmet chef this would be like eating at grama's!. first, i tried several times and could not handle thewaitat the old location so this was my first experience and it's at the new restaurant. very homey eclectic diner. the fried potatoes are fried, damnit-and they are fried dark brown like they should be not johnson county beige!! but, this is not just diner food-it is more. a blt with eggs and cheese and arugula and pesto mayo-and not just any pesto mayo, this was more fresh pesto than mayo. seriously one of the best sandwiches i've had in a long time-in fact-now i'm craving another one! i had a chocolate mint brownie also that i took with me and ate later-also outstanding. i can'twaitto go back with my husband and i promise it won't be long. the only draw back is that they are busy and don't rush you so thewaitmay take awhile and thewaitstaff isn't a corporate trained staff so they are a little rough around the edges but they seem to all mean well and care about their clientele-they're nice people dog gone it. i'd say this is sort of like if woodswether cafe was married to happy gillis cafe-succotash would be their child.
