best sushi in buffalo. this is by far the most amazing sushi in buffalo. very extensive selection of speciality rolls, all of which are very unique and taste amazing. service is wonderful and everyone here is very friendly and welcoming. can't say enough good things about this place.

absolutely outstanding sushi. by far the best tasting and most creative sushi menu i have come to find in buffalo.

will never go to seabar or kuni's again after dining at sakura.

seriously?!. i sat at the bar for a quick bite. i was ignored by the bartender until i finally asked if i could have a menu. she begrudgingly tossed one at me then went back to talking to her friends. i asked her how the saki was there... she replied "hot or cold" good to see that the staff is trained. at that point i should have left, but i had heard good things so i opted to stay. i decided to order a bowl of udon, being that i really like udon noodles. before i describe them let me mention i was given nothing to eat my food with, a person down the bar from me tossed me a roll of utensils and a napkin. all this took place in front of the manager who was sitting at the bar drinking. the noodles themselves were what i'd expect, the rest... pretty bad. the broth had no flavor other than bell peppers which was about the only thing in there other than my noodles. there were a couple slices of uncooked mushrooms tossed in there. by far some of the worst udon i have ever had. the sushi i got was forgettable and possibly not so fresh. bad food and terrible service has assured i will not be returning here. i will stick with other smaller sushi places in the area.

best restaurant in buffalo. friends and i are addicted and have gone weekly for over a year now. lunch special with the joey (deep fried spicy tuna with lobster and avocado) appetizer and one of they're killer fusion rolls is a great deal. nothing compares.

sakura is a great family restaurant! the food and service is exceptional. i definitely recommend it to my family and friends. great happy hour too!

good but they are talkitive.. sushi men in sakura are very talkitive. i dont know what language they are speaking, i am think japanese, they are talking and laughing. sensitive people like me i feel very offended.

food is amazing, servers are doing best. yet, sushi men. they have to learn how to speak quietly or not to talk at all.

fabulous quality sushi with high quality ingredients. i love buying wegmans sushi for its convenience but when i come here it is a bit of a reality check. fantastic. one of my favorite places to eat.

hubby and i had lunch here a few days ago (on a week day). service was slow because there just wasn't enough employees for the number of customers in there. the gyoza soup was good but had no vegetables in it (my favorite japanese place puts vegetables in theirs and it's so much better). my green tea was not hot enough to brew properly, but the teapot was pretty lol! hubby had the teriyaki chicken lunch and i tasted the chicken - it was delicious! his meal was good overall from what he said.

sakura has been a staple for me and many others in hattiesburg for years. they have always been consistent and never let me down. you can certainly get cheaper sushi around here, but you get what you pay for. the miso soup is great, the miso salad dressing is wonderful. both are consistent in my experience.

i only ever get sushi and occasionally steamed gyoza. sakura is honestly some of the best sushi i have ever had excluding maybe one or two places around the country, but it is still close. i'm no sushi connoisseur, but i do know that sakura is the place to go for sushi in hattiesburg.

the service is great. tommy was a wonderful waiter back in the day, and now we have danny. he is a young vietnamese guy who came here speaking no english. he supports his family with this waiting job and he is a damn good server, so take good care of him!

the food here was pretty good --- was it remarkable? no, but i didn't hate anything i had. the apple sake was amazing though, and i recommend that to anyone who goes. the hibachi chef we had was pretty fun, and we enjoyed that portion of the meal, but our waitress was a bit lacking. she kept forgetting things people at our table asked for, and we kept having to repeat requests. to be fair, we were there on a friday when it was half priced sushi, so it could just be that the place was busy. we also had a pretty long wait for a table, but again, they were understandably busy.

what was a bit irritating was that they sat two groups of four at our table, but instead of putting four of us on one half and four on the other, they put two from one group on either end of the hibachi and the other four person group across the middle. meaning people from the other group had to talk loudly across the table to each other to have conversations. we also had an issue when calling to make a reservation, with the person i talked to giving me different information than a friend who had called a few days before.

clean establishment, very friendly service. i sat and drank tea until i realized that i was late for an appointment, had to leave, and they didn't even charge me for the tea. upon my return, i had the chicken teriyaki and sushi combo. boy, what a lot of food! i couldn't eat everything, but i did finish the delicious california roll. a full roll, and the chicken for $8?? what a bargain!

the food is great but.... i've had sakura a reseaonable amount of times, and i really enjoy the food. ... but that's not what i'm basing this review on. i'm basing this review on morality.

i have a friend that used to work there and they would tell me horrific stories. i don't want to go into too much detail but the owner/head chef treats some of his employees like garbage. forcing select employees to sign contracts that discriminate and signal them out. also the owner having racist, homophobic, antisemitic outbursts, as well as temper tantrums.

first time here. it was my first time at this spot and it was pretty good. i had the sushi lunch that consisted of salmon, red tuna, white tuna, octopus, crab, and shrimp rolls. i ordered the cajun roll as well. service was ok due to a miscommunication of what i asked for and what was really ordered. i would come back

best sushi in buffalo. i swear there's always someone complaining. don't pay any attention to the comment about the quality going down at sakura. i have been ordering from them since they opened and their food has been consistently fantastic. anything made with their spicy sauce is just that, spicy and not for the faint of heart. i've tried all the other places in buffalo; fuji, kumo, shogun and nothing compares to sakura.

used to be my favorite..... now, not so much. sakura used to be one of my favorite, if not the favorite, sushi places around, but after about a year of not going there, i was not impressed. i felt the quality of the food has gone down. i ordered the chicken teriyaki, and it said that it came with 'tempura vegetables'...it came with 2 pieces of tempura asparagus, an egg roll, and a friend hashbrown..you know, like you get at mcdonald's! not exactly what i was anticipating. also, there was only ginger ale or water as options for my 2 year old son. they should defintely look into a few more options.

unfortunately, i probably won't go back, and will continue to go to the sushi restaurant closer to my house. which is a shame, since i used to rave about them, and tell everyone to go there.
