first impression - pretty awesome!. i went to salt life food shack for the first time last night. judging from my first impression i will definitely be going back. the overall vibe was very cool, laid back and definitely beachy. i had the backyard beer can chicken - half a chicken with an awesome glaze served with a whole corn. it seemed "different" so i figured i would give it a try. the presentation was clean and the flavors really complimented each other. i really liked the corn served with the husk! for my drink i went with the $2 coronas they have on mondays. the rest of the menu looked pretty good. the prices ranged anywhere from around 6 bucks [hamburgers and such] to around 15$ [high end fish].servicewas good, total bill even better! i look forward to going there again.

sat at the bar for lunch.servicewas great - friendly and quick. grouper sandwich was out of this world. shrimp pasta was delicious. beverages were cold and delicious. definitely will come back.

questionable reviews. there are many reviews where a patron has only 1 review but claims this is a great restaurant- questionable at best.

lame food. did not have theserviceproblem that others had but i can see that it is probably an issue due to the age of the staff. the teenagers in this area are not known for their hard work. the food was pretty much tasteless. the selection was not very impressive. probably a better drinking establishment. reminds me of mellow mushroom down the street, targetting the 20 and early 30 year olds for a party atmosphere so food quality is not important.

sharon. we ate at the salt life food shack friday evening, we found everyone very friendly . esp dominique our server!! she acted like we were her family! theservicewas outstanding... the best in years! the food was great! our whole family ordered different meals that were exceptional

the environment here is awesome! i was surprised at how big the lunch crowd was on a friday. from the moment we walked in the door theservicewas great! our server, tobie, was awesome! she recommended great bar drinks that went perfectly with our mahi sandwiches. this was my first time here, but i will definitely be back!

greatservice& food. had lunch at salt life jax beach while on vacation.. our server we had was jenn. m... she was very attentive to us.. great attitude & great service... always a smile... mahi taco was great & the sushi was also great.. love the corn too..... we will be back for sure.... thanks jenn..

salt life food shack jacksonville beach florida. i am a golf professional in jacksonville/ponte vedra beach for 25 years. i have a background in cca restaurant management. i enjoy great food and greatserviceon my short time off. i take all of my customers to salt life food shack for lunch. i've enjoyed the blackened wings since harry's. also, i recommend the poke bowl. before you and yours sit down, make sure casey, "the bartender," is working! he makes the best margarita i have tasted. you must sit at bar to experience his excellent customer skills. he knows the menu and can' recommend the perfect item on menu for even the plantation at ponte vedra members or jax beach municiple golfers. i could go on and on, but, i have to go teach children how to play golf. bucklowrygolf@yahoo.com

great place, everything from the variety of foods on the menu, presentation, and taste was amazing.servicewas great. the decor was amazing as well. we had another couple from mobile alabama with us and they said they would make the drive again just to eat there. i will return.

good food, great service. went here on recommendation from hotel clerk. good advise! i got fried shrimp which was very good. my wife got the crab leg boil. she was very happy with it. theservicewas fantastic. no complaints, not even when the bill came.

you can only sheer a sheep once. these people think very highly of themselves. it was extremely overpriced.servicesucked. in fact we couldn't even find her 20 minutes at a time. i asked about specials and the response i got was that the managers discontinued them. who doesn't offer specials? it was $120 for 2 dozen oysters 2 sushi rolls 3 beers and 2 mixed drinks. there were six locals in our group and we all decided we never go back. the place looks pretty cool but food is ok at best. my friend ordered shots for the table. he was so astounded by the price that he made the server split them up to everyone. never have i been out and had a friend order me a shot to make me then pay!!!! so disappointed. oh and there is nowhere to park either. the girls who work there are nice but they have zero clue about teserviceindustry. i'll make sure to give my business to mellow

salty life. my boyfriend and i went to salt life for dinner last night, and while the place is beautiful (fish tank!), we were disappointed in theserviceand quality of the food. our server was friendly, but she seemed a little inexperienced because she never refilled our water glasses. i ordered the boca-style fish sandwich and my boyfriend ordered 12 oysters and the shrimp & chorizo nachos. i liked the sandwich, although the french fries were very salty, and so were his oysters. he also didn't like the nachos because the chorizo didn't quite taste like chorizo. our salty margaritas ($2 on thursdays!) were mediocre, very diluted, and not very refreshing when coupled with salty food. we were happy that they were only $2, but we weren't very impressed.

poorservicebut great food and atmosphere. seems to be the best reasonably priced restaurant jacksonville beach has to offer. the food was excellent. the shrimp cerviche nachos are awesome as an appetizer. the ambiance is light and surfer cool. theserviceleft a little to be desired (our appetizer, sushi, and entrees all came out at the same time) but i would still recommend a visit.

great food. i eat at salt life whenever i get up that way and i'm never disappointed, i love the poke bowl, and the sushi is great, the people are friendly and theserviceis great also, thanks salt life for the great food and service.
