inconsistent let down. called and ordered takeout. c***** had a bad attitude. sighed heavily when i asked about salad dressing choices. didn't know the menu. 2 sides were missing. 1/2 the snow crab was okay, the other half was overcooked, too salty and spicy and reheated (?). backyard chicken was bland. one grilled corn looked 2 days old; one was fresh. salad consisted of pale, mealy tomatoes, large pieces of iceberg lettuce, some limp and brown, and stale croutons. blue cheese dressing was good. best item was chicken fingers and honey mustard (at a seafood restaurant). c***** did not smile, placed my bag of food in a little cubby area, took my payment, and $5 tip, and said "there's your food." as she pointed towards it with her chin. no "thank you". no smile. won't be back. try hana yori!!!

love the margaritas!. their food is awesome! and i love their salty margarita's! great prices too!

poor service but great food and atmosphere. seems to be the best reasonably priced restaurant jacksonville beach has to offer. the food was excellent. the shrimp cerviche nachos are awesome as an appetizer. the ambiance is light and surfer cool. the service left a little to be desired (our appetizer, sushi, and entrees all came out at the same time) but i would still recommend a visit.

not all that good. this place has a lot of sizzle- good looking wait staff- nice decor but showing signs of wear- men's bath room needs some work- the food is below average in the food department- it's mostly a seafood place but there are so many better places at the beach for seafood - it's mostly a place to be seen and spend some money but status doesn't do anything for your taste buds- i do not recommend this place as there is so many other places at the beach to go -

huge disapointment. salt life.. you would think would be fresh seafood? no! didn't have a lot to choose from. i asked about fish and chips and it was the basa fish from vietnam! (don't know what conditions those fish are raised in..look it up. disgusting. friends had the boil..it looked good. i would not recommend it nor go back again if it was my decision.

...once i put the sandwich together i had a bit of crab in every bite. it was very tasty- nothing was too overpowering to ruin the whole sandwich. it really was a perfect balance.

terrible food, the soft shell blt looked good on the menu, but when we got it, the tails were fried along with it, also the crab tasted fishy and disgusting.

great food. i eat at salt life whenever i get up that way and i'm never disappointed, i love the poke bowl, and the sushi is great, the people are friendly and the service is great also, thanks salt life for the great food and service.

we are from georgia our family just returned from eating at salt life the food what all. but our main complaint was the dishonest server we left our 150 dollar sunglasses with a 25 dollar tip for them to tell us they have seen no sunlight. the greeter told us nobody has sat at the table since we have left. so come to your own conclusions very very very disappointed will never return

horrible service....bartenders should not have cell phones on hand!. originally, on other previous visits, i would give salt life 4 stars.... unfortunately, tonight was very rare and i've never had quite an experience like this till now.

my husband and i came here to watch game 2 of the world series. as being a previous bartender, now business owner in jacksonville, i take notice to other peoples service. i kept my mouth shut all night about one of the bartenders, who was more interested in a football game most of our duration than tending to his customers or service bar. although, there was one and only one person he paid attention to, by the name of mom....uuuummmm, huh? i continued to watch him eat off this customers plate scratch himself and never wash his hands in the meantime! being the work-a-holic that i am i wanted to concentrate on his lack of work ethic, but my husband insisted i enjoy the game. nonetheless, i said nothing and continued to watch the game.

it's around the 7th inning when a political commercial comes on and "mom" wants to voice her opinions on mine and my husbands conversation about politics. side note: politics don't belong at the bar!

the very inattentive bartender then wants to interject his opinions as well, which my response to him was, "shouldn't you be working or something?" of course i was not surprise that someone didn't like being called out on their shortcomings and i was told to leave.

i haven't had other experiences like this at salt life, but this definitely ruined my night out from the stressors of running a business and from a professional, business standpoint, i'm very glad i don't have a person like this working on my staff!

i don't see my self ever going here again, nor will i continue to recommend it.

service was great, food was bad. my husband and i were hanging out at the beach and wanted to get a salad somewhere. after reading the menu online, we decided to try salt life food shack. he had the baja chicken salad, which sounded awesome, but lacked flavor. i had the asian salmon salad. flavorful, but super oily. our greens were wilted when it was served to us as well. this is coming from two people who are not hard to impress when it comes to food, so for us to really dislike their food is quite a feat. we wouldn't go back.

the meal was nicely portioned and was a good meal, but it fell short of being a great meal and here’s why...

best fish sandwich ever! music is too loud for lunch but service was excellent. shrimp roll looks fabulous too.

worst fried fish/shrimp i've ever had. it tastes like fried eggs. it's literally disgusting!

there was a squalling baby when we ate here, so that rings true with mjm's review. perhaps it was the loud music distorting beyond the capabilities of the music/loudspeaker sustem which made the baby scream -- i know it made me want to scream. now to the food.

my friemd invited me here for the salads. i could not bring myself to pay $15 for unknown origin tuna or salmon, so ordered a turkey burger ($8). a large burger only - sides are extra. burger was moist (almost runny) but looke cooked. tasty, but i like any burger well done.

companions ordered black bean hummus & shrimp
salad. hummus almost tasteless and like a prell commercial "thin watery watery watery."

the shrimp were inedible. both companions left almost all their shrimp on the plate. they were tasteless but had a bad odor.

we complained after the bill had been settled, because we wanted nothing. before we left restaurant, our server came back and reported that chef had thrown out shrimp and credited the item.

iur server was the best thing about the restaurant!
