rude staff and not so good food. seven of us went to this restaurant today, for a farewell lunch for a work colleague. extremely rude wait staff. we explained that one person had to go early so could we have their order as soon as possible. she only ordered soup of the day and after 30 minutes had still not received it - so had to leave without any lunch.
when the remainder of the orders came out 40 minutes after ordered - one was wrong and the waitress just stood there and said, no, that is what was ordered. she came over to me and rudely said, well, if that is not what you ordered , what was it that you think you ordered!! it was not what i ordered as i never order a salad at a restaurant. they went back to get the correct dish and when it was bought to the table there was no apology, it was just put down in front of me. none of our meals were very nice, the fish and the squid were both really greasy. we won't be going back and will be telling our fiends not to bother either

not the steel tree of old. i hadn't been here in a while, so thought we would try it out a few weeks ago. much to my disappointment, it is just not of the same quality or service that it once was. it was a tuesday, so not a busy night and restuarant half full, so you would expect quick attentive service. wrong. you expect the wait staff to listen when you are taking your order. wrong. as a result they bought out the wrong drinks. ordered oysters kilpatrick for entree. they didn't seem overly fresh. they were slimy and too much sauce and bacon, maybe to cover the lack of freshness. wait staff took a while to clear the table, then we waited at least 30 minutes for our main. i hate to see the wait on a busy night. the mains were ok, but nothing to write home about. overall the we paid the same or more than what we used to, when this place was good, and got much less than we bargained for. i wish i could say i would come again, but am really reluctant to waste my money when there are other more worthy places around perth

bad, really bad, seriously terrible.. food came out in about 30 minutes,long wait for simple blt, chips and 3 cheese pizza.

baguette (woolies bake at home) was not baked and come out see through and soggy.

aioli was garlic flavoured flour and water.

three cheeze pizza was a woolies frozen pizza base caked in something resembling a tomato paste and the cheapest oiliest chedder cheese possible.

everything was dirty, one of the napkins was obviously rescued from a previous customer and reused.

chips had a funky taste.

the young waiter was nice.

as a candidate for ramseys kitchen nightmares 10/10.

as a place to actually spend your hard earned money -1/10

lunch here is very nice and good value with the included glass of wine but after bringing the family for dinner we were disappointed. my daughter had the chicken risotto, it was gluggy and bland, tasted like it was cooked in water. my husbands sirloin steak was also flavourless, again had a watery taste which makes me think they were frozen beforehand. we complained during the meal and when we left to pay but there was no offer to take any money off the bill. very expensive for the quality of food, close to $300! service was just ok, took 20 minutes to clear our plates away as our waitress was busy chatting up another waiter, plus we could see the chef in the kitchen constantly checking his mobile phone! we won't be back here again.

had lunch here today- chose the $15.99 lunch special of battered fish and chips with a glass of wine.
had a nice waiter who was friendly and attentive.
lovely meal, could not fault it. will be back again ;)

advertised as vegan friendly yet we were turned away as they couldn't offer us anything vegan! the girl serving us didn't seem to want to offer a salad roll was all too hard and certainly nothing vegan on their menu! they need change their misleading listing here, grrrr.

awful, stopped her for breakfast the other day. the café next door was still putting their chairs out so we went to steel tree instead, what a mistake. we sat down, nobody cleared away the dirty plates from the people before, had to ask for the waitress to come take our order. asked for another water glass, that did not appear. waited for 30 minutes, no coffee, no breakfast. meanwhile people had sat down at the café next door which wasn’t open when we had walked past, ordered their breakfasts and were happily eating away. asked where breakfast was, only to be told they didn’t know. breakfast eventually arrived (the people at the café next door had eaten and paid and left the café by this time) still no coffee...or cutlery to eat with. asked for cutlery, waitress went back inside and started to serve someone else. waited 5 minutes with food on the table, still no cutlery, went inside and got our own cutlery. still no coffee. ate half the breakfast and the coffees finally arrived, the additional water glass never did. food was ok, but how do you go wrong with eggs on toast. service was terrible, would never return.

coffee is horrible. i went here for a coffee the other day and it tasted like water. it had no flavour and was quite possibly the worst i have had in rockingham. coffee next door at three wishes is much better. when i complained to the waiter, i was told it wasn't the best quality coffee.

seafood beware... the fish and prawns are from vietnam, so probably not the safest nor healthiest seafood around. for the prices charged, i would expect a bit more quality. just a tip to the steel tree, maybe get seafood from nz or local. i watched a programme about fish farms on the meekong river and you would never want to eat anything from that place.

on a positive note, the staff there were very nice and efficient. the waitress that served our table (sorry i didn't get your name) she had glasses on, was awesome, the best service i've had. thankyou should've left you a tip.

poor food. a coffee and one main each for lunch for two was $70+ for carbonara and a salard. the coffee was brought out before my meal when i said after and the food was poor quality. pasta not cooked properly. oysters killpatrick on another occasion was horrible undercook and loaded with what tasted like bolegnase sauce??? the galic bread is soggy warm bread with cuts smeared butter and a tiny bit of garlic. never going again has been poor all 3 times.

no service. after receiving no service at a nearby restaurant we thought the steel tree looked promising. while we were shown to a table and given menu's promptly it seems we were then forgotten about. a table that came in after us received good service and ordered their meals but still we were ignored. eventually we got up and left - won't be going back.

great spot, great food. i love coming here during the week. the staff are awesome and the food is so good! i always struggle to get through it because the portions are huge.

i dont think your menu needs to be quite so extensive! less is best...it also is qiute 'tacky' looks like your trying to hard? have a look at the menu list of your new neighbours, take note :-/

unbelievable!! i thought i may check the reviews, it has been a while since my last visit. somehow one of the chefs seems to think its appropriate to slag off customers for putting forward their views on the experience they had at the st!! my god...its not fb moron? grow up, take it and learn. a fine example of what characters run the place!? good onya st. manager/owner leash your staff. friendly advice

i always ask my workmates. ..why the steel tree all the time for a get together?! they say, value for money?? im like ok..you were scaring me it was because it was the service or the great food...that once was?? same same st!! but only worse. rant over! no more work get togethers for me :(

had dinner once again at the foreshore, the girls actually had their smiley face on, so well done..maybe you read my last review, but lets hope you took it upon yourselves :-) although their was a mix up with my order, awesome food all the same! the girls do have to tweek a few things though with service? ended up there for breakfast sunday aswell and breakfast was cooked to perfection!! well done to the chef/s. i do feel there is no leader with the service?? having been in hospitality for a number of years this needs attention, particulary busy nights like friday and saturdays. just friendly advice

i have been eating at the steel tree @ the foreshore for a while now, and although the food has improved by ten-fold in the last 6 months i can not say the same about the service!! everytime i eat there i see a new waitress, walking around like fart-in-a-trance? the girls are very messy in presentation and never smile. on the bright side...finally someone did clean the cob webs that nest in the corners!? its not just the food guys that needs to be awesome, its the service that needs to be awesome too!! maybe consistency with staff and a few lessons in smiling :) wouldn't go astray. booked in for next saturday...watch this space :-/

have eaten here quite a few times and although i don't mind the food in general, the service can be hit and miss. especially in the mornings, twice last week we sat and ordered coffee and over 30mins later did not arrive. needless to say we went elsewhere for breakfast.

service very slow. went for breakfast, were waiting quite some time for order to be taken, food arrived, meals were finished before drinks arrived without so much as a "sorry about the wait".

best arancini balls i've ever had and best steak in perth, excellent chef, he knows his flavors and it shows through all the sauces

first time poster on urbanspoon and it sucks that it is a bad review, but steel tree @ the l foreshore was one of the worst meals i ever had. ordered arancini balls as entree and they came out soggy and oily, thought it couldn't get any worse. then came out the main. fish and chips is not hard to get right yet somehow, they have put me off fish for life.
