absolutely outstanding sushi. by far the best tasting and most creative sushi menu i have come to find in buffalo.

will never go to seabar or kuni's again after dining at sakura.

seriously?!. i sat at the bar for a quick bite. i was ignored by the bartender until i finally asked if i could have a menu. she begrudgingly tossed one at me then went back to talking to her friends. i asked her how the saki was there... she replied "hot or cold" good to see that the staff is trained. at that point i should have left, but i had heard good things so i opted to stay. i decided to order a bowl of udon, being that i really like udon noodles. before i describe them let me mention i was given nothing to eat my food with, a person down the bar from me tossed me a roll of utensils and a napkin. all this took place in front of the manager who was sitting at the bar drinking. the noodles themselves were what i'd expect, the rest... pretty bad. the broth had no flavor other than bell peppers which was about the only thing in there other than my noodles. there were a couple slices of uncooked mushrooms tossed in there. by far some of the worst udon i have ever had. the sushi i got was forgettable and possibly not so fresh. bad food and terribleservicehas assured i will not be returning here. i will stick with other smaller sushi places in the area.

hubby and i had lunch here a few days ago (on a week day). servicewas slow because there just wasn't enough employees for the number of customers in there. the gyoza soup was good but had no vegetables in it (my favorite japanese place puts vegetables in theirs and it's so much better). my green tea was not hot enough to brew properly, but the teapot was pretty lol! hubby had the teriyaki chicken lunch and i tasted the chicken - it was delicious! his meal was good overall from what he said.

sakura has been a staple for me and many others in hattiesburg for years. they have always been consistent and never let me down. you can certainly get cheaper sushi around here, but you get what you pay for. the miso soup is great, the miso salad dressing is wonderful. both are consistent in my experience.

i only ever get sushi and occasionally steamed gyoza. sakura is honestly some of the best sushi i have ever had excluding maybe one or two places around the country, but it is still close. i'm no sushi connoisseur, but i do know that sakura is the place to go for sushi in hattiesburg.

theserviceis great. tommy was a wonderful waiter back in the day, and now we have danny. he is a young vietnamese guy who came here speaking no english. he supports his family with this waiting job and he is a damn good server, so take good care of him!

first time here. it was my first time at this spot and it was pretty good. i had the sushi lunch that consisted of salmon, red tuna, white tuna, octopus, crab, and shrimp rolls. i ordered the cajun roll as well.servicewas ok due to a miscommunication of what i asked for and what was really ordered. i would come back

everything at sakura sushi was incredible. the spicy kani tempura, the goyza (not vegetarian or pescetarian), the cheektowaga roll, philadelphia roll, yellow tuna roll, coppa mascarpone, and dream bomba was all absolutely amazing and out of this world. this local restaurant week experience is exactly what i love about this event: i found an incredible place, tried some amazing food i wouldn’t normally order, and enjoyed every little thing about it! the ambiance is perfect, theservicewas amazing, the food was fantastic, and i found 8 vegetarian rolls to come back and try.

i've been here twice. once for sushi and the second time for hibachi. theservicewas mediocre and the food isn't that good and over priced. if you're looking for sushi sori sushi down the street is better. i'd only come here for the novelty, but not if i was looking for a great meal.

bad food, bad service. i went there on saturday night, the food was terrible and theserviceis so bad.
first we had to eat for one hour to get seated, and we had to wait for one more hour to get our food that we ordered.
we ordered sushi, as they had half-off sushi that night, so we ordered four rolls of sushi and once we got them we were unpleasantly surprised with the food. we ordered cooked sushi and we told the waitress to make sure to get us well cooked sushi (as my wife is pregnant), but when we got the food the sushi was gross raw sushi and has no taste what-so-ever. so i thought it could be a mistake because they were very busy, and i decided to order more sushi and told the waitress to make sure to get us cooked sushi this time. she came back with another order of raw sushi, we told her it's not cooked and she said we don't know what cooked sushi like (so rude). she didn't even bother to say sorry we can replace the order with something else. i ate sushi a lot in many other restaurants in toledo and know how cooked sushi is. so we decided to pay and leave without eating our food, so we don't screw the night with this bad restaurant.
i e-mailed the restaurant staff through their website trying to explain to them hoe bad was the experience and they didn't even bother to reply to us. they don't even know how important customer feed back is.
i would never ever go back again, and i wouldn't advice anybody to go there especially on weekend (unless you want to wait for 2 or more hours and get the wrong order twice)

sushi is never fresh and theserviceis consistently dreadful. the owner, easily learned his name was david, through a temper tantrum and shut down the resteraunt on my last time i went. more likely to buy better drugs than sushi at this establishment.

not my favorite sushi place in hattiesburg. i went there for lunch on a weekday and theservicewas pretty slow because of the lunch rush. seems like they need to hire more help. i got a sushi and gyoza lunch box which comes with orange slices, a few veggies, a bowl of white rice and a choice of salad or miso soup. the california roll was just ok, they must have been low on crab because they doubled up on the avacado and there was hardly any crabmeat. gyoza dumplings were great though. overall this place is ok, i don't really get what all the hype is about, ambiance is lacking. lighting is way too dark! i have given it 2 or 3 tries and am just not impressed. i still prefer sake cafe for lunch box or little tokyo for sushi dinner.
