salt life food shack

the salt life with my friend for lunch yesterday and had agoodexperience. i usually get the hawaiian shrimp bowl, which i highly recommend, but decided to try their sushi this time. i got the tuna roll, which was fresh tuna with avocado and rice. very good! it's fried, but not heavy at all. my friend got the tuna salad but substituted raw ahu tuna instead of seared. it was beautiful!

a yuppy place. this place has no idea what "salt life" is all about. only 1 waitress may have a clue. i ordered the nachos with shrimp and chorizo. there were maybe 4 shrimp on the nachos and the chorizo was in such small pieces you couldn't get a taste for it. the onlygoodthing i can say is the beer was cold.

reallygoodfood....reallygoodservice. we ate here for the first time on our second visit to jacksonville. we did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table, but it was because we wanted a regular table not a high top. they were very busy but our server scott was awesome! he was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. food came out fast and was very hot and very yummy. the food was fresh fresh fresh. we will definitely be eating here again.

anyone who don't like this place obviously ain't local and don't knowgoodfood. this place is boss and the food isn't cheap but it is serious grind and the chicks that work there are all tens and it is agoodplace to catch a buzz and meet hot beach chicks. lots of
fine ass tattooed babes in the bar area if you go in the evenings. scored here multiple times.

good food, great service. went here on recommendation from hotel clerk.goodadvise! i got fried shrimp which was very good. my wife got the crab leg boil. she was very happy with it. the service was fantastic. no complaints, not even when the bill came.

the best at the beach!. absolutely love the food here! the nachos are to die for! pricing isgoodfor the portions, butgoodluck finding parking at anytime ever. i literally drove around the beach for 20 minutes one time just to eat there. i parked almost 4 blocks away!

nice decor, food no bueno. fish sandwich came with shredded iceberg lettuce, non ripe tomato, on a (think burger king) sesame bun. this unappealing meal can't even be saved by delicious fries.......it doesn't come with a side!! calamari was so so and hawaiian wings were over smothered in sauce and teeny tiny. my sons shrimp was not local, but bland. my suggestion: try beachside seafood or singleton's restaurant. this is agoodtourist trap. fool me once.

ate with the family last week. as always the food was great and agoodtime was had by all. the grilled garlic parm oyster appetizer is truly the best. also, love the hawaian shrimp bowl so much i doubt i'll ever stray from it to try other entrees.

the grilled parm oysters were incredible. the shrimp dish i had was veryverygoodtoo with lots of medium to large shrimp. excellent meal

import shrimp. love the atmosphere, service? meh. and my biggest prob with this place is import shrimp are not in my salt life. support our local salt lifers, which are the hard workers bringing fresh mayport shrimp.

bartender decided to keep the change. owent to get 2 entrees to go and decided to sit at the bar since only 3 others were sitting there. bartender greeted me and took my order, then asked if i wanted to have a drink. i said water will be good. the food came out and he checked the order so there would be no problem. all wasgoodi paid the $27.88 bill with a 20 and a 10. bartender took the $$ and went to the far side of the bar with his back to me. so i ask across the bar, "is everything ok" the bartender yells "yep!" without turning around. he then whispers something to the second bartender and the second bartender perks up and looks over at me like "yeah he is still there". i walk out. my point is doesn't the customer decide the tip? is it right for the bartender to take my change?

good food andgoodatmosphere. the beach boil is really good. you get shrimp, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, onions, and corn on the cob.

not all that good. this place has a lot of sizzle-goodlooking wait staff- nice decor but showing signs of wear- men's bath room needs some work- the food is below average in the food department- it's mostly a seafood place but there are so many better places at the beach for seafood - it's mostly a place to be seen and spend some money but status doesn't do anything for your taste buds- i do not recommend this place as there is so many other places at the beach to go -

terrible food, the soft shell blt lookedgoodon the menu, but when we got it, the tails were fried along with it, also the crab tasted fishy and disgusting.

the meal was nicely portioned and was agoodmeal, but it fell short of being a great meal and here’s why...

beach atmosphere,goodfood, pretty loud, great food! we love the tuna bowl, seafood boil and fried fish.
