steel tree @ the foreshore

saturday lunch. dissapointed. long wait for lunch even though not many customers. asked for med-well steak but received a tough, overcooked steak i struggled to cut with a steak knife. burnt coffee also.

under cooked no tast. we went for sunday lunch at the steel tree on the fore shore. we were really disappointed as we expected the same good food as the steel tree in settlers.
chips was under cooked and really salty. kids cheese burger a bit burned and had no taste.
next time we go back to settlers steel tree

food - 5/5 ordered french toast and eggs florentine- both were very good
ambience - 4/5
service - 4.5/5

astounding. i think it astounding that someone who clearly works at this place thinks it is appropriate to make a comment ridiculing people who are writing a review. either you are the owner, or you should no longer have a job there! remember the rules of hospitality, or any business for that matter, whilst you may not think the customer is always right, they pay your wages!! by the looks of the reviews you need to either improve your food or your service or both or i wont be back!!

at betsy. firstly that is a very unprofessional response in regards to how we were treated at the clearly 1 star restaurant. maybe when you respond to our feedback you should consider using gramma and spell check? and also get your facts correct as we were not informed of any booking arriving after us and had to be out at 9am. regardless if we were told so, the least we should have been able to do would be finish out cold, dry horrible food. why would you then make a booking for half an hour intervals when knowing there would be eleven people dinning? either way we will not be returning and will be making sure our family and friends do the same. i will also be putting this on my facebook page so as many people as can be will be able to see your thought out response.

disgusting! food was cold, dry and hard. we're told to leave after only 45 mins of arriving as the next booking was due to arrive soon. my niece did not even get to finish her meal. the manager would not even make a contact. worst mothers day breakfast.

firstly rude service, secondly dried out old food and lastly asked to leave after 40mins to make room for another party my niece couldn't even finish her meal, worst experience ever. don't recommend it to anyone

one of the worst coffees i have ever had! very poorly made, under extracted coffee with enough froth for a cappuccino on my flat white. our slice of cake came out 5 odd minutes before my flat shite, then my partners latte came out 3/4 minutes afterwards, at least we got an apology for the wait!

staff were very friendly and helpful, food was average and unfortunatly there were kids running around and dropping cutlery on the floor, not the most romantic dinner with your partner. 4-5/10

great food great service!. came in for dinner as a party of 6 for my friends birthday this week. nick was our waiter, who just excelled throughout the entire evening. food was also cooked to perfection everyone ordered something different and all were highly satisfied. took us ages to decide what to order as every item on the menu sounded wonderful! presentation was also excellent on the plate.compliments to the chef we will be back! coming from a background in 5 star hotels it takes alot to impress me but from the moment i sat down i felt welcomed and relaxed. we even brought a cake which can sometimes not go down well, but was greeted with a smile and the staff even sang happy birthday! just want to say a big thanks to nick his manners and service skills were spot on and really added to the total experience.

went for mothers day breakfast and i must say i am very disappointed the food was horrible i had half burnt pancakes and half raw pancakes the toast was stone cold! after being there for half an hour we recieved the coffees we ordered the largest coffee possible but recieved the small cups as they had ran out of the larger mugs was not told this until we asked were these the largest. common courtesy would have been an apology and explanation without having to be asked. after about another 20 mins a waitress came to the table and told us we would have to leave to make room for the next customers when asked if we could speak to the manager he came over we explained some of us hadnt even finished our meals yet and he just dismissed what we were saying then starting having a laugh about it with one of the guys out the back very unprofessional! when we went to pay the waitress said it was unacceptable that we only had 40 mins to eat our breakfast and leave and said she can offer takeaway coffees as the apology but we would have to pay for them!?! i will never be going back to the steel tree and will tell all my family and friends about the rude unhelpful and disgusting food and service we recieved!

disgusting !!! the food is average at best but what is more horrifying is that when i took my eight year old daughter to dinner here last night we chose to sit on the tables they have set up outside. i would not have made this decision if i had known that they allowed patrons seated in the same area to smoke cigarettes , literally a metre away from my child. we asked to have her food put in a takeaway container and left. i let the manager know and got told no patrons wernt allowed to smoke there, but three different staff members were in the area and failed to say anything. i paid $55 for my daughter and i to have a meal with an over sized side of second hand cigarette ! then i left a comment on their facebook page which they've conveniently deleted !!! horrible

i went for lunch during the week with a friend. we both got the lunch special: meal and a glass of wine for $15.99 we were able to choose any wine from the wine list which i think was great. i got the beef and red wine pie. it comes with chips but i was able to swap the chips for a salad with very minimal hassle. we both had a cappuccino and a slice of the picnic cheesecake for dessert. the service was friendly, the prices were even friendlier, the food came promptly and was yummy and location right on the foreshore was great. i would definitely recommend this. not fancy, but cosy and good for a casual meal.

beautiful view but that is where it ended. service was really slow. we waited 30minutes to order drinks. the staff seemed to be avoiding us. i ended up going up to the drinks counter and asked to be served. we ordered drinks first. i ordered a gin and tonic and a bottle of bubbles. my gin was made with water not tonic and they brought us out a bottle of still wine not bubbles. all good they replaced my gin and tonic and swapped the wine over. yay. now onto the food. we ordered the seafood platter for two for $85. it was horrible and really small. we got 4 oysters which were supposed to be natural but came out as overcooked and as kilpatrick. we got 6 overcooked mussels in a tomato sauce (not chilli at all) 6 small prawns in a bland white sauce (tasted like they were frozen), some rubbery squid and two pieces of fish that tasted like bassa and was mushy and cold chips. for $85 i expected way more. should of went to palm beach cafe instead. really really really average. i’m a local and am never going back.

not sure why there are so many bad reviews , maybe we were just lucky but we will definitely go there again . 4 adults and every meal was great , a mixture of reef & beef , pork belly , lamb & asian beef noodles . all 4 meals were cooked to perfection and tasted great . staff were friendly and the bill was roughly what i expected to pay . my only complaint was the heaters were broken so it was a bit fresh in the outer seating on a cool evening .

ridiculous prices for small average serves.
$19 smashed avo on toast appeared to be a spread and not fresh avocado, but hard to tell with the minuscule amount. $6.50 large coffee is the same size you'll pay $5 for down the road.
very disappointing with so many other options in the area.
service was great but we will never return.
