first impression - pretty awesome!. i went to saltlifefood shack for the first time last night. judging from my first impression i will definitely be going back. the overall vibe was very cool, laid back and definitely beachy. i had the backyard beer can chicken - half a chicken with an awesome glaze served with a whole corn. it seemed "different" so i figured i would give it a try. the presentation was clean and the flavors really complimented each other. i really liked the corn served with the husk! for my drink i went with the $2 coronas they have on mondays. the rest of the menu looked pretty good. the prices ranged anywhere from around 6 bucks [hamburgers and such] to around 15$ [high end fish]. service was good, total bill even better! i look forward to going there again.

the saltlifewith my friend for lunch yesterday and had a good experience. i usually get the hawaiian shrimp bowl, which i highly recommend, but decided to try their sushi this time. i got the tuna roll, which was fresh tuna with avocado and rice. very good! it's fried, but not heavy at all. my friend got the tuna salad but substituted raw ahu tuna instead of seared. it was beautiful!

food was fair at best. visited jax beach with a sparse restaurant choice and parked close to saltliferonan the mushroom place, so tried salt life. sat at the bar and listened to the bar tenders complain about having to wear jeans skirts the ordered the chokie bowl and it was poor at best. as an owner of multiple beachside restaurants /bars in fl a major bad review from me here.

sharon. we ate at the saltlifefood shack friday evening, we found everyone very friendly . esp dominique our server!! she acted like we were her family! the service was outstanding... the best in years! the food was great! our whole family ordered different meals that were exceptional

great service & food. had lunch at saltlifejax beach while on vacation.. our server we had was jenn. m... she was very attentive to us.. great attitude & great service... always a smile... mahi taco was great & the sushi was also great.. love the corn too..... we will be back for sure.... thanks jenn..

saltlifefood shack is the place to be, especially when your servers name is jenn b! great atmosphere and the food and drinks are always good!

saltlifefood shack jacksonville beach florida. i am a golf professional in jacksonville/ponte vedra beach for 25 years. i have a background in cca restaurant management. i enjoy great food and great service on my short time off. i take all of my customers to saltlifefood shack for lunch. i've enjoyed the blackened wings since harry's. also, i recommend the poke bowl. before you and yours sit down, make sure casey, "the bartender," is working! he makes the best margarita i have tasted. you must sit at bar to experience his excellent customer skills. he knows the menu and can' recommend the perfect item on menu for even the plantation at ponte vedra members or jax beach municiple golfers. i could go on and on, but, i have to go teach children how to play golf. bucklowrygolf@yahoo.com

for starters i have saltlifestickers on the front and back of my car because it defines my lifestyle so it should go without saying that i love this restaurant. the soft shell crab and bacon sandwich is a fav fav. i usually tell then to double up the crab cause living saltlifelifestyle you can go big or go home. there sushi rolls are also grate! watch out for the one with fresh jalapeño pickles on the top of it because it will burn going in and out. lol! always great times here.

great food!. we love saltlifeand the soft shell crab and avocado fries are my favorite! we enjoy eating out on the patio. it is a friendly, fun place to eata with friends!

salty life. my boyfriend and i went to saltlifefor dinner last night, and while the place is beautiful (fish tank!), we were disappointed in the service and quality of the food. our server was friendly, but she seemed a little inexperienced because she never refilled our water glasses. i ordered the boca-style fish sandwich and my boyfriend ordered 12 oysters and the shrimp & chorizo nachos. i liked the sandwich, although the french fries were very salty, and so were his oysters. he also didn't like the nachos because the chorizo didn't quite taste like chorizo. our salty margaritas ($2 on thursdays!) were mediocre, very diluted, and not very refreshing when coupled with salty food. we were happy that they were only $2, but we weren't very impressed.

great food. i eat at saltlifewhenever i get up that way and i'm never disappointed, i love the poke bowl, and the sushi is great, the people are friendly and the service is great also, thanks saltlifefor the great food and service.

we are from georgia our family just returned from eating at saltlifethe food what all. but our main complaint was the dishonest server we left our 150 dollar sunglasses with a 25 dollar tip for them to tell us they have seen no sunlight. the greeter told us nobody has sat at the table since we have left. so come to your own conclusions very very very disappointed will never return

horrible service....bartenders should not have cell phones on hand!. originally, on other previous visits, i would give saltlife4 stars.... unfortunately, tonight was very rare and i've never had quite an experience like this till now.

my husband and i came here to watch game 2 of the world series. as being a previous bartender, now business owner in jacksonville, i take notice to other peoples service. i kept my mouth shut all night about one of the bartenders, who was more interested in a football game most of our duration than tending to his customers or service bar. although, there was one and only one person he paid attention to, by the name of mom....uuuummmm, huh? i continued to watch him eat off this customers plate scratch himself and never wash his hands in the meantime! being the work-a-holic that i am i wanted to concentrate on his lack of work ethic, but my husband insisted i enjoy the game. nonetheless, i said nothing and continued to watch the game.

it's around the 7th inning when a political commercial comes on and "mom" wants to voice her opinions on mine and my husbands conversation about politics. side note: politics don't belong at the bar!

the very inattentive bartender then wants to interject his opinions as well, which my response to him was, "shouldn't you be working or something?" of course i was not surprise that someone didn't like being called out on their shortcomings and i was told to leave.

i haven't had other experiences like this at salt life, but this definitely ruined my night out from the stressors of running a business and from a professional, business standpoint, i'm very glad i don't have a person like this working on my staff!

i don't see my self ever going here again, nor will i continue to recommend it.
