steel tree @ the foreshore

under cooked no tast. we went for sunday lunch at thesteeltree on the fore shore. we were really disappointed as we expected the same good food as thesteeltree in settlers.
chips was under cooked and really salty. kids cheese burger a bit burned and had no taste.
next time we go back to settlerssteeltree

went for mothers day breakfast and i must say i am very disappointed the food was horrible i had half burnt pancakes and half raw pancakes the toast was stone cold! after being there for half an hour we recieved the coffees we ordered the largest coffee possible but recieved the small cups as they had ran out of the larger mugs was not told this until we asked were these the largest. common courtesy would have been an apology and explanation without having to be asked. after about another 20 mins a waitress came to the table and told us we would have to leave to make room for the next customers when asked if we could speak to the manager he came over we explained some of us hadnt even finished our meals yet and he just dismissed what we were saying then starting having a laugh about it with one of the guys out the back very unprofessional! when we went to pay the waitress said it was unacceptable that we only had 40 mins to eat our breakfast and leave and said she can offer takeaway coffees as the apology but we would have to pay for them!?! i will never be going back to thesteeltree and will tell all my family and friends about the rude unhelpful and disgusting food and service we recieved!

i have been tosteeltree for breakfast, lunch, dinner and just for snacks now. their service has been great every time, and the food is impeccable with great value for money. definitely recommend the big breakfast, or for lunch/dinner the thai beef salad. they do specialty cocktails which change regularly and are all delicious, $12 lunch specials, and everything is available as take away!

favourite on the foreshore. i've gone to thesteeltree more times than i can count on both hands and toes! i've never once had a bad experience and i've been here for all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). breakfast is my favourite if i had to choose! i've never had terrible service here.. the staff are always lovely and accomodating for requests, i'm a little shocked to see so many comments saying how poor service is here. i can't fault anything at thesteeltree. i've never had a bad meal or had to wait for a ridiculous amount of time for food. it's priced well too and is my favourite on the foreshore :)

longest breakfast ever!. there is a fine line between having a leisurely breakfast enjoying the ocean views and the wait we had atsteeltree for breakfast. when we arrived there were only a handful of customers inside the restaurant. we placed a food and drinks order and after 30 mins received our coffes and waited a further. 40 mins to get breakfast. we had a 4 year old with us who we had promised pancakes and the wait for him was ridiculously long. the staff seemed to have no urgency at all. food was average. will not return.

not thesteeltree of old. i hadn't been here in a while, so thought we would try it out a few weeks ago. much to my disappointment, it is just not of the same quality or service that it once was. it was a tuesday, so not a busy night and restuarant half full, so you would expect quick attentive service. wrong. you expect the wait staff to listen when you are taking your order. wrong. as a result they bought out the wrong drinks. ordered oysters kilpatrick for entree. they didn't seem overly fresh. they were slimy and too much sauce and bacon, maybe to cover the lack of freshness. wait staff took a while to clear the table, then we waited at least 30 minutes for our main. i hate to see the wait on a busy night. the mains were ok, but nothing to write home about. overall the we paid the same or more than what we used to, when this place was good, and got much less than we bargained for. i wish i could say i would come again, but am really reluctant to waste my money when there are other more worthy places around perth

awful, stopped her for breakfast the other day. the café next door was still putting their chairs out so we went tosteeltree instead, what a mistake. we sat down, nobody cleared away the dirty plates from the people before, had to ask for the waitress to come take our order. asked for another water glass, that did not appear. waited for 30 minutes, no coffee, no breakfast. meanwhile people had sat down at the café next door which wasn’t open when we had walked past, ordered their breakfasts and were happily eating away. asked where breakfast was, only to be told they didn’t know. breakfast eventually arrived (the people at the café next door had eaten and paid and left the café by this time) still no coffee...or cutlery to eat with. asked for cutlery, waitress went back inside and started to serve someone else. waited 5 minutes with food on the table, still no cutlery, went inside and got our own cutlery. still no coffee. ate half the breakfast and the coffees finally arrived, the additional water glass never did. food was ok, but how do you go wrong with eggs on toast. service was terrible, would never return.

coffee is horrible. i went here for a coffee the other day and it tasted like water. it had no flavour and was quite possibly the worst i have had in rockingham. coffee next door at three wishes is much better. when i complained to the waiter, i was told it wasn't the best quality coffee.

seafood beware... the fish and prawns are from vietnam, so probably not the safest nor healthiest seafood around. for the prices charged, i would expect a bit more quality. just a tip to thesteeltree, maybe get seafood from nz or local. i watched a programme about fish farms on the meekong river and you would never want to eat anything from that place.

on a positive note, the staff there were very nice and efficient. the waitress that served our table (sorry i didn't get your name) she had glasses on, was awesome, the best service i've had. thankyou should've left you a tip.

no service. after receiving no service at a nearby restaurant we thought thesteeltree looked promising. while we were shown to a table and given menu's promptly it seems we were then forgotten about. a table that came in after us received good service and ordered their meals but still we were ignored. eventually we got up and left - won't be going back.

i dont think your menu needs to be quite so extensive! less is best...it also is qiute 'tacky' looks like your trying to hard? have a look at the menu list of your new neighbours, take note :-/

unbelievable!! i thought i may check the reviews, it has been a while since my last visit. somehow one of the chefs seems to think its appropriate to slag off customers for putting forward their views on the experience they had at the st!! my god...its not fb moron? grow up, take it and learn. a fine example of what characters run the place!? good onya st. manager/owner leash your staff. friendly advice

i always ask my workmates. ..why thesteeltree all the time for a get together?! they say, value for money?? im like ok..you were scaring me it was because it was the service or the great food...that once was?? same same st!! but only worse. rant over! no more work get togethers for me :(

had dinner once again at the foreshore, the girls actually had their smiley face on, so well done..maybe you read my last review, but lets hope you took it upon yourselves :-) although their was a mix up with my order, awesome food all the same! the girls do have to tweek a few things though with service? ended up there for breakfast sunday aswell and breakfast was cooked to perfection!! well done to the chef/s. i do feel there is no leader with the service?? having been in hospitality for a number of years this needs attention, particulary busy nights like friday and saturdays. just friendly advice

i have been eating at thesteeltree @ the foreshore for a while now, and although the food has improved by ten-fold in the last 6 months i can not say the same about the service!! everytime i eat there i see a new waitress, walking around like fart-in-a-trance? the girls are very messy in presentation and never smile. on the bright side...finally someone did clean the cob webs that nest in the corners!? its not just the food guys that needs to be awesome, its the service that needs to be awesome too!! maybe consistency with staff and a few lessons in smiling :) wouldn't go astray. booked in for next saturday...watch this space :-/

first time poster on urbanspoon and it sucks that it is a bad review, butsteeltree @ the l foreshore was one of the worst meals i ever had. ordered arancini balls as entree and they came out soggy and oily, thought it couldn't get any worse. then came out the main. fish and chips is not hard to get right yet somehow, they have put me off fish for life.

where are the owners/managers?. i have eaten atsteeltree a few times and when i first went there the service was great.. but the last couple of times has been very disappointing to say the least! today for instance my daughter and i decided to stop in and have a snack. i ordered the devonshire tea with a latte. the fruit scones were old and stale. the cream was watery! my dt arrived and we waited and waited for my daughters order which never came. eventually we had a young girl ask us if there was anything else and i said "yes, my daughters order hasnt arrived" she went away came bac and said"sorry but we cant find her order can i get you something else" i said "no" i went up to pay the bill and even though the order couldnt be found it was on my bill.. i corrected the amount and the youg girl was not even apologetic over the incident! we left and went up the road so my daughter could eat something!

lunch time. went to thesteeltree at rockinham front with my three friends and had the chicken and veg pie and it was really tasty there was not one thing left on the plate .the young girl who served us was very nice and served us with a smile,and what we paid for the meal was good and you get a wine ,beer or cold drink with it for less than $20 great value.i say go and try it we enjoyed it,and we will be back again.

went for dinner atsteeltree tonight, food was impeccable. my partner and i had the tender beef fillet with a béarnaise sauce and creamy garlic prawns. fillet was cooked to perfection, just how we asked (medium-rare.) in reply to previous comment (so not wankers ) salad was very good and the beer battered chips really hit the spot with the perfect amount of seasoning. garlic prawns were nothing short of what you would expect from a high end seafood restaurant. constantly checked by staff to make sure every thing was up to standard. drink was nice and strong and coffee was good enough to buy a second round overall a great meal. on ya'steeltree!! xx

have been tosteeltree at the foreshore twice now and both times i have been disappointed. the first time i went with a friend and it was a quiet night with only 2 other groups there. i ordered the duck breast with risotto, when i ordered the server very rudely pointed out that it was served pink to which i replied that i wanted it served that way. when i got it, it was a shriveled, overcooked under seasoned tough piece of duck, the risotto was nicely cooked but it was served with 2 roasted cherry tomatoes and some greasy cold, deep fried sweet potatoes. for dessert i ordered a chocolate "fondant" cake with custard and ice cream, what i got was a dry piece of microwaved cake and vanilla ice cream. the cake was definitely not worth the $12 it was terrible!
the second time i went with a group and had the reef on reef and substituted the chips for sweet potato mash. the mash was watery with no seasoning, the fish was cooked nicely as were the prawns but the sauce had no taste what-so-ever.
definitely will not go back here until the food is improved and menu prices looked at.
