this is a must!! its a whole different vibe from the other restaurants close by... however it is lovely. the staff is very friendly right from the walk in. service is great, and the food is great. we had the basic fish and calamari. perfectly prepared and fresh.

my girlfriend and i visited ons huisie twice during our vacation and can honestly say this is one of the best places to have some traditional sea food in cape town, can't wait to go back.

lovely place! and one of my favorite locations as its close to the beach. food was amazing, staff friendly and super helpful. views outstanding. we went for breakfast and had the bacon and banna french toast and it was so so lekker. definitely a favorite.

lovely setting and well priced. we were family of 6 and unfortunately half the food really wasn’t that great. the burger had a cold overcooked patty. the fishcakes lacked salt. the mussels stated as having a tomato cream sauce, was more cream than anything else and disappointing. the koeksister was so so, was more doughy and lacked that crunch one gets when biting into them. the fish and chips was great, and so was the phyllo vegetarian parcels. linefish was yellowtail and cooked well, but the mash wasn’t my liking. service was slow but to be expected as peak season. i’ve been here for breakfast before and far prefer the quality we got then than at today’s lunch.

had an awesome "christmas" lunch with my daughter, her boyfriend & his family!! wait was long however it was worth it, food was delicious & waiter was friendly & kept updating us on our order!!! great restaurant for making new memories

excellent food, great view, lovely wine, good service. i would recommend ons huisie to anyone who would like to taste traditional south african food and desserts.

we arrived at about 12pm, found a nice table. yummy and good quality food, worth every penny! wonderful and friendly service. will definitely go there again!

just had another huge omelette here, best omelette i have had for a long time. the staff were very friendly and service was great. i will definitely be back for more.

that definitely rates as one of the worst breakfasts i've ever had. very greasy, not served hot, hard fried eggs when i asked for soft, pork sausage was more of a boerewors and i'm not even going to try and describe the omelette. won't come here again

service was poor and food not great. beautiful scenery but food preparation needs serious attention. service was unorganized and overall not a great experience. pity as the location is very special.

oh my gosh, what a treat!
we started off with blik bread to start (warm and fresh) and both the lamb bredie and mussels were awesome! the lamb especially; i can only recommend the visit!

i have been coming here for 6 years and have never had a bad experience. food is always on point, service is impeccable and always friendly. they are so welcoming and make you feel like you are apart of their family. big thumbs up to mike who is there everyday making it one of the best places to eat at!

have been going here for about 12 or so years, and have always enjoyed the very comfy homely vibe of the place.
the food is so typical beach bar food and the potion sizes are more than enough to ensure satisfaction.
the service is usually great however since the renovations and expansions it appears that on a busy december afternoon they are a bit short staffed to keep up with the amount of people.
very lovely to sit and enjoy a nice lunch while your kids play on the beach or part of a very exciting bar crawl along to big bay.

lovely location, but we didn't get to try anything as, after waiting half an hour for menus and then waiting for someone to take our order, we got up and left. also heard two other tables around us saying they wont be back because of the shocking service... what a disappointment.

love this place. ice cold beer after a run on the beach with the dogs. met the owner for the first time yesterday and what a gent. brought fresh water bowls for the dogs and made time for us. i'm becoming a regular here
